I was reading v3 #50. The Infinite Man has just battled the Time Trapper, and the Legionnaires have returned home battered, minus (another) one of Lu’s bodies.
But the last page shows us the Time Trapper’s robe. The thing is, I thought he was
in it. Now looking at the picture, it’s just a robe hanging on a rock.
But why did I think that? Perhaps it’s something to do with the way Giffen drew the character? He’s
always hunched over rocks, or lurking the shadows of wastelands. The panel above is from v4 #4, but he was equally like that in v4 #13 too.
v4 #13 also gave us a very unlikely Trapper survival, mandated by the Superman office, only to have him absorbed by Glorith. So, perhaps I just took v3 #50 to be another example of that.
Still, it seems a bit obvious now, and certainly, the story make more sense (I had always though it a little odd there)
