I will hold off, as both stile and EDE got 3/4 and are eligible to guess

I'm not seeing it yet, so stile can have it if he knows it.

I think these 4 apppeared together on some cover or something... They did, although that's not the connection...it was a pretty big story for an honorary Legionnaire if that helps!

That does sound vaguely familiar. I was trying to think which honorary would have been in a story with Dawnstar, but I was thinking in the future not in the past.

nice!
that was such an interesting story, that one. earth-shaking concept. quite a moral dilemma, too. Superman was not happy with the result... and the poor kid was screaming and crying...
I am thinking of 5 Legionnaires.

They did a follow-up in DC Presents #14 where Pete plots revenge which fails but ends up driving himself insane, and then another in DC Presents #25 (also written by Paul Levitz) that involves the Phantom Stranger and an evil sorceress but no Legion. Basically the sorceress is somehow gaining power from Superman's guilt at leaving Jon there and Pete now insane and locked away. He has no dealings with the sorceress, that's all in Phantom Stranger's ballpark, but it does make him rethink his decision, so he goes and rescues Jon and brings him back to a relieved Pete deciding that fate can take care of itself. He doesn't know how the future will turn out, perhaps Jon as a man will come back to the planet and become a hero there, but he does know what is the right thing to do now. Just sometimes he needs a bit of prompting. Cosmic Boy Saturn Girl Lightning Lad Triplicate Girl Phantom Girl

Just sometimes he needs a bit of prompting. that is a great resolution, and hopefully Pete's insanity was cured too. I like how that planned out, with Superman following his heart/conscience, fate be darned.
