I said to someone recently that I'd post a few of the 21st Century Legion sketches I've got in this forum since it has no active threads...

Starting with one of my favourites, the Emerald Empress by Christeeny.

Beautiful! Love the Asian-themed outfit and the leaves in her hair.

Outfit isn't actually meant to be Asian-inspired. It's intended to be pretty firmly "classic European military/(male!) royal" (Sara's from a fictional country somewhere around the Balkans, IIRC). This sort of thing:



Similarly, the leaves in the hair is a laurel wreath, since she's Cobalt's character and we all know how much he loves his Roman references

Ah, I knew it was a laurel wreath but was blanking on the name. Missed the European inspiration though. For some reason I thought her eyes were all Asian

I can kinda see where you're coming from, but nah.

I'm not entirely certain where and when the style of military uniform originated, that said. But, like I said, the references I looked at were all European, since she's from SE Europe (cf, say, the Persuader's axe, where I went to quite a bit of trouble to track down an axe style that fitted with his North Korean background - ultimately I found one solitary source from a martial art wiki!)
