Interesting, Xben. You seem to have a good mix of picks - remember Preboot Lightning Lad and TMK Cosmic Boy among them. They represent quite a broad range of eras. Which of your picks were off the table, Xben?
How about the rest of you? Reboot, are you a fan of any non-Postboot Legionnaires? Among the Postboot, I know you're a big fan of Spark and Gates. I think you also like Invisible Kid.
Lardy, you seem to be a big fan of many Adventure Era Legionnaires like Tenzil and Jeckie, and other classic Legionnaires like Dawnstar.

I just go with my gut each time. There are actually a lot of non-traditional Legionnaires I'd like to see make it thru, but if it looks like the tide is against them, I concede the inevitable and focus elsewhere, especially since I can't post constantly.

Love me some TMK--especially Kent Shakespeare and the older version of Laurel Gand! But the potential of some of the others on the list actually being on the roster, like Insect Queen, Veilmist, Gear and Stone Boy has a great appeal to me as well. It's a shame that all of these character have little or no place in current continuity.

I hear you, Laurel was awesome. And I agree - if the Legion could have an unlimited number of characters, I'd only really leave out Threeboot Ultra Boy, Atmos, Firefist and Earth-Man. I'm loving Legion Lost for featuring Tyroc, Tellus, Gates and Chameleon Girl - all "newbie" Legionnaires.
And even though I'd prefer Nightwind being called into the main team, I am more than willing to give Harmonia Li and the others a chance.
First of all, let me point out that I really am a fan of everyone who's ever been on this team or in its stories (even the characters I constantly complain about/vote against, like Brainiac 5 and Saturn Girl, I do so only because they're so over-used, not because they're not good characters).
But everyone who's ever been in a Legion story adds to the Legion mythos/tapestry in some way. That's what makes continuity such a great thing. It's a history - full of life and characters and events that creators can draw upon.
That said, I hate the Threeboot. Haha. Waid and Kitson completely failed in whatever world they were trying to build there IMO and none of the Threeboot Legionnaires seem a better interpretation than their Preboot or Postboot ones to me. I didn't read past Waid though so I don't know (or care) what Bedard or Shooter did with the team.
Looking at all of your lists of faves, I think my preferences are at odds with most of you. Unlike most posters of this site, I do definitely like most of the guys on the team more than most of the girls, but I do have plenty of females in my top 30. The only reason I haven't been throwing lots of points their way in this game so far is because I know I can trust most of you to keep them safe.
My top 4 Legionnaires are usually Gim, Lyle, Chuck and Troy (in that order). Filling out the rest of my top 30 would probably be (in no particular order) - Laurel, Blok, Ral, Xao, Rokk, Nura, Gates, Drura, Jacques, Val, Zoe, Ayla, Pol, Dyrk, Lar, Hart, Lydda, Berta, Brek, Tasmia, Thom, Dirk, Tellus, Luornu, Jeckie and Jenni.
(But it was extremely hard limiting it to just those 30 and if you were to ask me again in 5 minutes I'd probably have swapped 5-10 of them for different members.)
I also have an unhealthy amount of love for Lana as Insect Queen and especially all things Pete Ross, but I see them as more Legion supporting characters.

I wouldn't say we're exactly at odds with one another. Yes, I did target Thom, Dirk, Rokk and Lyle, but it wasn't so much because I disliked them. I just saw them as big threats in this game because I liked several others more. Plenty of those on your list are on mine - Zoe, Gates, XS, Drura, Berta, Brek, Chuck, Laurel, Tasmia.
I agree with you that having all these characters makes the Legion universe so much richer. Would love for all of them to be members, really.
It's funny, really - Cosmic Boy and Invisible Kid used to be in my Top Ten. I don't dislike them at all. Ditto Timber Wolf, another Legionnaire I helped eliminate.
