Now that we've talked so much about this "solar cycle" thing, it occurs to me that it's somewhat unlikely for an interstellar civilization to name a term for a planet's revolution around a star after the star instead of the planet. This way the humans on Titan, which apparently share the same language, would have a different meaning for "solar cycle".
But even accepting the terracentric perspective as valid, "solar cycle" would just as reasonably apply to one day as one year, if not more so.

All good points. In fact, given the inherent absurdities involved I suggest we assume that Paul mistranslated the interlac term for whatever unit of time they were referring to and just forget the whole thing.

If it's the first time he's used the term I suppose that makes the most sense. He's been writing Legion so long though I figured it probably wasn't.

Sun Boy and Polar Boy are acting way too much like Booster Gold and Blue Beetle.
Nice to see Invisible Kid taking on the role of a mentor to Glorith. He still seems like a rookie to me, but he does have the same personality type as Cham and Jan who both have been mentoring the new kids.
Seems pretty natural that Dragonwing and Shadow Lass would train together, doesn't it?
More Academy students? Yes please!

I'm definitely having a hard time fitting this take on Polar Boy with any previous characterization.
I wonder if Danielle Foccart might end up as an Academy student?

Re Cos, even if he's not Legion leader, I find it natural (based on past characterization) that he'd feel responsible. He WAS the first leader and a founder, after all. I do agree that his tearing up is a bit overdone, but the PTSD idea is interesting.

In regard to the clock's movement... what if the clock is correct? Could someone/thing be messing with time?

A 'solar cycle' meaning a day in this instance wouldn't make much sense, really. How could Rokk be so upset and needing to move on with his life, according to Jan, if only looking for the missing/LOST legionnaires for one day?
And since they're on Earth, it would make sense that they'd use a terracentric term. There would have to be standardized reference points within the United Planet buracracy or there'd just be chaos, imo, hense, Interlac.
I liked the clock idea but it WAS used pretty poorly.
I sort of hated the Legionnaires being shown in such exaggerated/pathetic ways - Rokk obsessed and crying, Brek falling down drunk, Glorith almost incapacitated with homesickness, CQ only thinking of partying, Dragonwing always jealous. Somehow, I want them to be better than regular people. Sad, I know, but I want them to be heroic, as well as heroes.

No it certainly didn't mean day in this instance, I just meant that it would make at least as much sense in general as an earth term.

Some nice character moments and very interesting that Nura casually mentioned Computo. Nice that there are almost a thousand potential recruits for the academy. The art was a bit heavily inked but some nice details. Overall it was okay but I can't say I'm over excited about the legion right now.

Absolutely as much sense in general terms.

I actually prefer the name Duplicate Damsel over Duplicate Girl...I get people don't like it because it' a mouthful, but it's not like it's any worse than Princess Projectra or Matter-Eater Lad...I like the alliteration and the endearingly proud usage of hokey codenames which is a Legion tradition
