The fourth season of Lost was truncated by the writer's strike, as I recall (after already being shortened as part of the deal to provide a definite end date for the series).
The show always had things that worked and other things that didn't work so well, imo. I hated it when they repeated the dynamite bit in the final season to get rid of a newer character they just didn't have time to develop.

They repeated the dynamite bit? Even the Road Runner cartoons never repeated those kinds of bits.

My favorite season of Lost is actually Season 5. With the time shifts and all, it really scratched the itch I always have for that kind of subject matter. I feel that Brian K. Vaughn had a huge influence on that season, which was missed during the disappointing final season with his departure.

I've never seen *Lost* but I will point out that Paladin's post is 57 minutes old, and that many of the Heinz 57 Varieties are also lost to history.

Now you are making me crave for some ketchup. I am only eating oatmeal now though. I think I will kick it out and get meatballs instead...

Turkey meatballs with berry-chili sauce would be so good right now! Unfortunately I've already planned out most of the week's dinner menus. But maybe next week...?

Weren't you also fond of Season 5 (and presumably, its heavy BKV influence), Edie?
Y: The Last Man and Saga are my favorite BKV books. Runaways was awesome, too. I don't think anything he's written has been less than readable, but those are his crown jewels.
I dropped Paper Girls about halfway through because the pace was glacial. I might catch up with TPBs at some point because there were some great ideas there. Time travel was in the mix, which I obviously have a weakness toward.

Do you guys think I'd enjoy Saga, despite the graphic violence?

I've read at least the start of it, and enjoyed it. Graphic violence isn't what I remember it for, so there's more to it than that. I'm going with a "yes."

Thank you, Thoth. I also have to say I've loved Fiona Staples's art from the get-go.

I've never thought of Saga as being excessively violent. When it happens, it's shocking and appropriate.
It's not gory like much of Avatar's output and is way below the level of violence that Invincible frequently indulged in.

I only read the first arc and its been awhile, but I'm also not remembering much in the way of graphic violence.

When I were a lad... oh wait I'm one in Legion World too technically... let's try that again....
When I was young, a fair number of comic books were war comics. There were loads of them. Hotspur, Valiant, Victor, Battle, Commando etc. and the ones I didn't see weekly, would have annuals out every Christmas. Seeing thousands of pencilled corpses by the time you've started school, is maybe not the best. Better than real ones in other parts of the world, I admit, but still not ideal. These fictionalised horrors were probably done with the complete blessing of the armed forces, as it pushed up their recruitment numbers. Much in the same way war films get lots of free equipment to use, when it's for the good of the forces.
I wonder how many years it took them before they realised 2000AD, the successor to those comics and one that contained lots of war and terrible things, was actually a satire against it. Suddenly, all those potential recruits had different ideas about authority figures. The last time I heard, the army were trying to pretend the outsourcing company, who they were reduced to bringing in to help, were doing a fine job. Even though every target had been missed.

I'm just now realizing a lot of things myself. Like how sexist and homophobic so many people I used to respect are.
