"Scream" was a terrible series of "ironic" horror movies from the 90s and early 00s.

The 2000's saw the rise of crunk music.

The Justice Friends segment on Dexter's Lab had a character called the The Infraggable Krunk, a pastiche on the Hulk.

In backpacker circles, Laos is widely thought to be the most laid-back of the Southeast Asian conutries. Lao People's Democratic Republic, or PDR, is cheekily called "Laos - Please Don't Rush".

According to Mirror UK, Dr. Jari Louhelainen, an expert in the analysis of genetic evidence from historical crime scenes, claims to have shown that one of the key suspects in the Whitechapel killings was indeed Jack the Ripper. The DNA of one of the suspects in the case was said to be a perfect match – a Polish immigrant named Aaron Kosminski who moved to London from Russia in the early 1800′s. Kosminski was a 23-year-old hairdresser in London when the killings took place, and he resided a few hundred yards away from one of the victims’ residence. Reports say that Kosminski was most likely a paranoid schizophrenic. At the time of the murders, the police had no evidence to convict Kosminski, but he was kept under surveillance and stayed in mental asylums until his death. The DNA evidence came from the blood-soaked shawl of Ripper victim Catherine Eddowes. Although there were hundreds of suspects thought to be the real Jack the Ripper, no one was ever convicted for the murders. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/jack-ripper-murder-mystery-solved-4177665

A website I read once said that Southeast Asia's Big Three temples are Cambodia's Angkor Wat, Indonesia's Borobudur, and Myanmar's Shwedagon Paya

t’s very easy, just rehearse these phrases… and try use them with confidence in every conversation. Use “canonical” when you mean “usual” or “standard.” As in, “the canonical example of talking like a physicist is to use the word ‘canonical’.” Use “orthogonal” to refer to things that are mutually-exclusive or can’t coincide. “We keep playing phone tag — I think our schedules must be orthogonal”. “About” becomes “to a first-order approximation”. Things are not difficult, they are “non-trivial”. Large discrepancies are “orders of magnitude apart”. You’re not being lazy, you are in your “ground state”. A tiny amount is “vanishingly small” or “negligible”. Really small is “infinitesimal”. it’s not a wire, it’s a “conductor”. You aren’t overweight, you are “thermodynamically efficient”. http://blogs.scienceforums.net/swansont/archives/114

My daughter turned 13 last month. It's a cliche but I have no idea where the time went.

Belated happy birthday to your daughter, matlock! ... and another 7 are wholly in Asia: China, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Japan, Iran, South Korea. 2 more (Russia and Turkey) are partly in Asia. Okay Asia, you really have to find something better to do with your spare time.

The great comic book writer Alan Grant claims he was blacklisted by DC for saying something brutally honest to a DC executive. He won't name the executive, though.

In the first Bewitched episode featuring Dick Sargent as Darrin, Tabitha runs away into a storybook because she claims that both her parents like boys better than girls.
The only character in all of literature who has been described as "badnass" while using the phrase "vile miscreant."

The Firestorm villainess Hyena became a villainess because her father wished she had been a boy.
Same with the villainess in Dario Argento's film Four Flies on Grey Velvet.
