IIRC, it was EDE who wrote the sequence in Matter-Eater Lad: The Series that has Dr. Mayavale telling about his former life (and death) as Pickles the puppy.
But knowing it inspired your dog's name is just about one of my proudest Legion World moments!

The wing joint we just got back from patronizing this evening actually has fried pickles on their menu. We've been going there for two years and I've yet to work up the nerve to try one...
