I'm about as nelly as they come and even I find what is known about this character so far to be offensive. Glad I am not a Titans fan!

YOUNG AVENGERS should have been published back when I was a kid. Wiccan and Hulkling have always been portrayed as a normal couple-- I do admit to being surprised when they did this scene of them going to bed together, but as you said, there was nothing at all gratuitious about it.
I wish YA wasn't published so sporadically, but IMO it is the best comic being published and is always worth the wait.

Exactly. That scene above could have used a guy and a girl, or two girls, and nothing would change. Plus, there is no reason for anyone to be outraged by it.
This (plus the Power Boy-Gravity Kid relationship) are just wonderful for showing people that a homosexual relationship can be just as "normal" and HAPPY as any hetero one.

Hearing Bunker’s backstory gave me something to think about because it was different and upbeat. But, my brother’s gay, and he was turned off by the idea. “Why do we HAVE to have stereotypes?” Then I asked how he would’ve felt if there was a character who was totally flamboyant but heterosexual. Response was the same. So I ask why does he have to be a flamboyant gay teen? Why can’t he just be gay? The only way the writers are going to really break boundaries is by not making a big deal about race, gender, religion, or orientation. I mean, it’s not like any of it should matter in the long run. The staff’s heart is in the right place, but, this just feels off to me.

Well, I'm not gay myself, but just to offer an opinion or two:
Plenty of superheroes that we are expected to accept as straight are pretty damn flamboyant.
I don't think the problem is that a gay dude is flamboyant. The problem is that if he's the only gay dude in continuity, he's expected to sum up the behaviors and attitudes of every gay reader/fan there is. And that's a problem, because obviously all LGBT folks don't behave the same way.
So the obvious solution is for there to be more than one gay protagonist in continuity, and for them not to all have interchangeable powers, origins, appearances, and mannerisms.

scans_daily posted some pages if you're interested. The reaction over there seems pretty positive.
