As the saying goes, I try to separate the art from the artist. (They've also recorded what I consider to be really good covers of "Locomotive Breath," "Easy Livin'," "Paint It, Black," "Mississippi Queen," "I Don't Need No Doctor," and "The Real Me.")

The Kid jumped for a moment as the wind caught the saloon doors. He smiled just as quickly as he'd leapt, and looked sharply around the room, daring anyone to call him on it. His forehead was slick with dampness, even as the evening cooled and the lights of the town flickered on. Another glance told him what he'd feared. The locals were different. For weeks they'd been in awe of his Wednesday Night Quick Fire. None could stand against it and many had fallen into awed whimpers at his prowess. He'd revelled in their whispers of forbidden access to information. Those same whispers now brought hints of something else. Something else that had turned their fear... The Wanderer was coming... The Wanderer was near... A sharp report came from the stage at the rear of the bar. A pistol shot of noise, that once made the Kid sneer, but now made him shudder. The time was indeed near and no device could help him now. The stage mic had burst into life and The Wanderer had surely come... The Wednesday Night Pop Quiz would have a new champion, and his name would become a legend in this town...  Safe wanderings partner.
