Poor old Rod Reilly aka Firebrand I got killed off and no one knew (except those lucky few who got their hands on an issue of the extremely rare Cancelled Comics Cavalcade).

Fortunately, we had the awesome Danette Reilly aka Firebrand II ready to take his place.

Unfortunately, she fell into limbo after All-Star Squadron ended and no one's really used her since. :-(

Well, I was sure it was either him or Doll Man and that's good enough for me

I knew this one because of some research into the Justice League Detroit thread. The Secret Society was constantly confronted by Captain Comet for most of this run, before it became the Freedom Fighters. Likewise, Vixen makes an appearance in Cancelled Comics Cavalcade.

Brother and sister. In All-Star wasn't Rod injured (possibly Pearl Harbour) and Danette took over. I seem to recall that she was originally supposed to be called Wildfire >gasp< a Leigon reference in the Non-Legion thread >blasphemy!<

Wildfire was a Quality Comics character, one of the first female super-heroes. DC execs wouldn't let Thomas use her because of the Legion's Wildfire, so he created an original flame power character and made her the sister of Quality's Firebrand.

I was always surprised they didn't bring her back as the Legion went through various boots. Not to mention the JSA mining every legacy hero they could get their paws on.

Yeah, seriously. Her GA stories were pretty good, as I recall.

They could have just changed her codename...

but at least we got Danette out of the deal!

Not Punch (Captain Atom), Cliff (Firestorm) or Blockbuster (Detective), but Shrike is right. I thought she was the hard one to get, having appeared with the Cadre at the start of the Justice League Detroit era.

Psi first appeared over in Supergirl. I always thought she was an underused character.

Adam Cray first appeared in Suicide Squad. He was the son of a Senator who had appeared in the title earlier.

Doctor Light was tricked by the ghost of his predecessor into becoming a hero. Light had become a bit of a joke, and he was convinced that this would be the way to get people to respect him. He was promptly shot numerous times by Darkseid's
Parademons.

I was re-reading some of Ostrander's run on Suicide Squad recently, and it still holds up really well. Easily the best version of the team for me.

Wow, thanks. I knew Dr Light was a member of the Suicide Squad at some point, and I knew that he died because he was a Black Lantern, so I just made an educated guess.
