I don't read Superman, and so I´m confused about Mon-el. Why can't Shady have cut her finger? Did Mon-el never exist in this continuity? I always thought that the Mon-el in Superman simply hadn't spent his 1000 years in the Phantom Zone yet, and that he would eventually be put there and rescued by Brainy 1000 years later. Am I wrong?

That's not just you, Doctor One. Time travel paradoxes are just something that I let wash over without expecting them to make sense. That way I can get on with the fist fights and soap without my brains (or what's left of them) melting away.

So confused...
Shady cut her finger off during a ritual after Mon El was gravely injured during the Conspiracy story that resulted in the Time Trapper Confrontation. That was due to the death of Superboy.
If Superboy has not died, then the conspiracy never happened and Mon El was never injired...thus Shady would not have cut off her finger in a show of devotion to him when he was dying.
Continuity paradoxes make my brain hurt.

Didn't the depowerment of Mordru happen while Mysa was on Sorceror's World after a post-Conspiracy resignation from the Legion? That could actually explain why Mordru is still a villain.
Also, presumably the death of Jaxon Rugarth/Trial and Resignation of Brainiac Five never happened either. So Rugarth should still be around in a coma.

No, the de-powerment of Mordru happened in LSH # 27, well before Superboy died. It was between the Empress's Fatal Five and the Universo Project.

I still think things work best when you go from things started changing with the Crisis issue, and were just minor tweaks if any at all until it totaly deviates with issue 37 and the Death of Superboy story.
If you say everything up until the end is still in then there are more problems than your fixing. Like the way Blok had started to mutate by the end of the Baxter run but was still in his classic look now.

Paul Levitz stated that his new run follows on from his old run but has also said he hasn't gone back and totally re-read the Legion's canon. When he does, I think he will be forced to agree that an earlier cut off is the only way of explaining the differences
