Deadshot 78 100% Clayface II (Hagen) 74 95% Man-Bat 66 85% Catwoman (Golden Age) 64 82%
Eliminated this Round:
Two-Face (Golden Age) 50 64% Talia Al Ghul 40 51% <-- Thought for sure Top 3 at the rate we were going
Poison Ivy (Silver Age) 36 26% <-- Nice comeback Clayface III (Payne) 28 36% ~~~
We are moving on to the top four. We will keep the scale the same until we reach top 2 or 3 (if it is really close or there is a tie).
Catwoman(Golden Age) Clayface II(Hagen) Deadshot Man-Bat

So the effective result of the wildcard round was trading Talia for Clayface.

I decided not to use percentages this round, given only four characters are left.
Your Top 4 Catwoman(Golden Age) 82 1st Clayface II(Hagen) 40 4th Deadshot 54 2nd Man-Bat 50 3rd
Final Round Begins Now
Catwoman vs. Deadshot
Write the name of the character you wish to win. If there is a tie, I will use a random generator to determine the winner. Remember, the number generator is a cold and heartless entity, so please vote if you want your character to win!
Round Ends 5:30 P.M January 2nd 2016.
What happens after that?
I will be researching Flash villains. If you know, feel free to send a PM any time. The next Idol will start around February 1st to give us some breathing room in between games. I will probably post the thread a week before that as I anticipate I will need a lot more help putting that one together.

Catwoman- I have been rooting for her consistently since my poor Harley got booted out. She has been there since Batman #1 and it is amazing that a version of her has been active since that time. I prefer the Golden Age version as she is less dependent on Batman than the Silver Age version. I would have voted for the Modern Age Version if she wasn't eliminated so early.

We came so close Man-Bat! I haven't given Catwoman or Deadshot more than the minimum number of points all game so this result sucks for me. I don't dislike Catwoman but she's got an infallible perfectness about her, as Batman and the Joker do, which bugs me about all three characters. John Ostrander gave Deadshot some interesting layers but it all seemed a bit Wolverine-like to me - gruff, silent, tortured, perfect killer. Not my favourite character archetype. Of the two, I'll give my vote to... Catwoman.

Wow, final round already? All good things come to an end...
I found Catwoman to be a lot less "perfect" than Joker and Batman, both of whom I do find to be a tad overrated. So my vote goes to...
CATWOMAN!
Emily, so happy you're doing Flash villains Idol. Actually, I would like to suggest that you take over Legion Villains Idol too... I have some personal errands that will keep me busy, so I don't foresee myself being able to start that. And you've done such a good job with this one, after all.
Plus, I'm more motivated to do Hero Idols than Villain Idols. (I'm actually eager to do a Justice Society Idol, to complete the four "main" DCU teams with tons of members - having already done three Legion Idols, a JLA Idol and a Titans Idol).

Deadshot's character arc was impressive, (in the writing sense if not actually liking any of those character traits ) We really got under his skin, and saw how he viewed the world. But that was over in Suicide Squad and I think that my fav villain should really have been based firmly around development in the Bat-Books. So, it's Catwoman for me. More than a femme fatale, more than the stereotypical jewel thief, more than a Bat-Love interest. The Joker, Two Face and the others have a shelf life based on how believable you find their repetitive escapes/ releases from Arkham to be. Not so with Catwoman. She's always been strong enough to rival Bats in any story. She's possibly the most mentally sound character too, considering the way Bats went all dark and obsessive. So my vote is for Catwoman!

I have to agree I'll always think of the Golden Age Catwoman as a formidable and glamorous villain for Batman on Earth 1. On Earth 2, they marry and have an amazing daughter. As many of us know, marriage can be incredibly villainous So while I love Deadshot as a character, my vote for Bat Villain idol goes to CATWOMAN

Since five out of the usual seven voters already submitted their votes, and there is a clear winner, I will not be delaying this round.
The winner of Bat-Villain Idol is Catwoman!
Thank you for all for your time, patience, and contributions. I hope to see you all in February for the Flash Rogues Idol. Please feel free to send me a PM at any time if you know of any Flash Rogues, as I have already started working on the list. I will be posting the thread the last week of January, as that one is going to need a lot more preparation (five Flashes, multiple worlds, ages, and related characters).
Mods, please close this thread after 24 hours of this message, to allow people time to comment on the game.

Thanks Emily for a wonderful game! I had tons of fun. Catwoman, yay! We have another female winner to continue the trend. (for those curious, the trend is: Preboot Legion Idol - White Witch Postboot Legion idol - Triad Multiverse Legion Idol - Kinetix (I didn't cheat, promise) Titans Idol - Kole (I also didn't cheat, promise) JLA Idol - Flash (Barry Allen) Looking forward to Flash Rogues Idol, and later on LSV Idol (and I would love to run a JSA Idol too). I don't think we need to close this thread, actually. It will sink down anyway if nobody posts to it. So I wouldn't worry about needing to close it.

Thanks for a fun game Emily. I like surprise so while it was a bit of a disappointment to see an obvious character like Catwoman take home the win, it was interesting seeing where a lot of the other characters ended up (I'm still amazed by the Cavalier and Clayface II's strong performances). Looking forward to the Flash game. Here's a website that lists a lot of Flash villains: http://www.hyperborea.org/flash/villains.html

I thought we would end up with the Joker, Two Face, Riddler/ Ras, Bane/ Harley battling it out, so lots of surprises for me in the end. The Cavalier in particular.
Thanks for running it Emily.

Thanks, Emily!
I thought it was going to be a Joker/Riddler fight too, so I'm delighted that it's the Golden Age Catwoman and Deadshot at the last
This was my first time playing an Idol ... it was fun - a lot of twists to it I particularly enjoyed how different our opinions and approaches were to the contest (and it was nice seeing how many of us are Silver Age fans)

Idols are always fun It's great seeing relatively obscure characters beat out more traditionally popular characters.
