http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=59386I'm not sure how I feel about this. I love all 64 issues, but I prefer the final 24 which were written by Peter David, and I get the impression that this is going to focus on Starlin's initial 32 issue arc. There's nothing wrong with that, and maybe if the adaptation of the Starlin issues is successful, then they'll follow it up with an adaptation of the first 22 PAD issues.

At what point will this comic based TV show market become oversaturated and the bubble implode? At this point, they're just throwing everything to the wall and hoping to turn it into a show.

Keep up with what I've been watching lately! "Where have you gone, Joe DiMaggio? Our nation turns its lonely eyes to you."

Yeah, but Dreadstar deserves to become a show.

I like Dreadstar a lot too, but I still have to wonder at what point this trend is going to end.

Well, it doesn't happen overnight, even though the mass media would like us to believe it does. I think by the end of this decade, it's going to be well into the process of winding down.

That's true. I wonder if this one will be good though, especially seeing how disappointing Constantine was.

I didn't watch Constantine, but that one seems almost impossible to adapt to live action. Dreadstar has a much better chance of turning out right.

Constantine is a really good show, even considering the liberties it takes. However the trappings may have been altered Matt Ryan just freaking IS John Constantine, and the stories have improved tremendously. I sure hope it gets renewed somehow. Dreadstar as a TV show, though.....hm. I haven't read any of it, but it sure sounds like it might be ill-served by the budget constraints of TV.
Still "Lardy" to my friends!

I agree that Ryan does really well in the role of John Constantine and looks like he leaped from the pages of Hellblazer, but the show just never clicked with me. Glad to see you like it though, Lardy. I hope it gets renewed for you. As for budget constraints, I wouldn't be too worried about that. The Flash show seems to be getting along just fine. Plus, if the SyFy channel (ugh I hate that spelling) can pump out shows/movies on a shoestring budget, I think the Dreadstar guys will be just fine.
