Whew, that one was driving me nuts.

Speaking of being driven nuts, name four Legionnaires who had been insane at some point in their careers, and what drove them over the edge.

Brainiac 5, Lightning Lad, Colossal Boy and Cosmic Boy

1) Brainy was driven mad by the mechanations of Pulsar Stargrave, with a little help from a behind-the-scenes Computo.

2) Lightning Lad broke down from the pressure of being Legion Leader and by the revelation that Saturn Girl had been "unfaithful" with Timber Wolf.

3) Colossal Boy went nuts after an executioner crystallised Superboy and shattered him to bits.

4) Cosmic Boy went on a rampage to avenge the deaths of his parents from a fireballing incident.

and as a bonus:

5) Element Lad went temporarily insane trying to kill Roxxas

"Very angry" does not equal insane. I'm not even sure if Lightning Lad counts, he was depressed, but didn't seem to need professional help of any sort. If you had gotten all the other three, I might have given you that one, but not in this case.

So far, the only one of those that counts is Brainy (BTW, it was Glorith, not Computo, who was behind the scenes there).

Matter-Eater Lad-- went nuts after eating the Miracle Machine.

Saturn Girl-- had to be institutionalized after invading the Composite Man's mind.

Element Lad-- driven insane by millions of years of solitude in Legion Lost?

Jeepers! One of my favorite stories, too! And probably a better answer than Element Lad!

EDE two of the others I was thinking of. Sun Boy was another of those I had in mind, and one that I was thinking of that no one mentioned was Cosmic Boy during the "Legion on the Run" story, where those gauntlets unhinged his mind.

Element Lad I had forgotten, but I think he qualifies.

So, next question to EDE.

I think this one is easy.

We've seen two different versions of Garth Ranzz lose an arm (Adv. 332 and L* 30).

Which other Legionnaire have we seen survive the loss of an arm?

If applicants count, Arm-Fall-Off Boy leads the league!

And of course, Drake Burroughs survived the loss of his entire body. But I'm guessing you want the Legionnaire who lost an arm while active as a Legionnaire, right?

The only Legionnaire i could think of who lost an arm while on active duty would be Invisible Kid (Lyle Norg)...if he turned invisible, he couldnt see his hand, so he couldnt see if he had lost his arm....

Maybe a hint would improve my poor attempt at logic and humour.

I don't suppose Triplicate Girl's surviving the loss of two arms (as well as the rest of one body) counts?

Seriously, assuming that Triplicate Girl is not in fact that answer intended, I'll say Gear. I don't recall precise circumstances, but he seems like the type.
