There would be a lot of mess to clean up if we kept trying to put dishes and cutlery in such cabinets over here.

In Rhode Island a “cabinet” is another name for a milk shake That explains the popular Rhode Island saying, "My cabinet brings all the boys to the yard."

Kitchens would be the usual location for that though.

There is an old Peanuts cartoon. Two of the characters are talking about Charlie Brown. How three big boys were chasing him. They were getting closer and closer. Suddenly Charlie Brown organized a discussion group.

"That Round-Headed Kid" is what Snoopy always calls Charlie Brown, because he can never remember his owner's name. Snoopy even thought up a half-assed excuse, "It's a complicated name, I have trouble with names like that."

Whenever I try to watch an episode of Happy Days or any other "classic" Garry Marshall TV comedy show, I feel like I'm going to up-chuck.

Although some, like a custard pie to the face, a fall on a banana skin or Scotland's attempts to get past the group stages of a major soccer tournament are more widely funny than many other things.

Like watching a comedian crash on stage, getting up to leave only to find out you're stuck listening to it for more than 3 years. The anti-Ken Dodd experience. For those who've not heard of him, Dodd was a comedian for whom running time was but a vague notion. His shows would frequently overrun with silliness.
