OK, I don't know if anyone wants to do this. Basically you need to recast a TV show or movie with Legionnaires or Legion related characters. You should also provide a little of your reasoning for your choice. Then provide a new show and movie for the next poster to cast.
For example: In Recasting Leave it to Beaver, I'd pick
The Beaver: Ultra Boy (because it fits with what I titled this thread)
Wally Cleaver: Mon-el because he's was Superboy's big brother
Ward Cleaver: Brainiac 5 because of all the legionnaires, he's the one I picture holdiong down a 9-5 office job and smoknig a pipe.
June Cleaver: Supergirl because that is who Brainiac 5 would marry
Eddie Haskell: Nemesis Kid Because he was nice to the Legionnaires faces while plotting to put one over on them.
So, let's start.
Recast Start Trek (the original series)

Scotty - Chuck - mostly because of his use in this role during the previous boot
Chekov - Gim - always the best pilot
and ummm, that other guy - Cham, not sure why, seems to fit for me.
NEXT: Recast "Eight Is Enough"
Nevermind that might be too obscure for so early in the game. Let's recast Star Wars IV (the original movie) next.

Dorothy: Shrinking Violet - because she is a "little" girl but with inner strenght
Scarecrow: Quislet - because of both have kind of goofy fun-loving personalities (and Brainy would have been an obvious choice)
Tin Woodsman: Saturn Girl - because both have cold stiff exteriors but care for others deeply (and again because Ferro Lad is an obvious choice)
Cowardly Lion: Timber Wolf - because I am going for one obvious one
the Wizard: RJ Brand - Benefactor & mentor
Wicked Witch of the West: the Emerald Empress - Great power, evil, & green
Glinda the Good Witch: Mysa - OK two obvious choices.
Next: recast Seinfeld

Jerry: Mon-El - Jerry would love being someone who is almost, but not quite Superman.
Elaine: Luornu - Of the women, she seems to be the one most at home with comedy.
George: Bouncing Boy - A bit obvious, but it fits so well.
Kramer: Matter-Eater Lad - Who else?
Next: Recast Bewitched
-------------------- The only character in all of literature who has been described as "badnass" while using the phrase "vile miscreant."

Samantha -- White Witch, natch Sam's twin sister -- Shadow Lass. She's got some attitude and the darkness contrasts with Mysa's paleness Darren1 (Dick York) -- Thom. Cuz he's flummoxed all the time. Darren2 (Dick Seargent) -- Brainy. Darren 2 was more of a curmudgeon and even condescending to Sam at times. Tabitha -- Kid QII. Unpredictable with the powers. Sam's mom -- Dream Girl. Nura liked to tease Mysa for being goody-goody at times.
Next: recast The A-Team.

Colonel John "Hannibal" Smith: Lightning Lad - He has the leadership skills and likes to get in on the action
Captain "Howlin' Mad" Murdock: Quislet - for the fun-loving unpredictability of the character
Lieutenant Templeton "Face" Peck: Sun Boy - also a womanizer and pretty boy
Sergeant Bosco "B.A." Baracus: Blok - Rock solid and no sense of humor
NEXT: recast Casablanca

CASABLANCA: Rick -- Timberwolf: A loner looking for a cause and loses the girl. Ilsa -- Imra: most likely to reject true love for the mission. Lazlo -- Mon-el: the inspirational hero Capt Renault -- Tenzil: always with the scam and the wit. Maj Strasser (Nazi)-- threeboot Brainy: he's got a tyrranical streak Sydney Greenstreet -- Ultra Boy: he'd have to gain some weight, but Jo's most likely to be a gangster. Peter Lorre -- Gates: simply for physical resemblence.

Gee, maybe I should have put this in "Kill this thread!"
Okay, I'll recast The Sound of Music myself.
Maria - Andromeda (see the aforementioned Alice answer) Captain von Trapp - Cosmic Boy (who else?) Liesl - Phantom Girl (Always seemed liked she'd be a cool big sister) Friedrich - Lightning Lad (It just sorta fits) Luisa - Saturn Girl (Notices everything) Kurt - Sun Boy (Incorrigible) Birgitta - Light Lass (Giggly) Marta - Dream Girl (Looks forward to things and she'd look kinda cute with a pink parasol) Gretl - Shrinking Violet (duh!)
Okay, let's go a different way: Next recast: I Love Lucy

Lucy: Kinetrix - She's a red-head and also assertive, like Lucy was
Ricky: Invisible Kid - both are talented individuals
Ethel: Shrinking Violet - Both go along with the Alpha person. Plus she and Kinetrix were close friends
Fred: RJ Brande - It's the age thing. Vivian Vance always complained about the age difference between her and William Frawley
Little Ricky: little Validus Ranzz

Gladly. (and I bet you thought you killed this thread)
President Josiah (Jed) Bartlett- Cosmic Boy. The leader with a strong moral compass and ability to compromise when necessary.(This was a close one between Cos and the reboot Lyle, and I think that either would fit.)
First Lady Abigail Bartlett- Projectra (Sensor Girl). A strong leader comfortable with diplomatic functions.
Leo McGarry- R.J. Brande. The power behind the throne.
Toby Ziegler- Brainiac 5. Unwilling to change once an opinion is formed.
Josh Lyman- Ultra Boy. Brash, impulsive, and rushes headlong into glorious disasters.
Sam Seaborn- Sun Boy. Preboot Dirk had some smarts and was never given enough props.
Donna Moss- Shrinking Violet. Soft and shy on the outside, but solid as stone when the chips are down.
C.J. Cregg- Saturn Girl. She's always good with the P.R.
Recast Desperate Housewives (This oughtta be good!)
