Yeah it is. But since Spanish is way more common in the US than Swahili, I wondered why no one caught it It does seem like a very glaring mistake. Oh well, they fixed it. A bit late, but at least they fixed it. Wish they had changed it to another Swahili word though. Maybe they were afraid it would translate into something else... Totally agree. Maybe google translate wasn't working for them?

Maybe they just didn't think of checking it in Spanish. Maybe they just tried English. And they decided, sprock it, I don't want to try every language in Google translate  which is kind of lazy too, I mean how often do you have to think of a character's code name...

It is a shame that the name 'Joto' didn't work out because I always like it (not knowing a word of Spanish). And I vastly preferred it to the horrendous Slagger, which just brought to mind someone spitting, to me.
At least he found a new lease of life as Hotspot.
Re: this question - I know the name 'Avatar' was floated around as a potential for Donna Troy at one point but I'm not sure if it was as an alternative to 'Troia' or if it was much later. It ended up being used by the lame villain in that L.A.W. series as I recall.

Hotspot as a code name is at least as good as Joto. I also liked the Joto name as it added a touch of exoticism. And both Joto and Hotspot were way more descriptive of his powers than Slagger was.
Troia... always seemed like a pointless code name, to me. It doesn't really say anything about Donna's powers or identity. Just having her use "Donna Troy" would have been better.

You got it! Devin Grayson had written the script with Avatar but it got pulled because of the LAW series. Devin said it in a DCU chatroom back in the day. Over to you, Blacula!

Q:
Don't ask me where they come from because I'm just getting these from this character's Comic Vine entry, but which Titan has at various times also been known as "Guardian Spirit of Jade", "Sprout", "Nou Yu T'u" and "Suckled by a Tigress"?

I think they were probably used in different Elseworlds stories but still, weird choices.
