Well, I could be Kent's stalker, too... I multitask.

Oh, and I didn't marry a sock puppet, but I did marry a bankruptcy attorney. Is that close enough for jazz ?

How d'you do, Quislet, Esq. ?

I was an admirer of the original Quislet, back in the day. I guess the trend is away from non-human-looking Legionnaires and that's kind of a shame.

A belated welcome, cleome.

Shady and Dreamy are favorites of mine, too.

And thanks for starting that thread about our hobbies and interests in the Anywhere Machine. I had a lot of fun posting there.

Long-time Legion fan, relatively short-time Legion World lurker, stepping out of the shadows to make my first post.

name: Matt
age: 37 (shudder)
location: Kentucky

My first issue of LSH was 296 and I remember seeing it on the rack at the drugstore and being pulled in by the art and the impressive cover. Didn't have the faintest clue what the book was about, but I bought it. After reading it, I still didn't have much of a clue, but I liked it. Bought #299 and enjoyed it. Bought #300 and was HOOKED! My poor copy of #300 is in complete tatters because I've read and re-read it so much over the years. At that point I started grabbing every issue I could including the reprints in Adventure Comics and Best of DC and bought every new issue after that that came out. Unfortunately, my home town didn't have a comic shop and once Tales of the LSH ended, so did my Legion collecting (along with Outsiders and Teen Titans). Once you couldn't get comics at the drug store or supermarket or convenience store anymore, my comic days were pretty much done (after typically buying no fewer that 30 different books a month). IMO, regulating comics to specialty stores only is the worst things to ever happen to the industry.

I've kept random tabs on the goings on in the comics industry (always been strict DC fan) over the years and picked up a random issue here and there, but I'm not sure I've bought a single new comic in at least 10 years. However, hearing that the old LSH was back has sparked my interest again and I've been picking up old OLD issues of Superboy & the Legion off of ebay (got about 50 issues coming soon in the mail). If the new old Legion gets their own regular series, I might just have to pick up a subscription and get into the comics game again. Oddly, it would be my very first comics subscription ever. lol

Welcome Matt,

Wait nine years before shuddering. [Wink]

I know a couple of people here do use subscription services. I don't know if DC still does subscriptions directly.

Hello! Newbie to both this board and to the Legion in general - I decided to take an interest in them because I enjoy second-string superheroes in general, so an entire team of them appeals to me greatly. I like my superheroes to be a little more underground...I figure if I'm going to know more about superheroes than everyone else I know, my favorite characters should be guys nobody else has heard of.

Real name: Scott

Occupation: College student

Other interests: Gender & Sexuality studies, literature, hypnosis (hence my Legion-ish screen name)

Started reading the Legion with the trades for Threeboot (it seems to me that it reads better as trades than it did for all of you who bought it monthly). I particularly loved Brainy, and I eventually gave the previous Legions a try (as well as following the Johns version).

My other comic obsessions of late: Blue Beetle, Transformers, Invincible, Atomic Robo, Hellboy, Astro City, and Busiek's Conan run. I'm also a big fan of the Millar/Hitch Ultimates, Busiek's Avengers, the JLI and assorted sequels, and may have to add Empowered to the list - just picked up the first volume and love it.

I alternately like my superheroes deep or goofy.

Welcome to Legion World, Hypno Lad!

You should like the Legion villain Universo. His power was originally described as super-hypnotism.

A Legion Trade to read would be the Great Darkness saga. It is considered The definitive Legion story.

Also the colorist for Atomic Robo is a regular here.

Name: Jennifer, but usually just Jen
Age: 23
Where you live: Texas, USA
What you do: College Student, Library Clerk

Legion info (favorite characters, creators, stories, eras; when you started reading; etc.): My love for comic books has been an on-off affair since junior high, and I got hooked on them again in 2006 (picked up DC: The New Frontier at work one day...and well...haha) and I think this is the most into them I've ever been.

Anyhow, the Legion has always fascinated me with it's huge cast and rich history. I'm not well versed in a lot of it, but with the recent Legion activity in the DC universe my interest in it has picked up greatly. [Smile]

My favorite Legions would have to be the one currently appearing in Geoff John's recent works (the original Legion? or some incarnation of it?) and the post Zero Hour Legion.

Well...I can't think of much else to say, I'm not very good at these things. [Razz]
