Another Star Wars. At the same time, I'm worried and uninterested.
This would be the same if George Lucas was doing it.
Why? Because my impression of the existing six is now quite poor, and no future works can fix that.
Star Wars had potential. Once. After Revenge of the Sith, I thought about how it could have gone differently. I read The Secret History of Star Wars. I realized that there had been opportunities to take the story in interesting ways, but most of those routes weren't taken and are now closed off by what was already done.
Even any story with new characters is limited by the established universe, which I now consider almost as tired as Star Trek's, if rather less dysfunctional.

Star Wars was the first movie I saw, old enough to remember, as a child at the drive-in. The first was fun because it was so different. Then things were okay. Then, they did the prequels and I lost all interest. My wife still loves it, but with all the tinkering, the characters that make you go "hunh", and the soulessness of it (i feel), its just not my thing anymore.
I'd rather see new Firefly stuff...even if they do a "ten years later". and given how much I disliked that portion of legion history, that's saying something.

Star Wars might well blossom away from George Lucas. I'm tentatively optimistic.
OTOH, I'm about ready for another Star Trek TV franchise. Possibly some sort of Starfleet Academy show about a bunch of cadets getting into all sorts of futuristic shenanigans.

I still think they made a huge mistake with the Star Trek reboot by making it a film rather than a series.

I just saw a Star Wars lego cartoon, looking like Ninjago in a bad dream. It used ALL of the multitude of Star Wars characters, including the Clone Wars cartoon series. The show was actually very funny, especially the Darth/Anakin.
I'm kind of excited about Disney buying up Marvel and Lucafilm. I wonder whom they'll go after next?
