This my new Legion-era super-team idea!
They're a group modelled after the Seven Wonders of the 30th century, featured in the classic original Starfinger tale!
The members thus far:
REVERSE-WATERFALL LAD: A former laboratory assistant of Rann Antar (aka Kid Heavyfeathers), he swallowed a variant version of Antar's famous "feathers heavier than lead" formula, which gave him the ability to increase/decrease the affect of gravity on water! As he gain more control over his powers, he gains more ability to manipulate water!
SUN KID: After doing a favor for a 5th-dimensional imp, Sun Kid was granted one wish, and so he asked to be given the powers of Superboy! Unfortunately, this mischevious imp made his body a living solar battery, ala Superboy, but he required near-constant sunlight not only to empower him but for his very survival! More than a few hours away from sunlight could prove fatal for him!
STATUE KID: A mutant Zwenian born with the ability not only to turn to stone, but to change shape and increase his size when pertrifying! So, effectively, he can turn into a giant statue of anyone he chooses!
Yet to come, details on the girl wonders:
Powersphere Lass, Stratosphere Girl, Wind-Control Wendy, and Global Tunnel Girl!

Powersphere Lass sounds awesome. Especially if she talks about her mighty spheres a lot. Global Tunnel Girl reminds me that I always wanted to write up an old BITS character called 'Omniboy' who could 'travel in air, on the land or on or under the sea!' Instead of making Omniboy just have travel powers, I was thinking of making he a she, and giving her the power to transform her robotic-looking android body into any sort of vehicle, from a ground-speeder to an air-jet to a spaceship to a submarine or even a tunneling machine! She's the sister of the long-lost Fortress Lad, wondering what happened to her brother, who had a similar ability to transform into buildings. Of course, I'd have to come up with a name for Vehicle Lass, since Interplanet Janet is already taken.

Omniboy was actually adapted into the Omnibeast, one of Jungle King/Monster Master's Legion of Super-Monsters.

STRATOSPHERE GIRL: A native of the planet Koobar, whose inhabitant evolved the ability to stretch their bodies to incredible lengths in order to escape predators or reach food or something, Stratosphere Girl was inspired by Legionnaire Matter-Eater Lad, who once saved their planet from an alien invasion, to come to Earth and become a super-hero! She planned to join the Legion of Super-Heroes, but inadvertantly became involved in the events that led to the formation of the Seven Wonders, taking the name Stratosphere Girl, inspired by the Stratosphere Laboratory!

GLOBAL-TUNNEL GIRL: GTL received her ability to create underground tunnels on any planet when she was exposed to the radiaton from a strange meteor! Her tunnels last only as long as she is in the vicinity! She is the *main* reason why Mordru never messes with the Seven Wonders!

Reverse-Waterfall Lad actually sounds pretty powerful!
And Global-Tunnel Girl's being a human Mordru-repellent makes her arguably the most important team member!

POWERSPHERE LASS: Powersphere Lass's scientist mother was working on inventing miniature, portable fusion powerspheres when she was was preggers with PL! Unfortunately, her test model exploded, bathing her and her unborn child in radiation! Fortunately, both survived, but the child was turned into a living fusion powersphere! She could use the energy from the cold fusion reactions within her body to enhance her own physical attributes, making her temporarily faster, stronger, and more durable than an ordinary person, or she can release destructive energy bursts!

WIND-CONTROL WENDY: Wendy Winston was a young girl on one of the first Earth colony vessels to be sent beyond the solar system. Unfortunately, her vessel was swallowed by a giant space-amoeba! Centuries later, when this space-amoeba was killed by the U.P. Spacefleet after menacing Rimbor, Wendy was discovered among the fragments of space-amoeba, still somehow surviving in a state of suspended animation. Somehow, she'd gain the ability to be permanently surrounded by her own breathable atmosphere, so that she could survive in space or hostile planets. With practice, she learned to project this atmosphere beyond herself in short bursts, as well as to use it to manipulate air currents in surrounding atmospheres!

Fun fact:
In Action Comics #136, Tommy Tomorrow helps reporter Lon Brett of Interplanetary News identify the Seven Wonders of Space!
Their list:
1. The Burning World, permanently on fire! 2. The Sargasso Sea of Space, a vast mass of space seaweed! 3. The Flying Dutchman of Space, a ghostly spaceship actually the reflections of a glass meteor! 4. The Space City, a mysterious abandoned city floating through space! 5. The Vegetable World, where plants rule! 6. The Space Roc, terror of the asteroid belt! 7. The Invisible World, detectable only through ultraviolet light

Tommy Tomorrow/ Legion Mashup... The Seven Wonders
Dirk Morgna couldn't control his powers. It got worse as he got older, threatening family, his town and, in the end, his world. RJ Brande constructs a special suit that allows him to leave The Burning World to take up his place as Wildfire of the Seven Wonders.
Explorers from another dimension leave tales of their ghostly heroism across the galaxy. First introduced in "The Flying Dutchman of Space" their ghost ship appears in times of crisis. Once finally contacted through RJ Brande's Dimensional Frequency Modulator, Tinya Wazzo is recruited to The Seven Wonders as Phantom Girl.
Arrogant and anti-human, Plant King Ral Benem is a reluctant recruit to The Seven Wonders after RJ Brande saves The Vegetable World as it drifts towards its own sun.
Alchemists from Earth, ever struggling to keep the light of knowledge alive, devised The Invisible College. From that shared resource they met with success in their research, and unlocked secrets of the cosmos. Secrets that RJ Brande came into unwitting contact when he encountered Lyle Norg and Myla, students from the Invisible World existing by our side, yet forever hidden. Element changing Myla joined The Seven Wonders as the Invisible Kid.
The world that was its egg shattered, creating a ring around its star. Within, Rokk Krinn emerged, curious yet alone in a universe where the rest of his race have been hunted to extinction. RJ Brande gave the shape changing Krinn a purpose as Chameleon Boy, enabling him to leave his days as The Space Roc behind him.
He had warned the elders about the shielding around the city. But with Brainiac, Collector of Worlds approaching there was no time. Thom Kallor was instructed to use his gravity powers to save the city by removing it from his planet. Having watched those he loved die from the effects of shield failures and cosmic radiation, only he remains as a caretaker to the dead of The Space City. An unobtrusive shuttle approaches to take Thom back to worlds of the living.
A gravitational anomaly that has captured many craft, The Sargasso Sea of Space is known for its vast mass of debris, referred to as space seaweed! Within the heart of this region is a world known as The Gyre, where civilisation has remained untouched by galactic catastrophe since the dawn of time. It's inhabitants have discovered that there is sentience behind a lot of the disasters elsewhere in the universe, and dispatch Val Armorr to warn and aid the flickering, new worlds beyond. RJ Brande names him Ultra Boy of The Seven Wonders.
"...not having to believe in a thing to be interested in it and not having to explain a thing to appreciate the wonder of it."
