So did anyone pick this up? What's the "special features" like? Good presentation? Mine's ordered, unfortunately I have a month to wait for it.

I flicked through it in the store - there's a few things, the odd cover, etc (the Davis LSH80 cover, the Jimenez SF&O1 pinup, the postboot Constitution), but not that much "extra".
Oh, and the cover says "OF the Future". The solicits/etc didn't agree on that one. The cover's not as-solicited either.

There's a bunch of covers and pin-ups and Levitz and Shooter both write brief text pieces; Levitz reflects on 50 years of Legion and the changes that have been made over the years and Shooter talks about writing the Legion at 13 and what its like to return as writer today write it today.
Plus it has a really nifty gold ink cover.

Thanks guys.
So what's the cover image of? I've sen the one solicited and it looked more like Mike Grell than Neal Adams.
Hang on, is it the DC calendar flyby?

No, it's the Grell characters from the DC reprint tabloid of the 70s -- superimposed on top of duotones of Legion covers.
It looks okay, but I would have preferred the Adams cover as a wraparound.
Can't say I'm that fond of the stories showcased in this volume, but I bought it anyway.

Even though I had everything in this collection except for the Levitz & Shooter commentaries I still had to pick it up. It was nice having the two giant sized tabloid covers included since my copies are pretty beat up. Over all it did a nice job covering the different eras of the Legion. Surprisingly they didn't include any of the Cockrumn stories beyond his part in Legion #300 though. I wouldn't mind seeing a second volume.

Oh, & if it hasn't been noted already the story where Matter-eater Lad resigns include a page that had been cut out of the original story. It's a nice page that focuses on Tenz just talking to Karate Kid about his power not being the greatest. This page was also included in the archive volume that had that story. For the longest time it was a source of frustrating to this M-E Lad fan to only have the page available in black & white!

I like it.
So on page 15 of the Adult legion story (that would be pg. 62 of 1050) we see Kal brainstorming about the identity of the mystery burglar. His epiphany happens as he casually wanders past a group of statues of dead Legionnaires.
No big thing there, I often wander into mausoleums when I'm lost in thought too.
Nope, the mystery is the the statue stage right of Ferro lad. We see Shady again and Andrew but who the heck is Power Boy?

I also flipped through this at the comic book shop. It reprints the very first Legion Story I read, Superboy & the Legion of Superheroes #212. Although they left off the Night Girl back-up story.

There was a Power Boy that appeared in the Legion Academy along with Dawnstar, Shadow Kid & Laurel Kent(?) He was purple & had super strength. I think he died at some point during the 5yr gap run.

Ok, another question related to one of the reprints in 1050..
Why is Saturn Queen such a bi*ch? Look at the visuals, she always looks like she's ticked off about something.
