If your character robbed a bank, would onlookers say "Well D'uh! he is a villain after all."? Onlookers would be quite surprised if this character robbed a bank. Is your character a human-shaped being from a planet other than Earth? My character is not a human-shaped being born on a planet other than Earth.

Definitely not. Can your character change shape? Nope. is your character native to the 20th/21st centuries? Technically yes. But that could be misleading.
