One of the books I got for Christmas was Blood & Ivy: The 1849 Murder That Scandalized Harvard. It was very good. As it happened in Boston when they would mention different streets, I would be “I know where that is!”

Scandal was a TV series salvaged as a film covering the Profumo affair. It's being redone again, but the main selling point continues to be something to titilate the audience.
