I almost made the same mistake myself and I agree that you could argue it either way. Something to keep in mind for the future.

But Threeboot Supergirl Kara vs. Preboot Kara are the same?
Dawnstar vs. Shikari are certainly different, because Shikari's creators say so?

I see Dawny and Shikari as totally separate characters (like Laurel Gand and Supergirl)....really the only thing they have in common is a partial powerset, but Shikari's a whole different species from a whole different galaxy and she's never really shared any of the same story or character beats as Dawnstar.

I think everyone agrees on the Superboy stuff, and we should probably keep identifying if it's Kal/Kon/Jon when we make guesses

Aside from Sensor/Jeckie, the only other character I have wondered about sometimes is Ayla because she's had as many identities as Hank Pym lol....but whatever she calls herself and whatever powers she has this week, she is still the same character right?

I agree with both of you. Basically if they have the same name (not title/superhero name) then I consider them versions of the same character, so all versions of Kara are the same character but Laurel Gand is a different stand-in. Superboys are different. Aylas are the same. Dawnstar/Shikari are different. Ferros are the same whether they come from the present or the future. Sensor vs Jeckie is the only question for me. They are different species obviously but use similar names, are both royalty and have similar powers. Tricky but for simplicity we can rule that they are different for the future. Thoughts?

I used to be much more inclined to count Jeckie and Jeka as different characters, but as time has passed, and we get more and more versions of Legionnaires that vary from the originals, I've moved more towards counting them as one. But I'm cool with keeping them separate. The "different real name" seems like a pretty good guideline.

Agree with everyone, so the basic rule is: same real name = same character even across Reboots, different real name = different characters (e.g. Sensor vs. Projectra)

Just thought about Wildfire/NRG who breaks this a bit with his Reboot merged version. Is this the same or a different character?

Given that the merged form uses the "Drake Burroughs" name, I'd count it.

Weirdly, this counts threeboot Randall Burroughs (Drake's brother) as version of Atom'x (one of the personalities that goes into making up Drake) from the postboot, but not as a version of Squire Burroughs (Drake's brother) from the preboot. Which, since none was a Legionnaire, doesn't matter much from the standpoint of the game, but is still an interesting result.
