I remember a thread like this on one of the old boards....basicly we try to name all the songs that mention a superhero. I knock a few of the obvious ones out of the way

AS HEARD ON THE "SMALLVILLE" SOUNDTRACK!

Jerusalem - Belouis Some

lyrics include a line

"And Superman cries for a little help"

hey wasn't Green Lantern also mentioned in that "Sunshine Superman" song? and if memory serves me back in the 90's a heavy metal band put out an album called Wolverine's rage or Wolverine's revenge, or something like that. the whole album was dedicated to Wolverine if you can believe that?

The Kinks did two songs mentioning superheroes, Captain America Calling which was really a tune about the mighty USA asking for help and (I want to fly like) Superman.

THE TRUTH HURTS by Seduction Of the Innocent, featured the line, "In brightest day in blackest night no evil shall escape my sight".

There's a Marcy Playground song that references Dr. Doom, I think its called Secret Squirrel. Also there's Weezer's Im the Garage, which references Kitty Pryde and Nightcrawler too.

For those who didn't check my previous links this is the ULTIMATE Legion song. The group, Yoyodyne, seems to have disappeared but I've contacted a record store in San Francisco that was said to carry the album this song came from.

but they surely must have known as super powers go
bouncing round and splitting up were not that much to show
the things that they did to the Chlorophyll Kid
all must have seemed like a ploy

Oh yeah, I forgot that XTC also did "That's Really Super, Supergirl."

and how can we forget Genesis' "Land of Confusion".

I just loved that video. Ronald Regan in a Superman suit still makes me laugh.
