Thoth has it! When Alan Scott was head of Checkmate and reviewing the crash of heroes on Earth during the weekly 52, he asks "who invited Herald? He barely has superpowers!"
Over to you, Thoth

Ah that's when it was. I was think it was something from way back when Titans West and East met up.

It's not that I'm not trying, but that's 3 random issues and not a question in sight...

What was the code word that Doctor Damalis used to control Magenta?

Cinderella?
(Oh! What a great idea for a series - Teen Titans Spotlight - too bad it didn't succeed)

Really close Andy. "Cinderella" was the code word for Lightning. I'm glad you're on the right lines though, and with the right story, as I wondered about this one being too vague. I went through a dozen other Titans issues without a single question popping up for me.

Yay! That's it.
There was mention of a "Snow White" at the end and a wall with a big hole in it. What DC character could Damalis have had her claws into. It's an interesting idea, and I've no idea if it was ever followed up on.
I never bought Spotlight. Considering it was running on the coat tails of Wolfman/Perez it should have done a lot better. There was that amazing Perez ad for it too with all the headshots. I never really picked up many of the issues cheaply either. I think I wasn't impressed with the art/story.
I did pick up the Magenta one, and was thrilled to see Chuck Patton's art in it. Seriously underrated in my book and DC were silly not giving him plenty of work to keep him around.

Teen Titans Spotlight had oodles of potential (and that amazing advertisement by George Perez certainly tapped into that) but unfortunately, its main problem was that it was majorly boring. I bought the whole series as a set a few years ago and struggled to get through it.
I think it was hamstrung by the fact that nearly all of the writers were "guest" writers (IIRC) so none of them could do anything meaningful with any of the characters. I also can't recall any interesting or pre-established villains being used.
It didn't help that it came out just when the wheels were beginning to fall off the once great Titans property.

I think I also read through it, but I barely remember anything.
The Wolfman/Perez era was generally great, but I also remember starting to get bored towards the latter part. I can't quite place my finger on why, nor can I really identify the exact issue (partly because I binge read the whole run).

For me, it's the Baxter issues. 'Tales of the Teen Titans' stayed great more or less right until the end of its 'original stories' run but there was something missing from the prestige format series right from the start IMO.
Not even Kole could save it. ;-)

I think that Wolfman was struggling with writer's block for at least part of that time shortly after the Baxter launch. I'm surprised his brain hadn't melted after crisis. With no Perez after the first arc and the book becoming possibly too soapish right at that time, a number of things might have contributed. Azrael should have been a bit of a warning for all involved :-) *sob* I bet the series would have been great if they had saved Kole! *sob* There, there. Did bad LW bringback a sad memory? Have a tissue. [Whistles innocently]

Vandal Savage managed to beat a Titans team pretty handily (I think in 2 pages). Who were the four Titans on the team?

You got it!
I really enjoyed DC 1,000,000 overall but this fight with Vandal Savage was SOOOOOO bad ... it was part of the whole "Titans defeated to advance plot" motif that was carried on by DiDio and Johns through the 2000s

Oh yeah, I read that one. Roy Harper being seen to try and fail as a leader. I don't actually mind that. Not everyone is suited for everything. But Vandal still took them down far too easily.

I have never understood the "any of us can be leader" model of some superteams. But Supergirl got taken out with an explosive arrow. No. Seriously.

As I have to really trawl through Titans issues to get questions for this thread, I recently saw an Aqualad issue, where it's his turn to step up to the leadership plate. It's not that the story was badly written. It's just that when the characters become that interchangeable in terms of skills, then it really loses something.
