It's a theory that makes much sense to me.

Even if it didn't make sense, there is a ton of evidence to back it up.

I had a teacher in high school who spoke with a very thick accent from the Central-South Philippines. She pronounced evidence as "eebidense".

I was visiting friends in Scotland and we were at Balmoral (the Queen's summer palace. You got to walk the grounds if no royals were there) Walking along, my friends said they did not hear an accent when I talked. I accepted the compliment and then read the brochure I had that said admission proceeds went to the Royal Cancer Society. I, of course, pronounced it "Can-sah". They laughed and said "Oh there it is!"

That was a good educational moment for many people. I've met post-graduate students who didn't know Georgia the country existed.

Massachusetts has 3 countries and one state in it. Peru, Wales, and Holland (although Holland the country is no longer called Holland) and Florida are all towns in Massachusetts. I still make the joke that I drove from Boston to Florida and back in one day, when I drove out to Florida Massachusetts.

Sadly, given the number of people with almost no knowledge of geography, many would not get the joke.

Driving from Boston to Holland in one day would sound even more impressive!

I wonder how many people would fail to realize that one needs to cross an ocean to do that.

I once named a “locomotive” in a third grade exam when asked for examples of solid objects. Sadly, I had to explain what it was to my teacher

I was feeling possessed when I typed it. All the non Victorian Purity Society thoughts that arrived
with the bad spelling confirmed it.

I think you should check your house for sheep and for evil offspring who want to kill you.

Fortunately, both things are easily removed by Leia cat, although I've had to enlarge the cat flap for when she takes them out into the garden.

Leia cat is quite the guardian! Unlike some dogs and cats, who would probably think burglars are new friends to play with.

If you destroy, use up, or otherwise make something stolen unreturnable, that is called conversion

Conversion therapy is a helpful sounding term that belies the horrific abuse perpetrated by states & groups in the absurd notion of changing someone's sexuality.

It is said that the city of Santa Monica, California, was named because two springs in the city were reminiscent of the tears St. Monica shed while praying for the conversion of her son, St. Augustine of Hippo.
The only character in all of literature who has been described as "badnass" while using the phrase "vile miscreant."
