I might do what Kent did and pack the bare minimum so its all carry-on. Maybe I'll even try to look like a college kid in case there's any young girls dressed like Supergirl on my flight! I promise not to use the 'why didn't you fly there' pick-up line until at least mid-flight!

I've got a bunch of t-shirts, so there's no light packing for me. Good thing I can check at least one bag...

We are in San Diego! Awesome condo, so close to the convention center we can see it! Like two blocks down. But, the rooftop grill we were to have access to is a no go. Seems they forgot to tell us it was removed and a new one isn't due until the first weekend of August. [Frown]

Hey, it worked in Vegas. Long story, short, couldn't use the hot tub we paid for and we made them refund both days, in full.

And it isn't just the grill. Just spoke to Director Lad who graciously offered to bring his Weber with him (much thanks!) but we can't access the rooftop at all. Re-tarring or something while the grill is being replaced. Can't blame them for taking the opportunity but it would have been nice to know in advance.

I don't think I've mentioned that I recently won a new mini-laptop (HP Mini-Note 2133), which I received today. It was sort of a door prize at a work event last month. Anyhoo, I have it just in time for the con. As I explained to someone, I'm a librarian who is going to a comic book convention to meet up with some friends from a Web site. How could I not have a brand-new laptop to bring with me as I ascend to the heights of nerd-dom? [Wink]

Jillikers! Everyone knows nerdy comic book fans are the secret types of people that cool legedary types go for!

You'll most likely find some young stud to double date with me and Jessica Alba (*choke* with no movie she better show up).

Cobie, you do know she just had a baby, right? And not one of your fictional many?

Jessica and baby Honor on cover of OK Magazine

So she's probably a bit too busy for SDCC... sorry. [Wink]

Jeepers Pov, of course I'm aware! And you of course know that after my many years fathering horrible monster children, Jessica already having a baby works to my advantage!

You're also smart enough to realize her being married to some dude doesn't factor into this at all [Wink]

But bloody liberty, if she's not as SDCC, then who shall I turn to next? What other comic book movies will have actresses present? Is Scarlet Johansson or Eve Mendes going to be around? Or Jaime King--I think she's pretty groovy!
