Year Three: Seahorse’s Term
Part II: The New Reinvigorated LMB

Real History: At the close of Year Two’s continuity, and with the creation of the Emessage forum, there was a true, genuine sense that the LMB had been reinvigorated. The long period of troubles had ended, and activity had increased to what it had once been and then surpassed it. New members, such as Stu and Terrence, added new blood to the LMB, and more were on the way. New members Yellow Kid, Duplicate Man, the Boy with Ultra Powers and Wonder Boy were just some to name a few. The L* Board, the long-time home of the LMB had died, but in it’s place the Emessage forum was created, making a new home for the LMB—and the second ‘true’ home they ever had. Once again, Cru ensured the LMB would have a home.

The membership became strong again and many people were brought back into the fold, encouraged by the activity of other posters. Much of this credit can and should be given to Stu and Seahorse, for getting the ball rolling—in fact, Seahorse’s election as leader is a tribute to this. The mission of the LMB remained as clear as ever, to continue to tighten and strengthen Legion fandom and to promote the LSH comic book. However, the knowledge that the LMB had grown into such a tight network of friends indirectly caused the LMB to have another equally as important goal—to continue building the community of friendship that was the Legion of Message Board Posters. A new focus on staying together and not losing touch, as well as caring for each other on a much more personnel level had subtly established itself as LMB dogma.

Seahorse took on a new mission as leader: to bring back LMBers into the fold that had been lost along the way. In an act of true leadership, he began emailing ‘lost’ LMBers to join them at their new Emessage forum, so they would know where to find them. Most did not answer the call, not having current email addresses. Some would, over time. The LMB also believed that it was of the utmost importance to bring back one of the most gentle, loving and generous of all of the LMB: Shady. And so with a heartfelt push, they brought her back into the fold, to join them in this newly optimistic period.

After a brief “Time of Troubles”, the LMB emerged as strong as ever, and would remain so throughout Year Three. “Reinvigorated”, it began its Silver Age of posting.

In Continuity:

With the “Time of Troubles” and Zero Hour behind them, the LMB forged ahead with a renewed sense of optimism and purpose. Looking to expand its membership and bring back ‘lost’ LMBers, and reestablish itself as a force to be reckoned with. Year Three arrived, and the LMB looked to a bold new era.

Year Three: Seahorse’s Term
Part III: The Emessage Forum: the Second Great Home of the LMB

Real History: After the destruction of the L* Board, the LMB moved to its next great home, the Emessage Forum, which truly was it’s second home (there really have only been three, the last being Legion World). The L* Board had been loved by the LMBers there, and held in great reverence, making the LMB inclined to be very picky about where they were posting. However, the Emessage forum had a certain charm to it that endeared it to the LMB, and it quickly took on the role of the L* Board.

It had been found by Newcru, who, as always, ensured that the LMB had a place to call home. Instantly, it began generating an enormous amount of traffic and the usual LMB shenanigans ensued, with tons of off-topic, nonsense threads, as well as personnel threads, which had become common. Threads about LMB continuity were also a constant and old threads from the L* Board were reborn on the Emessage forum, such as “Guess Who?” and “Ask MLLASH” (the latter now being Vol. 3).

The LMB also posted in other places as well:

Yahoo Group : Although the Emessage Forum was the LMB’s home, the Yahoo group was and always will be the “Home Base” of the LMB. This has always been the true home to talk about LMB business and act as a place to come to when other boards were down and things were too crazy in certain places. It has been the most reliable of head-quarters. Despite having the Emessage forum, the LMB also was very active in the Yahoo Group during this period.

The LMBP Outpost : the Outpost is not technically a message board, but it is a website full of class that acts as another Headquarters for the LMB. Like the Yahoo Group and Emessage Forum, it was created by Newcru and is a tribute to our history. Created before this period and still up today (and constantly being updated), the Outpost is always the classy main headquarters of the LMB.

The DC Boards : the one major problem with the Emessage forum was that it was a closed forum that no one really knew how to get to unless they were part of the LMB. This seriously posed a problem in the constant recruiting new LMBers. The DCMB’s, which had once been the “Legion of Super Heroes Board” and “Legionnaires Board” had become the “Legion Board” and still maintained a strong level of activity from other posters that were fans and critics of the Legion comic book. The LMB ensured that they would find new members, build new friendships, stay involved in Legion fandom and make their presence be known by actively participating on the new Legion Board in the DCMBs. Some LMBers, such as Zoe’s Love Slave and Sketch Lad went through periods were they posted almost exclusively on the DCMBs, although they were no less a part of the LMB or it’s craziness.

LegionPics: LegionPics acted as another major forum for Legion fandom, and saw a variety of LMBers post there. Like the DCMBs, it was a board that had a large spectrum of posters, as well as creators. Some LMBers maintained a presence there, although there were many that never ventured over there, making LegionPics something more to the side of the LMB and central to Legion fandom in general. It would continue to get LMB traffic for some time.

Super Hero Chat: The Super Hero Chat continued to exist during this period, although its days of having LMB traffic had come to an end by this point. Every once in awhile, an LMBer would venture over there, but it never maintained the type of traffic that any of the other forums did.

In Continuity:

With their old Headquarters destroyed by Yellow Kid and the fate of the universe looking grim, Crusader and Princess Crujectra saved the LMB in an act that also created the LMBP Outpost, which would act as their new home. Once they began to get re-organized under Seahorse and Beagle Boy, the LMB Outpost was named the new headquarters and would remain so for some time.

Year Three: Seahorse’s Term
Part IV: Adventures and Anecdotes during Seahorse’s Term

The LMBP Outpost With Zero Hour over, the LMB reorganizes at their new home, created by Crusader and Princess Crujectra. Seahorse and Beagle Boy are elected as the new leader and deputy leader of the LMB, and the LMB hold a ceremony re-swearing the oath they all took during their inductions. New members Iron Rat and Lost in Lust Lad are formally inducted.

Farewell to Friends Re-organized, the LMB take some time to honor those that fell in the newly created “Hall of Fallen Heroes” wing of the Outpost. Fallen LMBers Foxy Roxy, Lexbose, Silicon Sandra, Super Lad Kid, G. Stallion, Picard’s Sexy Grandson and Brad Pitt’s Sexier Brother join Food-Maker Kid and Tsarin Kid among the statues.

LMB: Meet Wonder Boy for the First Time…Again! The LMB are introduced to Wonder Boy, although they recently met a future version of him when fighting during Zero Hour. Wonder Boy , looking to prove he has what it takes to join the LMB, is surprised by the LMB when they make him go on a variety of silly missions, since they know he’s pre-destined to join the team in the future anyway. He then joins the team.

Homecoming Queen! The LMB are introduced to Homecoming Queen, a very young lady looking to join the LMB, although it appears she may only be doing so to get close to what she refers to as “all the hotties!”, especially Beagle Boy. Although annoyed with her at first, she begins to grow on them, and soon Homecoming Queen becomes the newest member of the LMB. However, there is still some mystery as to who she actually is… Note- Homecoming Queen was an alt ID that joined the LMB, although her identity has remained somewhat of a mystery to the general public.

Duplicate Man and the Super Red Army of Space Another brave hero, Duplicate Man, seeks out the LMB to join them, and arrives at the perfect time! The Super Red Army of Space, looking for revenge on the LMB and hoping to encourage a lurking class revolution, attack Earth with only Lucien Lad, Seahorse, Looks that Kill Lad, Space Tart and Lost in Lust Lad to defend it! Duplicate Man , whose powers are perfect for fighting such a vast array of foes, lends a helping hand and is accepted into the LMB.

Showdown with the Primary Color Gang! The battle that has been brewing since Yellow Kid destroyed the old LMB Headquarters erupts, as the Primary Color Gang lures the LMB into a trap! Dev-Em, Beagle Boy, LardLad, Kid Therod, Dedman and Grey Birdboy go one on one with the PC Gang, which culminates in a final victory for the LMB! In a moment of pure rage, Kid Blackout prepared to destroy them all, but is stopped only by his teammate Yellow Kid! The LMB is surprised by Yellow Kid’s actions and the possible honor he might have…

Krispy Queen and the Donut Dictator: The Monarchs of the Donut Dimension enter UP space and begin an invasion, which can only be brought down by the LMB! Seahorse, Iron Rat, Lash Lad, Kid Psychout, Midnight Son and Princess Crujectra attempt to put it down, until Seahorse comes up with the brilliant plan of smushing the donut dominions together into one big donut house, where LMBer Stately Wayne Manor Eater Lad can then consume them!

-Around this time, Iron Rat and Princess Crujectra begin dating.

-Space Tart continues to have small flings with a variety of LMBers, but prefers to stay away from anything serious.

-Crusader and Maxx stay serious with one another

-Beagle Boy attempts to explain to Amber (aka Homecoming Queen) that he does not like girls that way.

The boy with Ultra Powers Overwhelmed by the tremendous response for new members, the LMB are unsure of continuing their tryouts, when the handsome young man known as the boy with Ultra powers wandered into the Outpost looking to join the team. Impressed with his enthusiasm, charisma and downright good looks, the LMB accepts Ultra Matt as the newest member.

The First Lady of the LMBP After being away from her for some time, the LMB decide that they can no longer stand it and they go searching for Shady. Explaining to her how much she means to them, and how much they need her as a group, the LMB are able to remind Shady of the good times and bring her back into the fold. Shadowplay in Candlelight Lass rejoins the LMB!

Crossroads for Yellow Kid! LMB nemesis Yellow Kid finds himself at a crossroads after recent events and reevaluates his life. After reaching a decision, he attacks LMB headquarters and squares off with Grey Birdboy, LardLad and Lash Lad…only to then explain that he’s proving his worth and wants to join the side of good—and join the LMB! They accept him, and Yellow Kid becomes the newest member of the LMB. Note- Yellow Kid joined roughly around this time, although his battles with the LMB have been retroactively established.

The Donut Dozen! Krispy Queen and the Donut Dictator return for revenge on the LMB, this time with ten of their most elite donut warriors! New LMBers Duplicate Man, Ultra Matt, Homecoming Queen and Wonder Boy join Sketch Lad, Galahadran, Rhino, Lash Lad, Space Tart and Iron Rat, and a rumble ensues!

Silence of the Salad Tossing LardLad, Lucien Lad, Dedman and Princess Crujectra find themselves in an awkward position, as they are suddenly trapped during Monitor duty by Salad-Tosser Lord! The evil mastermind, planning to use them for his own hideous ends, forces them to battle him without the use of their powers.

Yellow Kid versus the Primary Color Gang the Primary Color Gang, or what’s left of them, looks for revenge on Yellow Kid for joining the LMB! They attack him while he’s training with Ultra Matt, Duplicate Man, Homecoming Queen and Wonder Boy, as well as Shady.

Off With Their Heads! The LMB are introduced to their newest foe: Catherine the Great, sent forward in time, and looking to make the universe bow before her as it’s new Czarina. Her methods are terrible and persuasive, as well as sado-masochistic, and the LMB must decide if they like this or not…

Rody the Super-Rat The LMB are introduced to another menace, Rody the Super Rat . Looking mainly to annoy them, especially those stuck on monitor duty, Rody continues to do a variety of pranks keeping the LMB busy for the day. Finally, a variety of LMBers track him down and send him on his way. Note- Rody the Super Rat was an alt ID that began posting with the LMB.

Year Three: Seahorse’s Term
Part V: The Election of Iron Rat and Faraway Lad

Real History: Seahorse and Beagle Boy remained strong leaders throughout their term and guided the LMBP through their resurgence, helping push forward this new explosive era. Things would not slow down for some time, and this newly reinvigorated LMB remained that way throughout the next few periods of leadership, particularly during the next term, where the activity continued to explode exponentially. At the close of Seahorse’s term, the LMB prepared for the next elections and began the nomination process. Like the previous election period, the mud-slinging and craziness was an ever-present factor, although it never reached the height of the year two shenanigans, something that truly defined that era. These elections were a continuation of the this new feeling of expansion of progress, and Iron Rat (aka StuRat) and Faraway Lad were elected as leader and deputy leader of the LMB.

The nominees for this election were:

Dev-Em (Shift Kid)
LardLad
Faraway Lad
StuRat
Terrence (Lost in Lust Lad)

It’s no surprise that Stu, who had become such a major poster in such a short time, was elected leader, which shows how prominent he had become.

In Continuity:

Seahorse and Beagle Boy finished out their terms, helping usher in a new era of optimism, and prepared the LMB for its next round of elections. Relatively new LMBer Iron Rat was elected as LMB Leader with Faraway Lad as his Deputy Leader.

Year Three: StuRat's Term
Part I: A Continuation of Energy and Vigor

StuRat and Faraway Lad began their term as leaders during a quick and easy transition from Seahorse and Beagle Boy’s term. The energy and optimism that characterized Seahorse’s term as leader did not go away in the slightest during Stu’s term, and if anything, continued to increase exponentially throughout. This truly was a Silver Age of LMB posting, as activity was at an all-time highest, matching the same level that once existed during the beginning months of the LMB. The newer posters that had recently joined jumped right in and felt like old friends, and the older posters found themselves posting with a vengeance once again.

The tightening of friendships among the members of the LMB was an ever-present occurrence, as the group continued to grow natural bonds. The Emessage forum served as a the new home to the LMB, although it soon stopped feeling new and began feeling like it had been where they were supposed to be all along.

Throughout Stu’s term as leader, the vigor and the energy, as well as the care-free fun and optimism remained high.

Year Three: StuRat's Term
Part II: Adventures and Anecdotes during StuRat’s Term

Introducing Poverty Lad! At the very beginning of the Iron Rat’s term as leader, the LMB was introduced to a bold newcomer, known as Poverty Lad! Like all great meetings of young heroes, a fight erupted at first, as Poverty Lad squared off with Lash Lad and Beagle Boy, although they eventually saw he was just showing them his skills. Bold, brash and funny, Poverty Lad impressed the LMB, and became it’s newest member!

Historical Note on Poverty Lad- From the onset, Poverty Lad joined the LMB and became a prominent poster among them. He is also one of the few posters to ever consistently stay an active member of the LMB from his arrival, and has remained prominent throughout up until the present day.

How do you Measure a Czar? The LMB are surprise attacked by their new nemesis Catherine the Great, as the Czarina attempts to imprison all of the males and make the ‘largest’ one her Czar, out of revenge for LardLad accidentally killing her favorite horse! Crusader, Grey Birdboy, LardLad, Duplicate Man, Faraway Lad and Beagle Boy look to Shady for help after being kidnapped, although they are surprised to see her gain help from none other than LMB rookie Homecoming Queen!

-Dev-Em (formally Anchor Boy) undergoes a transformation, as his Durlan side begins overpowering his Daxamite, and he becomes full Durlan. Going along with the metamorphosis, he changes his name to Shift Kid !

Dial H for HOMO! On a routine sweep of crime in the galaxy, the LMB find themselves being helped by a variety of super-powered homoerotic super heroes, who help them defeat the Super Crooks of Galaxy Zeta! Iron Rat, Lucien Lad, Lost in Lust Lad and Princess Crujectra soon discover that it’s the work of one hero and his H dial that is responsible, and they quickly invite Dial H for HOMO into the LMB!

Historical Note on Mart - Mart (aka Dial H for HOMO), like Terrence before him (aka Lost in Lust Lad) had been longtime DCMB posters, and had interacted with different LMBers at different boards before hand. Similar to Terrence joining a few months earlier, Mart came over to the Yahoo Group after Stu personally invited him, and became an active member of the LMB, although he had been a veteran message board poster for years.

A Horse of a Different Color LMB Villainess Catherine the Great returned to battle the LMB, still looking to make the ‘largest’ LMBer her love slave! This time, she enlisted the help of the remnants of former LMB villain group the Primary Color Gang, and they battled a collective group of LMBers: LardLad, Space Tart, Dedman, Looks that Kill Lad, Yellow Kid, Poverty Lad, Ultra Matt, Seahorse and Kid Therod.

-Wonder Boy begins to decrease his involvement in the LMB, and soon leaves the team.

The Archduke of Time! While on Monitor Duty, Sketch Lad, Faraway Lad, Galahadran, Space Tart, Raging Bull and Shift Kid are suddenly alerted to a time storm near the Outpost! Fully expecting the Time Mouse Trapper, they are surprised to see a brand new LMB enemy: the Archduke of Time!

-For months, Cobalt Kid waged a private war with Dark Conan and the Pious One (Dr. Albert Hoffman), trying to escape their dimension and get away from highly traumatic torture. Finally he tricked the Dr. Hoffman put his ‘essence’ into the body of a mindless Debauchery Damsel. Once Dr. Hoffman had done so, Cobalt was then able to defeat him using the weaknesses of Debauchery Damsel’s body, which he trapped the Pious One in, and then capture Dark Conan and the doctor. He returned to the true universe and brought them in the science police. Five days later, the dead body of Debauchery Damsel is found. Note- the full story of this can be found in “The Tale of Dr. Albert Hoffman "

Back in the Fold: Cobalt Kid! Old LMB enemy Cali Flower plans a little caper, and finds herself in trouble with Kid Therod, LardLad and Lash Lad. As they plan to apprehend her, they find someone else is able to get to her first, and capture her in a way that he made famous throughout his whole career. Cobalt Kid returned to the fold and reunited with his fellow LMBers.

-From the get-go of Cobalt Kid’s return, Space Tart was curious to see what that meant for them. At first, she refused to talk to him, believing that he had abandoned her a year earlier.

Bucky the Super Beaver A new annoyance arises in the form of Bucky the Super Beaver, whose annoying antics and lisp serve to bother the LMB! Rhino, Stately Wayne Manor Eater Lad, Poverty Lad, Kid Psychout and Shady attempt to put a stop to his antics. Note- Bucky the Super Beaver is an alt ID that began posting with the LMB at this time.

The Inflatable Five The LMB are horrified to learn that the sex-toys they keep in their broom closet have magically been turned into a new team of super-villains bent on destroying them! Tharcock, Vaginimus, Hando, the Emerald Emperor and the Emerald Dildo of Ekron, and Bondager are the Inflatable Five! Immediately, the LMB get deeply involved in this case and fight back. Eventually, the LMB are able to get the Emerald Dildo to tickle Vaginimus into a massive explosion that subdues the Inflatable Five. Note- this was an actual tag team story titled “The Inflatable Five”, started by LardLad on the Emessage forum, and may have been the only ‘true’ tag team story on that forum.

The Super-Beaver and the Super-Rat Team Up! Bucky and Rody team up to put the LMB through all kinds of annoying hell, and mayhem ensues! LardLad, Lash Lad, Space Tart, Iron Rat, Poverty Lad, Lucien Lad, Cobalt Kid, Duplicate Man, Princess Crujectra, Yellow Kid, Dedman, Seahorse, Looks that Kill Lad, Crusader, Ultra Matt and Homecoming Queen are all sucked into annoying antics. By the end, LardLad is so enraged that he promises revenge on Bucky!

-Homecoming Queen remains a bit of an enigma among the LMB, and many are curious to her identity. New LMBer Poverty Lad and recently returned LMBer Cobalt Kid are especially curious, while Seahorse, Iron Rat and Lash Lad, who may know the truth, remain silent. Amber’s infatuation with Beagle Boy continues.

-Princess Crujectra becomes aware of a secret that she does not wish to tell StuRat, her current boyfriend. Even her brother Crusader and Maxx his boyfriend are kept out of the loop.

The Alternate Earth Homecoming Queen! The LMB are shocked to find a new visitor to their Earth, a girl who resembles Homecoming Queen, although she has striking differences. They learn her name is Umber, and she is from another reality/Earth, that is remarkably similar to the LMB! Umber, accompanied by her three boys, Ashe, Brock and Cliff, take refuge with the LMB and Umber becomes the team’s newest member. Cobalt Kid, LardLad and Lucien Lad, who had theorized years earlier on a possible alternate Earth that housed a female Seahorse, are curious to the connection but are unable to breach the possible barrier, even with the help of Faraway Lad. Homecoming Queen’s true identity remains a mystery (and remains so for years), as does Umber’s, although it is established that they are alternate reality versions of each other. They become quick best friends. Note- Umber is an alt ID that began posting with the LMB at this time.

Lash of 2 Worlds! With reality warped so strangely, Lucien Lad, Faraway Lad, Iron Rat, Raging Bull and Crusader investigate, and are surprised to see another portal open up to yet another dimension. This time, someone strikingly similar to Lash Lad comes through: although he is not similar at all in personality! Known simply as Michael Lorenzo Lash, he is a crude, brash villain, looking to take what he can for himself! The Reverse Lash quickly is drawn into battle with the LMB, who are joined by Homecoming Queen and Umber, Duplicate Man and Cobalt Kid to defeat him. Note-this story is inspired by Stu’s posts on the Emessage forum during this period under the name “Michael Lorenzo Lash”, and Eryk Davis Ester’s retroactive LMB tale “Lash of Two Worlds!”

LardLad Versus Bucky the Super Beaver Still angry about the LMB being played for fools, LardLad reloads the old shotgun he used to kill Psychotic Beaver a year earlier and begins hunting down Bucky the Super Beaver. The LMB are a little nervous about Lardy’s bloodlust in the matter, and Cobalt Kid, Faraway Lad, Shady, Princess Crujectra, Dedman, and Yellow Kid look to stop things before violence gets out of control. Eventually, Lardy shows that he wasn’t going to kill Bucky after all, although some LMBers aren’t convinced.

Who is Homecoming Queen? After weeks of not knowing the truth, Cobalt Kid and Poverty Lad finally attempt to learn the truth about the origins of Homecoming Queen. In a secret mission involving sheep, cheerleader outfits and pom-poms, they attempt to uncover the mystery, but ultimately fail. The LMB have a good laugh at the whole event, especially Seahorse, Lash Lad and Iron Rat. One thing to come of this, however, is Space Tart realizing that the old Cobalt Kid that she loved is the one that is truly back this time, unlike his last stint with the team. She begins to warm up and starts speaking to him again.

Son of Gay Disco Island! F. L. Acid, whose father once controlled Gay Disco Island, vows to have revenge on the LMB after his father dies in prison, although his true motives are much more personnel. He kidnaps Lash Lad, Seahorse, Looks that Kill Lad, Lucien Lad, Crusader and Ultra Matt, looking to enslave them for his own devious ends, although by imprisoning them along with the barbarian slave miners of Gay Disco Island, he’s secretly given them no reason to ever do much of anything else! Ironically, he experiences his own epiphany when he investigates why the imprisonment did not have the effect he planned…

The Mad Moby-Dick Army of Middlefinger! Middlefinger III, a former weapons manufacturer and enemy of Shift Kid before when he was a member of the Anti-Intelligence Corps, sought his revenge on the LMB by launching an army of Super Moby Dicks of Space with laser beams on their foreheads against the LMB! After killing Middlefinger II in prison, he assumed the Middlefinger name and attacked, capturing Dev in a lead prison. The combined might of LardLad, Lash Lad, Faraway Lad, Lucien Lad, Ultra Matt, Looks that Kill Lad, Yellow Kid, Iron Rat, Seahorse and Poverty Lad fended off the Super Moby Dicks, while LMB ladies Shady, Space Tart, Homecoming Queen and Princess Crujectra broke Shift Kid free so he could finish off Middlefinger! Unfortunately, Middlefinger III died in the middle of battle, when he choked on the sun-flower seeds he was eating! (Ironically, Middlefinger IV was a supplier of narcotic sun-flower seeds…) Note- this is a retconned tale (like the first five Middlefinger stories), inspired by ideas from Eyrk Davis Ester and Cobalt Kid

-Cobalt and Space Tart decide to begin dating again, although it is not a monogamous relationship (similar to their old relationship). They date various others (some LMBers) on the side.

Year Three: StuRat's Term
Part III: The Remarkable Worlds of Phineas B. Fuddle

Real History: Towards the middle to end of Stu’s term as leader, circa late November 2001, the Emessage Forum was still the major (and much beloved home) of the LMB, with the Yahoo Group also receiving an enormous amount of attention. However, there was always a bit of a yearning among older LMBers for the craziness of the DC Boards. Almost by accident, that craziness came back.

It was MLLASH who discovered the much abandoned message board of “The Remarkable Worlds of Phineas B. Fuddle” on the DCMB’s, under the Milestone section. In its history, the message board had only had two topics, both of which had been long abandoned months ago. It received no traffic and had no active topics. It truly shouldn’t have existed, since the comic book that it was a message board for, had been long since cancelled. At some point, it occurred to Lash that this was the perfect message board for the LMB on the DCMBs. The possibility of getting in trouble with the DCMB Moderator again made it all the more silly for the LMB to ‘take over’ another message board there.

And so it began. MLLASH began posting there and reported his discovery back to the LMB on the Yahoo Group and Emessage forum. Almost immediately a good amount of LMBers headed over and began posting. Within a week, the traffic at the Phineas Board had surpassed many of the message boards for ongoing titles within the actual DCU!

The LMB, making the message board another new home, began many of the classic LMB threads such as Guess Who?, LMB Survivor (which was becoming a classic LMB thread by then), Ask MLLASH and others. The threat of getting in trouble again definitely played a part in the fun on the Phineas Board, and so did the feeling of nostalgia for the fallen L* Board among the older posters.

The true tenor on the Phineas Board did not really kick into full gear until Faraway Lad’s term began a little later, but the madness began at the end of Stu’s term.

In continuity:

The LMB, forever exploring the universe and new ways to improve it, discover a ‘hidden’ galaxy that was previously unknown to the universe. Thye decided to begin investigating it, not as one particular mission, but as an ongoing mission to see what wonder existed there. They began to hear rumors of a man named Phineas B. Fuddle, who might be the owner/ruler of the realm. Their continuing adventures would occur in tandem with their time spent in these Remarkable Worlds.

Year Three: StuRat's Term
Part IV: The end of the Emessage Forum

As fate would have it, the finding of a new message board that quickly became a favorite of the LMB, happened at the exact point in LMB history that another much beloved board would come to its end. The Emessage forum, which had truly become a second home to the LMB after the death of the L* Board, was erased from existence, when all of its boards shut down.

The LMB had known before hand for a month that the message board might be coming to an end, although they had preferred to hope that maybe this was wrong. Many new plans began being tossed around about where the LMB should make its next home, and the question began being asked: “Where do we go from here?” Although still early on, this would later on become *thee* question of the day.

The Emessage Forum, to the chagrin of the LMB, officially ended one morning and became inaccessible. Once more, the LMB lost a beloved message board, and like the L* Board before it, the Emessage forum faded away from existence. The Yahoo Group, always the stalwart home of the LMB, became the place of refuge once more. And as mentioned, luck would have it that the Phineas Board had just been discovered and recently became a place of activity for the LMB. With the Emessage Forum gone, the LMB turned their sights to that board. However, the LMB always knew in the back of their mind that their tenor on that board would most assuredly be cut short by the moderator there.

Part V: The Election of Faraway Lad and Poverty Lad

Real History Stu and Faraway Lad continued the tradition of great leadership and led the LMB through another period of high-energy that would often be looked back at with nostalgia. At the close of StuRat’s term as leader, the LMB began the nomination process for the next leaders and held their next elections. Faraway Lad, the previous deputy leader, was elected leader of the LMB and Poverty Lad, who was relatively new to the LMB, was elected deputy leader, which is a tribute to how prominent he had become among the group.

The nominees for this election were:

Faraway Lad
Kid Psychout
LardLad
Poverty Lad
Yellow Kid

In Continuity:

Iron Rat and Faraway Lad finished out their terms and prepared the LMB for its new elections. Faraway Lad was then elected the new leader of the LMB and Poverty Lad, who had grown in prominence among the LMB, was elected the deputy leader.

Year Three: StuRat's Term
Part VI: The LMB Under StuRat

Stu’s term as leader marked a continuation of the explosive vigor that had marked Seahorse’s term before it. The reinvigorated LMB continued, with even more activity among posters, more members joining and a constant trend of older members rejoining the group.

The end of Stu’s term also marked a transition in message boards for the LMB, as the beloved Emessage Forum was destroyed and the LMB were once again left without a home. As ever, they turned to the Yahoo Group as a home base, and as luck would have it, they found a new place to exhibit their brand of craziness in the Phineas Board on the DCMBs.

Here is the LMB roster at the exact time that Stu's term as leader came to an end:

Iron Rat (leader)
Faraway Lad (deputy leader)
Lash Lad
LardLad
Shadowplay in Candlelight Lass
Cobalt Kid
Seahorse
Crusader
Grey Birdboy
Rhino
Beagle Boy
Stately Wayne Manor Eater Lad (aka Zoe's Love Slave)
Sketch Lad
Shift-Kid (aka Dev-Em)
Looks that Kill Lad
Space Tart
Lucien Lad
Midnight Son (aka Wildly Whining Boy)
Kid Therod
Kid Psychout
Galahadran
Princess Crujectra
Dedman
Raging Bull
Lost in Lust Lad (aka Terrence)
Duplicate Man
Homecoming Queen (aka Amber)
The Boy with Ultra Powers
Yellow Kid
Poverty Lad
Dial H for Homo (aka Mart)
Umber (& the Boyz)

Year Three: Faraway Lad’s Term
Part I: The Transition in Boards under Faraway Lad

The beginning of Faraway Lad’s term occurred at roughly the same time that the Emessage forum met its demise and the LMB lost yet another home. Fortunately, they had begun posting at another message board, once more at the DCMBs, on the Phineas Boards. Almost immediately, this board exploded with a plethora of activity, and soon became a major center of LMB craziness. Throughout the majority of Faraway Lad’s term, the Phineas Board would act as a home for the LMB, and was a place for some of the LMB’s most notorious shenanigans.

In addition to the Phineas Board, the Yahoo Group, as always, served as the major headquarters for the LMB. It had maintained a strong level of activity throughout its existence, but the death of the Emessage Board signaled new period of immense activity there.

By the end of Faraway Lad’s term, the Phineas Board would no longer be an option as a home for the LMB (which we will deal with shortly), and once again the LMB would have to search for a message board home.

Year Three: Faraway Lad’s Term
Part II: The Explosion of the Phineas Boards

Under Faraway Lad, LMB activity on the Phineas Board exploded. Like the L* Board and the Emessage Board before it, it took on the role as the epicenter of LMB craziness, and tons of threads followed that were off-topic, obscene, and the typical brand of LMB foolishness.

Classic LMB threads, which had followed them to the Emessage Forum from the L* Board, such as “Ask MLLASH” and “Guess Who?” became features of the Phineas Board, and new threads that had become popular on the Emessage forum, such as “LMB Survivor” did as well.

The Phineas Board also had a variety of major postathons, which had not really occurred for a long time. Some nights were even set aside in advance for large scale postathons, one in particular involving LardLad, MLLASH, Cobalt Kid and Stu, and another involving these same regulars with Midnight Son and others.

One of the main draws of the Phineas Board, which becomes clearer in retrospect, was that there was a genuine feeling that you could get into trouble again. The LMB were very aware that things could end any minute, and that they probably would one day—and probably one day fairly soon. This feeling of possibly getting in trouble on the DCMBs helped create some of the old tension that kicked off the start of the LMB on the L* Board, and led to a desire (among some posters) to continue to push the envelope further.
