don?t know how to share here, but someone on Facebook shared a screenshot of Sook?s instagram where he reveals the powers of

X-Ray Girl (can make any object transparent by touching them. ?there are addendums but...?

Entropy Kid (can accelerate or reverse state of decay of objects, like turning a fruit into a seed or vice versa)

Radius Lad (mute, can tap into any signal in galaxy as his voice, which he can weaponize. armored and tough and strong)

Long-haired Imra is pretty cool! The only one I don't like is the brown uniform with Saturn Girl on her chest.

Hmmm, well those powers are all pretty lame aren't they? I was hoping for better from this new creative group.
Entropy Lad is basically Chemical King with a bit of a twist *yawn* (the yawn is for the twist for EL, not Chemical King who was pretty cool, not to mention heroic)

I'll agree with you on Entropy Kid and Radius Lad, but X-Ray Girl's power could be useful in determining an opponent's weak spot.

Interesting to see the Saturn Girl development pictures. Personally I'm glad they didn't go with the first shown option. That big collar looks to heavy and bulky.

Entropy Kid also draws from Kid Quantum II, in the middle of the DNA run (issue 14 I think - the last issue of the Robotica/COMPUTO invasion of Earth) she used her power to speed time up around a robot and age it to dust...

As for Radius Lad... kinda like Antennae Lad plus.

So yeah... I'm all for diversity and new alien-er Legionnaires, but I'm also a bit annoyed that they didn't just bring in "existing" Legionnaires with those powers... if they create someone new in a new continuity, at least make the powers new...

Who can tell when the artistic muse will enable them to complete it? If only it was a monthly book, instead of an art project.

Okay. I finally finished the Bendis run after reading the two collected editions. Yes, I'm months late. As usual. At least its not years this time.

I have a few thoughts.

What was good?
Sook's art, obviously. He is a fantastic artist.
I thought the "confession cam" intros were a unique way to start the books and in line with today's culture.
Kind of thought PG's Gates power was interesting, but then why can't we just have Gates?

What was OK?
The plot was alright - start with a quest/fight over the trident, and capture Mordru the gangster(?) and intrigue with Jo's father. OK, I'm on board, I guess. The Rimborian angle was the most interesting part of this whole journey for me, as it seemed to be more original. But it kind of fizzled at the end after the trial was over. The end battle did nothing for me. is he a space gangster or an intergalactic warlock? If the latter, why wasn't he able to better control ownership of the trident and allow himself to get captured? And how was Dr. Fate ex Machina able to dispose of him so easily?

What was bad?
No roll call - The floating tags were an interesting idea, especially as we are migrating into a world of augmented reality, but it's extra in the page. Just list who we will be seeing up front.
The setting - I'm not a fan of the UP in disarray as we start the book, nor the state of the Earth. Bendis is not giving me a hopeful future and I don't like it.
The dialog generally - Did anyone else feel like there were maybe two or three different voices speaking? I get that its hard to write for a large cast, but all the characters seemed to "sound" the same. And inconsistency of dialog for specific characters - Mordru one moment is straigtforward evil, next he says "Sorcery, but whatever" What??? I don't know, it just wasn't my cup of Java.

The ugly -
Characterizations. It's very clear that Bendis has no idea who any of these characters are. I almost had to get up and walk away after the later issues with Rokk and Lar. If I were reading this in print, I likely would have tossed the issue across the room. Who exactly are these people?? They aren't the characters from the last 50 years, I'll tell you that. The other 'boots at least had the basic character attributes correct across the board for the entire cast. The characterizations of Rokk Krinn and Lar Gand was criminal negligence, IMO.

After finishing all the released Bendis stories, I'm still just wondering why they did this in this way other than find another way to feature Jon Kent in the DCU. Fine. But a reboot was not necessary IMO. I just discovered yesterday that there was a JL storyline (Infinitus Saga) that essentially merged the retro and reboots! The little paranoid voice inside is telling me that this was the original approach until someone had a scheme to give us what we have today, which was essentially a rebooted limited run to push more Jon Kent with no further Legion on the horizon. After this read, as well as the Future State follow up, I don't trust whatever DC has planned for the title.

(I'm sure most of you probably have a little better perspective than me on the state of the DCU proper at that time, but this is my reflexive reaction to the situation after the read).

Nor mine. I've actually found Bendis's dialogue -- which his fans often point to as his greatest strength -- to be his greatest weakness. A friend of mine who loves the Marvel horror and supernatural characters was appalled at the way Bendis had Dr. Strange and Daimon Hellstrom talking colloquially.

Yes, I should have prefaced that I had zero knowledge of Bendis prior to this experience, probably because he was Marvel-centric, and I don't think I had much Marvel experience. For all the hype, I wasn't impressed.
