...am taking my 20-yr old cat Beavis in for a four week follow-up vet appt. He's been losing weight that I attributed to old age, but when he started his summer shedding losing tufts of hair I took him in. He was just under 7 pounds, having been close to 18-20 in his prime After screening him for possible ailments, we started him on a hyperthyroid med... Today's visit is to see if he needs his dosage increased.

He's okay, thanks for asking. OLD. lol... The vet upped his dosage and we started him on a prescription wet food... he had proteins in his urine samples and this food is designed for better absorption. That and lowering his BP by getting the hyperthyroidism under control should hopefully allow him to gain some weight back.
