She fell in love with a villain, and the two ran off to build a little orbital death ray of their own?

Very, very close!

Close enough that I will give it to you.

The Crimson Fox who faked her death was Vivian. She fell in love with a vigilante/thief (he seemed to be a villain) called Rene. She thought he was dead, but he turned up alive and in hiding. So she faked her death too to be with him.

Yeah, it made as much sense at the time...

Over to you Thothy.

Alas, Rene. He died first, and Metamorpho had to choose between saving Vivian (the sister who faked her death) or Constance (the sister who thought her sister had died).

He saved Constance.

In a special Superman issue we learn that he spends a day a year travelling at great speed across the galaxy remembering things about Kryptonian culture and it's values. He arrives back on Earth to overhear a teacher give names to the "greatest men and women across human history" who embody the values of humanity.

Superman was the seventh, but who were the first six?

Cracking guesses Myg. You've merged the two worlds in a much better way than the writers actually did.

1. Martin Luther King, Jr. "He used the principles of non violence to win civil rights for his people."
2. Albert Einstein. "He changed our way of looking at how the universe works."
3.
4.
5. Joan of Arc. "She led troops to free the people of France and was wrongfully burned at the stake as a witch."
6.
7. Superman. "He rocketed to Earth as a baby form a dying world and grew up to fight for truth, justice and the American way."

Not Thomas Jefferson, who was already guessed.

Leonardo & Picasso are closer to one than a lot of other guesses.
