EARTH:


<The light above the crowd begins to dim as the first crescent of the moon moves before the sun. A wave of excitement passes through the crowd as the shadow moves further and further across the orb>

<Exnihil - excited as well - reaches into his pocket to retrieve the black diamond>


All right, black diamond, time to earn your keep.


<Ex holds it to his eye and casts his gaze skyward toward the expanding eclipse>

<The shadow cast below begins expanding its reach, spreading slowly across the crowd>

<Birds go silent>

<The wind picks up>

<Through the diamond, Ex sees the sun being further and further blotted out - its light thinning to nothing but a small corona as the eclipse reaches its totality>

<It is a ring of fire in the sky and - the odd thought suddenly crosses his mind - a ring of fire in his heart.>


I... I feel strange... I... I don't think this is just something I ate.


<As the light of the eclipse is refracted through the diamond and into Exnihil's eyes, shuddering waves begin to rack him. A fantastic change begins to sweep over his features... and his mind>


What's happening to me?

I... I'm being transformed...

Into someone greater... stronger... than that fool, Exnihil!

ARRRRRRRRRRRGHHHHH!!!


<Clutching his skull, Exnihil falls to the ground, writhing in pain>

Hmm if only I could make an earth sized time cube .... Then we could spin it through and go back before the eclipse and avoid all the mess that is surely to come from an extra vowel!


Those Os at the end of names always give me the shivers.
