Edit: Thread title, to encourage posting comments

I noticed recently that I get a better response to my FanFic through PMs than I do on the posting threads.

I'm hoping that this trend means that people don't want to interrupt the 'flow' of the story, but it could very well mean that the comments are being withheld for other reasons, such as a majority of readers not liking the story and not wanting to post negative comments.

Well, I'm slightly masochistic and I believe that any writer who honestly wants to improve his or her mastery of the craft NEEDS to hear the negative side and use it as a counterbalance.

Please remember one thing however, my intention is not to start a battle between posters, nor am I asking for comments on anyone else's work - although they are invited to join in should THEY so choose.

So here's the place for that ...

Binliner (that's Harbinger to you!)is on record saying she prefers people to post on her threads as it acts like a 'commercial break' and pads out the pages to make it look like she's written more than she really has

Actually Sonnie is right, I quite like a few posts between yesterdays and todays and tomorrows posts in my fanfics.

I'll only do it to others if other people are doing it too though. I know that, for instance, I whizzed through Grey Birds Solace tale as a result of there being no other posts, but I still enjoy reading others views on my stories.

And here I was going to PM you guys to say that I'm sorry I've fallen behind in the fanfic reading here again and haven't gotten to any of the recent stuff. This week, this week. By which time you'll have written 10 more pieces.....

I like to read the comments - sometimes people mention things I hadn't noticed or suggest possible endings/interpretations I hadn't thought of, through which I get more out of what I'm reading.

I also like for peope to post on my story!!!!

I've just re-read this thread and I've got to ask you Chuckles, are you wanting us to post our comments on your stories here in this thread or in your stories actual thread?

I'm confused!

I haven't received many PM's on my stuff, so I have to assume that most of the people who have read it are either not saying anything or are posting on the thread itself.

I really don't mind if people post in the thread.

I find it harder to comment on a multi-part story until it has arrived at some conclusion. Perhaps it comes from seeing that an author is aiming at a resolution or high point, in both character actions and plot, and I find it premature to judge until I've seen all of the essentials.

That also makes it harder to communicate how I'm enjoying a story as it unfolds, unless I use the occasional IM. A less "permanent" note seems more appropriate for a work in progress. If it's clearly a serial story, though, with well-defined episodes, notes after each installment become more worthwhile.

Also, for those who don't know recent and local traditions: Many LMBPers would begin a story on the old DC boards, using the LMBP characters, and tag it "Onevision," which by common consent meant that no comments were posted to the thread until the author signaled that he or she was finished.

I really enjoy all the Tag Team threads that are developing here. The different ideas, styles and use of characters is brilliant

I want to post but amn't brave enough yet! I will but first I have to kill off ... I mean write exciting stories about my own characters. Once my current Legion 35C spin-off story line is over (probably tomorrow, certainly by the end of the week) I'll dive in.

Just thought I'd post my appreciation for them here rather than on the threads themselves.

As someone who used to write quite a bit on the old boards I always found comments (negative and positive) on the threads a welcome sign that people were reading and (hopefully) enjoying the stories. So in my case please feel free to comment as and when.

Greys comment about onevisions versus tag teams is a good one. Although for my part I always thought the main difference was that we had set onevisions up so that only that one author could set out and tell his story, without additions from his friends that may have taken the story in directions the author did not want to go. I don’t think they were intended to stop comments but my memory may be out on that. Perhaps some of the old hands can help out here?

The tag team stories were great fun precisely because they could go of on such weird and wonderful tangents.

The on-going tag team thread has made me laugh more than any other thread on this board....

Will try to think of some funny scenario to write into it but can't promise it'll be of a similar standard....

Almost New Kids latest Space Ranger-with-wind post made me snort lemsip through my nose - that's one way to unblock sinuses! Though not a way I'd recommend.....

Binger, if you take a moment and reread the 'onging' thread the bit you posted to it was quite possible the single funniest bit in the entire story. And it set up a lot of the things that came after it.

Maybe the other newbies are just a bit shy? I know that I always get a minor panic attack whenever I post something... Just give 'em a little time, they'll show up soon. Once we get comfortable on this board, the comments will come flooding in.

A serious note about the tag team threads. I'm getting a wee bit disturbed by the increasingly mysoginistic tone in them. While I can accept that 35 years ago the Legion was a tad sexist we shouldn't hold that up as a reason for the current glut of awful nonsense. This woman who's name we're not supposed to mention as it is, I assume, her real name stealing powers through sex etc etc is not a pleasant story arc. Not funny. Not clever. Get over it boys. Do you know what it says about your views on your own sexual maturity when you write such crap?

Personal swipes at people are really not attractive in a story thread! Use the regular threads or PMs to do your attacks! And if your target doesn't actually post on the board why are you dragging old and dead arguments out for public airing? Very immature!

If you want to push away genuine women from your threads (and this wonderful board) you're going the right way about it. And to settle any rumours I am most definitely a real woman, not an Alt ID like so many of the other 'female' posters appear to be. We're all here as fans of a magazine that tries to promote equality regardless of circumstances. Surely we should try a little to echo this? So, as a parting thought to the poor taste posters- Get a grip! And not just of yourself!

I AM Fair game, I'm here to play along and as you are well aware Numf I can give out as good as anyone else. I'm not shy (as you can definitely confirm!) and will allow a lot of things to be said or done around me without any complaint. But that is when it is done to me! And I'm aware of the situation.

My problem was the general tone against all women, and in particular a sudden glut of really nasty posts about someone who p-ed off one of our suppposedly senior LMBPers on another board!! - this pissed me off.

What I guess I'm trying to say is this - IF you want to be taken seriously have the guts to fight with those big enough to fight back.

I'm not sure what really happened, but I have read the Calling all LMBPers thread, so I know a little bit about it... I hope I haven't offended anyone, and if I did, I'm really sorry, it certainly wasn't intentional. I know that I'll be more careful in the future, so we can keep the harmony and good vibes on this board.

I thought I'd reincarnate this old thread to post my views on all the ongoing writing threads.

And that was a nice link into Ongoing - I love how the boys (Abin Quank, Cobalt and Numf-El) have sort of settled into a great routine of taking turns in posting an entire arc each - AQs' Mickey Spilane-esque Editor Eddie is great, Cobies traditional but with a twist action adventures and Numfies total lunacy are all individual, fascinating, captivating, outrageous and well worth a second and third reading each!

Danny Blaines sublime adventures about 'normal' people is one of the highlights of this whole board, it reads like a film - don't know if that makes sense but I do feel like I am there in the story with the 'real people' he writes so well.

Of course theres Abin Quanks Ron Karr story that gives us more depth of character per post than a year of DnA is well worth a raving about too. I'm addicted to this story.

And there's my ongoing stories set in the 35th century. Well I kind of enjoy them too.

There have been a load of great fanfics prior to these as well and everyone that I've read has added to the great weft and weave that makes this forum so unique and wonderful and a joy to log onto every night.

Sorry artists but I'm a literary girl - give me words over pictures any day! I do love your work and wish I could draw more than rudimentary stick figures that look like they're recovering from an industrial accident!

Okay, to be honest with you I'm jealous of the artists talent and love sneaking peaks at their fantastic work, just like every other poster here.

To everyone who has invested time and effort to add to this wonderful, inspired and lovingly mad board - thank you!

And thanks for the kind words on the tag thread! I'm enjoying it quite a bit myself these days too! I've been enjoying Chuck's stories all along, and I've never quite read anything as funny as Numf's! I only wish more people would post on it again, *cough* *cough*, Harbinger, Fat Cramer, EDE, Icefyre, Vee, etc., etc...

I plan to getting around to reading all the other fanfics as well! This I promise! I know I have a ton to read about Glorion Grundy and Danny B's Midnight Investigation, as well as a ton of other cool stuff!

In case this isn't clear to everyone who is not Chuck, Numf or I: post on the ongoing tag thread! Don't worry about continuity, don't worry about whatever. Have fun with it! If you screw up continuity, we'll fix it, or just not ever care anyway! And do what you want to any of the characters who you think won't mind (just remember, it's open game on you after you do something to me )!

I know that I am often humbled to see that the scribblings I post are on the same board with the incredibly fine artwork posted here.

Unfortunately, we don't have a way that I know of to easily combine the two on this board.

I'm letting this one take it's time to be told, so that the main characters (Elagabolus and Septimus) gradually grow into characters, and the endings are worthwile.

If I could make a wee suggestion that could only improve them - if you used smaller paragraphs or put in space lines betwen them it would be a bit easier on the reader, sometimes the bank of words is a bit intimidating....

It's funny and it's a great story - although now that they're on Tartarus, I'm thinking it could be Matter Eater Lad: The Movie!

I'm finding it's easier to read the stories in large chunks - so I'll try the Spider Guild next.

Just read two pages of the LMBP tag-team, that's bopping along nicely - but the number of characters gets confusing - I read the story but wouldn't know where to take it next. By the end of the page, I forget who's where, who's attacking who - and now you've split Cobie into three parts!!! My head hurts! (just kidding) Numf-el in Panama - great cliff-hanger he's left us. Squeak of anticipation indeed!

I'm loving Numf's posts in the tag thread! Kaant is my new favorite character!

But I have to agree that it's getting really confusing now . With Cobalt all over the place, Stu's idea of three Cobie's just seemed so funny . I'm thinking of starting a new tag thread to try and get others to join in on the fun.

I'm loving Lash's Spider Guild story right now! Great stuff, I crave more O Great Lash! And the Matter-Eater series is great so far too, I hope the two writers don't mind when I send in letters

I'm also reading Harbi's Glorion Grundy and the Mindbender story, but making sure I don't rush it. I love the world Belinda has created! Between reading all these stories and writing two of my own, not to mention daily life , one can only read so much!

As for SPIDER GUILD, it's actually become bigger than I originally intended so I've slowed down with it somewhat... actually, the nice responses it got prompted it to start becoming bigger than I planned... I want to stick somewhat close to the original end I had for it... and pray it doesn't disappoint! So more is coming soon.

I've really enjoyed the creative outlet the BITS forum has become for me.

I promise more of my "Security Onevision" when I get the chance! I still have to get to the major meeting of Legion Worlders to decide the next course of action. And the subsequent decision that alters the course of the story...

Everyone else: keep writing as much as possible! And that goes for the artists as well, keep the pics coming !

Oh, and I wanted to publicly note that I will get back on track reading everyone's stories once SPIDER GUILD is finished...

Numf, I'm loving your arc in the Ongoing Tag Thread right now! Kaant is one of the funniest characters I've ever read!

I haven't been posting in the Ongoing thread myself for a little bit (I notice Chuck and IB haven't either). I think a lot has to do with there only really being four of us posting there now for over ten pages, and we're all kind of off doing our own thing. Plus, the massive page count makes it so that people don't really want to join in it seems, since everyone isn't up for reading the previous thirty pages to catch up.

In other words, it seems that the Ongoing Tag Thread has slowed down considerably, and I've been considering de-highlighting it for a time. However, I'm not saying that we'll stop posting in it, after all, it is an ONGOING, and besides, the best written and funniest stuff I've read has been in it. But it has slowly but surely become a thread written by Numf, Chuck, IB and I, and I don't even know if anyone else checks it out.

So someone give me some feed back on this! I'm curious! Should I de-highlight it? Does anyone else read it? Is anyone else ever going to start posting in it?

Side note to Numf, Chuck and IB- Guys, I love reading your stories, so please keep them coming. You keep posting, I'll keep reading them, and when I get inspired, I'll make sure to throw my own posts in too! With my Security story taking up a bit of my creative free time, I just don't have it in me to create and run my own adventures in the Ongoing right now. But I want to keep reading yours! I do have it in me of course, to throw quick posts into tag threads and mess them up .

Oh and please read my Security Story if you get the chance !

My apologies to all. Been quite a while since I've had time to visit Bits and read the various stories. Besides being busy at work, much of my "free" time has been spent traveling down to Miami to help Tommy out during his recovery. What little time that left for the boards has been limited to MMB for the most part, although I do miss "Bits" and all the zany goings on.

The plan is that it will be centered around my own character, Eryk Davis Ester, and will have as its theme his transition from the tentative LMBP-ally who'd just gotten over being a power mad cosmic villain at the end of the Super-Jailhouse story, to an integral part of the LMBP, trusted enough that he would be elected first Deputy Leader of Legion World. I'm hoping that this will in many ways represent my own process of coming to feel like a part of the group, as opposed to someone who just happened to post on the old DCMBs (and was actually believed by at least a few to be simply an alt-ID of another prominent poster).

Anyway, stay tuned!

EDE, you know I can't wait for the Onevision! I'm dying to learn how Eryk makes it into the LMB from villain to Deputy! And how Legion World is founded, and then let known to the LMBP, and then the subsequent move there!

On Headlining threads in the Bits forum:

This is a general question for everyone who contributes to the Bits forum through writing or art. Recently, I've considered 'de'-headlining the two tag threads, although I'm not sure what everyone else thinks (I did de-headline them, and someone 're'headlined them, although they probably didn't know I did it on purpose).

The main reason is that I remember when the MMB's had four headlined threads and some people didn't like it that other threads were too easily pushed off page one. I know that there are times when the Bits forum doesn't get much traffic, and then there are times when this place has been exploding with creativity, like recently. Is four headlined threads too much, is it cramping the top of the page?

Your feedback is appreciated ! If no one cares either way, I'll just leave it as is.

As a general rule, I don't care for headlined threads but there are exceptions. In any case, I don't really mind the headlined threads here. Whatever works, Cobie, to keep this forum's activity up!

I'd say throw them all to the wolves and may the strongest rise to the top - not that it's a problem either way.

Also have to say that Cobie writes FANTASTIC stories - I am totally enjoying his Price of Security...

Well, the Price of Security is finished, although the story is not! This wraps up Part I of the story, and the whole "Price of Security" aspect of it, although that theme will remain ever-present for the duration of the story!

Thanks to everyone who has read it so far, and everyone who plans to! It is by far the piece of writing that I am most proud of, and I can't wait to get to part II, the conclusion.

It will be titled "Journies and Destinies", and I should get to it relatively soon (at the same pace I've been writing this one). The last few 'chapters' of 'Security' were setting up this journey anyway, so the continuation will be quick and easy. I just felt this was a good transition of the story!

*side note*- I'm going to de-headline the two tag threads as well. Neither is getting much action right now, and I think it's a good idea. There is so much traffic here right now, that'd I'd feel bad if someone's thread is pushed to page two b/c there's four headlined threads.

Plus, maybe this will give people some incentive to post in the threads--since if they don't, they'll be on page two! That'll teach you !

Wow! All this rampant creativity is exhilirating!

Des, I just read what you've written so far in your sequel to "Price". Excellent---love the elements inspired by "Lord of the Rings" and Alan Moore's "Swamp Thing" with just a smidge of "Harry Potter" thrown in for flavoring!

This is not to say that it's all just a big copycat/hodgepodge thing...obviously, we are all inspired by things we've enjoyed. No, I think it's fun to see you using, reinterpreting or just riffing on those elements in your story. I do it all the time ("Lard Knight" and "Lard Force" anyone?)! It's a lot of fun to see our heroes in more of a fantasy scenario.

I look forward to see how it turns out, Des!

P.S. One thing I forgot to praise you about "Price", specifically, was the Forsaken Bard! Shiver me timbers! Very creepy, but very, VERY cool! Too bad his/its story's over....(hint, hint)

The Forsaken Bard was a concept I came up with entirely on my own, and I really got into it! It has been my favorite monster/villian to write so far (although the two new ones in my newest have some good plans).

I'm glad you liked the Swamp Thing/LoTR little bits, both done very much on purpose, with a touch of my own flavor and the LMB. And Stu as an owl is a combination of Harry Potter/Books of Magic--I just can't help but see a young wizard with his own owl . I figured I'd get all these little tributes done right away before getting into my own stuff, and it'd be a nice way to start the story!

BTW, I am loving your story too so far! Glad to see Darden and myself as the beginning narrators, and that Lardy's story is starting so early on! Mordra sounds very interesting, but the story of LeeLee caught me totally by surprise and sucked me right in! I can't wait to see how this develops!

Yeah, my new story jumps from the present to the past (though technically it never leaves the present), and from omniscient narrator to first person narrator in the form of Cobalt Kid.

I thought it was necessary to show exactly what happened in the past that was so bad. Rather then tell it exactly as it happened (with dialogue and omniscient narration), I chose to have Cobalt tell it to Faraway as they converse in Cafe Cramer. I thought about including Faraway's voice interjecting with questions and comments as he heard Leelee's story; but the concept was that Cobalt had Faraway's's rapt attention, and Faraway had no desire to interrupt, so deep was his interest.

The next chapter will continue Cobalt's telling of the backstory in the same style. The chapter after that will switch back to omniscient narration (with dialogue, etc.) and it will likely stay that way the rest of the story, unless I change my mind.

I hope that the choice was not confusing to anyone. It just worked best in my mind.

Oh, and I wonder if you've got the rest of the "past" part of the story figured out. There have certainly been enough clues. In any case the next chapter will clarify the story of the LMBP traitor.....

And I'm eagerly awaiting it! I think I have the basic premise figured out, although I won't be surprised if I'm a bit off!

And I know I love the choice of using Cobalt and Far!

I'm just so happy to see so much activity here in the Bits forum, especially the 'LMB Universe' activity! All art and stories are welcome!

I'm also glad that the tag thread has gotten a quick resurgence, thanks to mainly EDE, since it seemed that it was quickly fading away. Hear's to hoping it keeps going!

Also, Des, I was originally gonna use Cobalt and Loser for that sequence, but it felt weird to use Loser in a "present" sequence with his continued absence. So I chose Faraway as another close friend. Turns out, it worked really well because it made sense for Cobalt to tell the story to someone who wasn't there at the time. Loser does appear in the flashback sequences in a prominent role, however!

Originally, the flashback was supposed to only take up two chapters, but I've decided to expand it to three since there's so much to tell. could've done it in two, but the second would've been inordinately longer than all the other chapters. Plus, it would've taken that much longer to write and post!

Anyhow, hope you like! And I'm waiting for more from you, Des!

By the way, Loosh...just had a chance to read what you've got so far. I'm liking it a lot! You've got the most breezy, conversational style...can't wait for more!

Thanking you kindly Lardy. I have to admit I'm making it up as I go along though. I have the basic ideas worked out but things keep happening as I'm typing the next chapter. The whole Lucien Lad/Time Mouse Trapper thing wasn't originally a part of the story at all but once Cobie (I think) mentioned that it had been established that the TMT was an AU version of Lash, who was laso the first person from the LMBP that I met, it made sense that there should eb the old 'animosity through time' thing going on. Their origins are going to be tied together even more as we go down the line. Also Cru wasn't going to be in it before but I just liked the idea of another LMBPer being involved as well. Now whether Crujetya is our Cru or an ancestress or what i think I shall leave up to others to decide (and it's the kind of thing that is probably good to leave hanging in case someone else wants to take it up down the line somewhere and run with it). That being said if the story goes the way that I plan it going then most of the LMBP (as a group) will turn up as well *before* Lucien joins them. Ooh, having a character who is all time displaced makes for so much fun when it comes to bringing in established characters.

And I have to say that I'm liking yor new story Lardy. It's nice to go back and visit the very early days of the LMBP and see where Lardy has come from.

Thanks for the kind words, Loosh! As this story idea fleshed out in my mind, I thought it would be crucial for setting up where the character is going while also telling more about where he's been.

The flashback part gives you an idea of why the character is the way he is now. Why's he so into instant gratification? Why no love relationships? Why's he such a party animal? Well, we're seeing now how he was once very diferent and how being more open and loving really cost him.

And as the story progresses, we'll understand more why he'll someday be "Dark Lard". Suffice it to say, I'm really into this story! And being able to fill in some backstory in the LMB's history is a big part of the fun, too. (Incidentally, I see the "traitor" backstory as taking sometime before the road trip and your joining, so no Lucien Lad...hope that doesn't hurt your feelings! )

I probably should have footnoted the poem but I figured everyone would recognize it. I keep forgetting that I'm from the Earth K universe and not everyone grew up with my music. "Legionnaire Heroes" is actually a song, and it's supposed to be sung to the tune of "Celluloid Heroes" by Ray Davies and the Kinks. I just changed some of the words is all.

One of the other songs I posted (in the subdebutante topic, I think), "Queen Team" is based on Petula Clark's "Downtown".

Thanks, Cobalt...though honesty, if I'm gonna write a story with a part featuring the early days of the LMB, it makes since to use early LMBers! With Tsarin, in particular, I remembered how we portrayed him as the LMB scientist around that time. And using him enabled me to go on a "CSI: LMBP" riff in that last chapter! What fun!

I figure most people read this thread (or at least hope ), so just to let everyone know who doesn't check out the "Gallery Exhibits?" thread:

On April 1st, a good deal of us are planning an all Mano-exhibit, where all the artists draw a pick of Mano and any writers who want to contribute can write a story (most likely a short story, but longer ones are welcome!). We're planning to do this every month on the 1st of the month, and we'll be voting for who to do next month in the thread!

Join on in, it's gonna be fun! Thank Monkey-Eater Lad for the idea, and Drake, Gary and others for going with it! I know I'm looking to join in on the fun!

I haven't posted as much as I'd like to have of late due to working commitments and need to take this opportunity to say what a totally RAWKIN' forum this is!

Well, after some encouragement from Belinda, I've been able to get my inspiration back and continue writing my story!

I've added five more 'chapters', and am glad to see the story moving along. I have a definate middle and end in mind, and I promise to get to them when I can!

I hope everyone else continues their stories, we've still got great stuff coming from Chuck, Lardy, Bevis, EDE, Dev, Lash, and of course Danny B and Belinda! And now Numf is finally giving us some more stories! Keep 'em coming! We need more!

Now to see if we can get the tag threads back on track! I see Sonnie has started up the Ongoing one again, I'll try to get to it soon, but now I'm tired

Thanks Numf! I'm not sure what it feels like on one read from start to finish, but I was worried that it might seem a bit jumbled. When I started writing it, I was in my "Price of Security" mode of setting the mood and pace, but when I got back to adding large portions, I had changed to a more action-packed feel to the story (probably out of disgust at how Marvel Comics has most of their comics right now). I'm glad you enjoy it !

And like I said in the thread, I'm loving you Dragons Onevision! The best part about the way you write is that it doesn't matter if I read the whole thread or just one post--I know I'm going to be laughing out loud.

Do I have some catching up to do on all these stories and artwork! Once I get going, I really get into all the different works - going to need a marathon of Bits-only days to read all this great work. It's a real pleasure, though!

Cobie - just read your Journies & Destinies. Loved the concept of "the Green" and the ancient library, Sulla as wizard, the decaying ship lacquered in blood, the funny parts (the Spartans & the Virgins) and the way you've developed the characters. I find myself thinking it really happened....

Unfortunately, there's too many guys like Dev in the gay community. But he'll be getting his comeuppance in a future issue of MEL:TS no doubt!

Anyway, before this turns into a Harbinger appreciation thread (not that that would necessarily be a bad thing of course ) - everyone else - why you reading this when there's a bloody great forum of unsigned talent waiting for your attention? Go enjoy it before we all get signed up and you have to pay for the priviledge

Okay, so the long-awaited (?) next chapter of "Turning Point" is finally up. But as I completed that chapter, I realized I would need to rethink the story's structure. The flashback part of the story was going so much longer than I'd anticipated that I decided "Turning Point" would have to be divided into 2 parts: Then and Now.

Part 1 tells the whole backstory, while part 2 will follow up with what happens when Lardy confronts our villain in the present. The story would drag on too long and be too disjointed as one mega-story. Separating them seems like a much better idea. And both sides of the story are equally important, so both will now get equal billing.

So that's why I changed the title and the first two chapter headings. Maybe a minor thing to you all, but I felt I had to clarify.

Also, I realized I have this little bit of irony. I actually have another Onevision I've written saved on my laptop, but can't post it because I don't have an internet connection to the laptop right now. Hopefully I'll get that fixed and post it. It's a quick Onevision entitled "Villians and Victims" and actually stars two minor characters from my other Onevisions, Anne (the girl from Cafe Cramer in "Price of Security") and Tarquin, one of the villians from "Journeys and Destinies".

Sounds like fun, Des! I've gotta sit down and catch up with "Journies" when I get the chance. I remember it was still in progress when I disappeared.

Meanwhile, I'm posting a little abstract (not really a story, but kind of an introductory "Who's Who" piece) on a new character I've created---hopefully tonight. Is Legion World ready for...Lard Lass?

Actually, Cobalt, in my origin piece I wrote loooong ago (see entry in the Outpost for reference) Dom Deluise XXVII was first mentioned as Lardy's master! So I didn't JUST make it up...it's been officially in-continuity forever!

That said, this is only the second time I've ever mentioned him. And it's the first time I've ever explored anything of the workings of the Order of the Lard Knights. It's actually pretty fun! It'll also be fun to show the differences between Nakia and Lardy.

Part of my intent in introducing her is to establish that Lardy has left the LMB for an extended period of time (probably for most of our current story year---year five?). And a good way to illustrate this is to have someone take over his role and, hopefully, have her appear in tag teams and ONEVISIONS set in the "present". If continuity has Lardy referred to as missing and Nakia is participating in the adventures, it'll really help tighten that up.

The only one I've had time to read so far is Harbi's new "Subs" story, and it totally rocks! Love the choice of Nightwind as the main character (grife knows she deserves her time in the spotlight!) and love the new and different Brande!

Eryk was curious as to how a modern LSH comic would translate to a Silver-Age style of writing. I was sold instantly on the idea.

And there you have it, a 30-page modern comic retold in Silver-Age style in 8 'pages'!

Well, what are Harbingers tips for this montrh? Don't deny it, I heard you ask.

Smallville fans, especially those with a sense of humour and a love for character driven stories should read Lantern Lad's excelent Superboy and the Legion of Super Heroes.

Jorg Em's fantastic Jim Lee Micros are simply stunning! I especially liked Star boy, Karate Kid, Tinya with bell sleeves and plead humbly for an Imra with the full face mask.

Also Vees impressive 21st Century Legion roll call is a work of love that needs aknowledging! I've never read (oh jeez this is emarassing to admit) any of the 21st C Legion stories until tonight - why not? I don't know but there's SO much great stuff there, loads of clever twists and turns, character development and obvious love of the characters and that's just in the origins threads that Vee has linked to. Also Reboots Micros are terrific!

I've a load of ideas written out for Ambers Song and another spin off from Leg35C but to be frank (not in the Bruno sense) I can't be bothered spending the time writing them out coherently right now and lets be honest no-one can follow it apart from me (most of the time I do anyway) so it's not really that much of a loss to humanity of I sit on it (so to speak) for a while. Who knows though Ken, I may suprise you and have a post-a-thon one of these weekends when Alans working and write out and post the lot.

So far behind with all the amazing Bits threads! The Power Team-Up gallery was fascinating, so many great combinations, crying out for stories...* sigh * It was a lot of fun! Loved Dean's rock stars, too.

I'm with FC--I'm so far beyond its criminal. I'm surprised Harbi hasn't stolen my shoes yet and beat me with them

Still, knowing there is so much here to catch up on is nice.

Some thoughts:

- Lardy's "Turning Point" is excellent! Some very strong characterization and VERY intense plot. What Lardy is going through, especially the emotional ramifications is heart-breaking and horrifying. I think this might be Lardy's best work to date!

- Numf's "Sonnie & Numf..." is exactly as I thought it would be: complete over the top fun that is so enjoyable to read that my face hurts from smiling and laughing. Numf, you keep topping yourself with each post! I'm still a long ways off from your most recent updates, so I can't wait to get a few minutes to read some more!

- I miss Stealth's Imperial Guard and hope to see more of it soon!

- Abin should be punished severely...for not updating his onevision with more posts! The LMB needs to know who the villain is and what's in store for the Security Office and rest of LW!

- EVERYONE should be checking out Reboot's latest posts in 21st Century Legion. The story has been building for some time, and now the excitement is as intense as ever. I also think Reboot's best writing is coming out right now and shouldn't be missed.

- Its time I set some time away and dive head first into all of Harbi's stories. Can Amber's Song be read without reading previous ones? There should always be a Harbi written story on page one in Bits!

As always, I usually post my comments on art in those specific threads...

I think that late June/July should have an all-Legion World bits week, where various stories of the last 3 years are read by new people and reread.

I've just read the latest one vision by Crujectra.

Really enjoyed it. Cru you must have some very stange dreams - the Time Mouse Trapper?!.

I can't take credit for the Time Mouse Trapper. That's an old LMBP villain from way back in our early days. Same with the Entropy Spinach. I think I might have given each my own little twist, though All of the other villains were mine (I think).

Just want to let everyone know that I'm really enjoying this latest tag team thread so far! Lots of cool little bits and various things going on.

Keep at it! I'm loving how everyone has started to make certain storylines 'their own', but still very open to sharing the storylines and connecting them all.

The Gen-Cars are the real show-stealers so far! But I had to add in one of my favorite LMBers to write, Dedman, for at least a few parts

I must say, having this set "52 days later" made it very easy to set up all the Lard Lad developments I had planned!

I've gotta say, I'm having a lot of fun reading everyone's posts in the new tag team thread! Lots of cool stuff going on!

Incidentally, I have no idea who the other two members of the Matchmakers are, so anyone can feel free to contribute their ideas!

Alright, in my latest post I've set up a big bad for the story, possibly THE Big Bad. Maybe, it's too early, but I felt I had to do something like this to set up a mystery about Hummer Lass's ally. And, yes, I have a good idea who this guy should be!

However, there's still plenty of room to call audibles. Proceed with your story ideas as planned and see whether one bad guy behind the scenes makes sense!

Sounds good! We'll see how it goes and how the stories develop. No need to make any plans for the finale of the story yet, since we're on page 2 (of 52 ), but I'm curious to see where things go!

I've gotten some pretty cool ideas perculating myself that I'm toying around with, and from the way everyone's posting, it seems like so does everyone else! Everyone keep your ideas flowing free!

BTW, I like how we're focusing on Gen-Cars and Alts with some real LMBers thrown in there throughout. I do plan to eventually do a post or two about Cobalt Kid, Shark Lad, Disaster Boy and Hrun in Dark Oval space if no one minds leaving that for me (unless of course, one of those posters would like to do something with themselves ).

Tamper, I hope my post with your character and Wyandotte was consistent with how Tamper lad would handle this situation. From what I'd read in the past and on the thread itself, how I wrote him seemed to jibe with his character. I hope it wasn't far off!

No problem Lardy, the only thing thats consistent about TL is that he's too full of himself in whatever his thought of the day is.

Sometimes its taking over the universe other times its making money. But mostly its fawning over pretty girls and making an donkey of himself.

I kinda thought so, but I'm a little apprehensive everytime I write a character when he's doing more than just saying a line or something.

Isn't it a little weird that your character knows something about a mysterious bad guy, but you don't?

BTW, Tamper, your references to Cobalt Kid throughout this tag thread have been spot-on, and have been hysterical

BTW, I thought the lightbulb on his head was moved down to his speedo. Am I remembering something wrong, EDE?

Hmm... I do kind of recall a point at which his speedo would light up every time he had an idea, but I think the most recent presentations of him have his costume consisting of a speedo and giant lightbulb on his head.

I believe the hypertime bar is still also woven into his speedo, which makes him immune to all retconning effects, as well. I'd have to check (read: ask Cobie) to make sure that's still the case following Infinite Crisis.

I'll take this as confirmation that there's more CL to come then?

FYI, for anyone interested:

LW Triumvirate - the military portion of Legion World, run by Cobalt Kid and Eryk Davis Ester, with armies loyal to *them*, not Legion World. This is a major part of my story that I'm handling. Its unrelated to any other 'force' among the LMB, such as...

The Security Office - an office begun by Cobalt Kid and Space Ranger (now deceased) on Legion World, dealing with the Security of Legion World. The protocol of the office has recently been changed slightly to jive more with the LMB leaders. Cobalt Kid has run the office from inception, but the two now co-Chiefs of Security are Matlock and Abin Quank. Check page 9 of the Office of the Security Thread in the MMB for a whole list of officers (my own post entitled 'Addendums & Changes' or something).

Dark Oval War- in case anyone is wondering, Hrun and myself have some plans for this storyline in the current tag thread, so please PM me if you were hoping to connect (or just post here). Because, well, things might end up suddenly being different in a few days

The thing is that it just suddenly occurred to me the other day when looking at the Who's Who in the LB thread how obviously easy it was to bring him back if we need him. I'm actually surprised I haven't re-used him before now!

Just think of all the unused potential lurking in the Who's Who... and we've only just begun to flesh it out!

I've got more installments to write and post (I've got the next couple planned out)...but I've been horribly busy the last few days. So I'll get to it!

The "52" story is great so far everyone. I'm almost up to speed on the whole thing (just have 2 pages left to read), and I look forward to adding a new twist to the tale soon involving Antacis Lass and some other of the Alt IDs

1. What was Bismoll's status during the INVASION? (i seem to recall it being mentioned as part of the Dark Oval, just want to be sure)

2. What are some Alts that haven't been added to the tale yet? And could someone PM me with the necessary details on said Alt's...wannna have my facts strait.

I can answer (1) right off the bat: Bismol (in the LMB-verse) is a part of the United Planets that happens to be very close to the Dark Oval borders, as well as the Barbarian Hordes borders. Funny enough, I'm using it in my story, as my latest posts show! (Although, I'm doing it in a way that basically leaves open anyone wanting to use the planet in pretty much anyway they choose--its not a necessary element to my story and the characters will move on shortly).

As for (2), it’s a bit harder to answer. I can tell you who has been used yet (or will be), which might make it easier:

Deddy, PM me if there’s anyone you have questions about using and I’ll fill you in on recent developments in that characters history or if they are being used or something You pretty much have free reign to use just about any LMBer, Alt or Gen-Car you’d like, given that you don’t put a LMBer in a compromising position he/she wouldn’t like , or kill off an alt or gen-car someone ‘owns’ (a very blurry line).

Jeepers! Are Cobalt Kid and Eryk Davis Ester still trapped in the past from when they showed up one month earlier, or have they taken yet another trip to the past? And when *will* they actually travel to the past in the present day?

Something else else tells me this Ancient Greece tag team is going to get convoluted really quickly!

That's my plan! The way I figure it--Cobie and EDE are far too busy these days to be trapped in the past!

Either its a future Cobie and Eryk, or perhaps a past Cobie and Eryk in a never before seen story from their past?

In regards to Omnia:

I've written out the next few parts of my chapters. Following that, I'll probably be sending PMs to EDE, Tamper & Quis on possible thoughts about tying our stories together a bit more (or at least heading in the same direction).

Glad you liked what I did with your character, Deddy! I was nervous about what I'd written because I feared I took too many liberties with him and his powers. I'm happy you approve!

Hey everyone, i just wanna give some explanation about why i dropped out of the Tag thread.

Back about 6 weeks ago I had a big post ready to go and I was just about to finish it when my laptop experienced the pop of death.

Having been a compy nerd all my life I know this sound to be. The catastrophic failure of a capaciter on the motherboard. Since the computer was out of warranty (Do computers ever fail in warranty?) this meant it was kaput. So having lost that post and my pointform notes about what i was going to do I dropped out. I still need to pull stuff off that 2.5 inch HDD for work too

By the time I felt like posting again i was too swamped to pick up what had happened so unfortunately i probably won't be back. If any one wants to use my threads go ahead.

Tamper, sorry to hear abuot the computer crash. I've picked up a couple of your threads at your suggestion above, so I hope you approve. I plan to at least have Nova Girl be at the forefront of the final battle as we roll along.

Cru & others, I hope you don't mind holding off on the Sol Invictus battle for a bit, as I get to explaining that one. I eventually have an idea for how that will go, and I'll PM you on a way to have our stories meet up.

Thanks for getting Seth back in the story (though I'm a bit surprised he rated space on the Omnia cover?) Hadn't really been able to get online during the daytime, so it's hard to coordinate storylines with anyone. I'll see what I can do for moving him along.

It just goes to show that we haven't forgotten about your character as Omnia moves toward its finale! Careful reading of the last several posts make it clear the plot is unravelling, and we're heading toward a two-pronged climax. We hope that Seth will be by Helena's (and a handful of others') side as they confront the domestic threat of the Church of the Eternal Void on Legion World while the heavy-hitters of the LMB-proper will be preoccupied with a cosmic threat.

As for Joe-Boy's cover---what can I say? He must be quite taken with your character! And who's to say that one of the heroes of Invasion won't still have a chance to earn his cover billing?

Seth, shoot me a PM if you think you'll be able to get back to posting in Omnia, it's great to see you back!

I have Seth & Helena with my main character, Jailbait Lass, right now and have a basic idea for where I want to take them. We've (those of us still posting) created a basic outline for how the thread will end now as we race to the conclusion. By all means, jump right in, or trust that Seth will be written right!

PS - JoeBoy's cover is BRILLANT! Joey, I also plan on having Kid Marvel have some brillant moments in the finale, so you can also trust me there

The story proper is over. I think the plan to get to 52 pages fell by the wayside. There are a series of epilogues that Lardy, Cobie and I have planned to tie up a few loose ends and so on. There is one that I've written that involves a rather important transition for both Rockhopper Lad and Kid Marvel. It'll be the second one.

Yeah, Omnia is all finished! I'm thrilled with it too--easily one of my favorite tag team, LMB story, event, etc. that I've ever been a part of, if not my absolute favorite!

A few more epilogues are planned and should be posted shortly.

Then there are a couple of ideas that we've been kicking around for follow-ups that I'll post, which you'll probably really get a kick out of Joey, and I hope you contribute art and stories! (Think 80 Page Giant )...

I don't have any epilogue for anything I contributed, but the events of 52 are spinning into a OneVision that I am currently working on, which will bring in more backstory for the twins and flesh out their supporting cast a bit.

Tamper, I tried my best to tie in all of your, EDE's and everyone's else's subplots (I think we hit on just about every single one in some form or another), so I think you'll be pleasantly surprised and pleased. We made sure to have Nova Girl have an important role in the end (and Tamper Lad and the EGSClub a little earlier).

I highly reccomend Omnia to all! Following a handful of epilogues, which will follow shortly (Lardy is doing the first, then Rocky, then there's room for some more), we'll move on to the next LMB project which should be lots of fun and very easy for people to contribute without being lost in a big story. Basically we're thinking one large thread along the lines of an '80 Page Giant', where each contributer would do a short story (re: a 'one-post story') featurnig a character they love, whether themselves, a gen-car, alt ID, villain, etc. Artists would be encouraged to add some art!

For example, I of course have a Jailbait Lass story planned as a follow-up to Omnia, but I also have some odd stuff I want to throw in that will set-up future stuff. But basically the thread will be one long ongoing one to encourage a larger variety of authors to contribute over time.

You know, before the next major role-play or tag team starts up unexpectedly...

Sorry I haven't written the first epilogue yet. A combination of (very mild) Omnia burnout after that end sequence and a tough week at work has delayed it a bit. I'm sure I'll post it some time between now and Monday at the latest.

Meanwhile, I would encourage anyone who's been a contributor to Omnia at some point to maybe write at least a brief character piece after the second epilogue appears showing how Omnia's events affected their characters. Heck, I'd even encourage someone who never got around to contributing to add a little something! We have a basic structure in mind for the epilogues, but there's plenty of wiggle room.

And I definitely encourage everyone to contribute to the upcoming Giant. As Cobalt said, it will be designed as a showcase for everyone to write short pieces about the LMB Universe and won't involve keeping an ongoing story straight. And it'll be FUN!

Congratulations on that one, Cru! I especially liked learning more about Psyonia and Bob the Cat, one of your great breakout characters! The whole thing brings in a nice fantasy element to counterpoint all the sci-fi and superhero stuff we've got going on. The social division and isolation among Psyonians also makes for a nice comment on our own society. Well done, Michael!

Thanks. In all fairness, I gained alot of inspiration for Psyonian society from various fantasy series that I've read over the years. I threw a few ideas together and added my own elements to the mix

I'm liking Bob more and more myself. I hadn't really intended to do much of anything with him originally, but the more I wrote him the more I liked him, and he's kinda taken on his own voice.

I'm really liking Cobie's "Psionic Spear" story. I just have one question.

When Eryk drinks from Rockhopper Lad's Energy Drink (which all LMBers carry with them), is that he drank from Rocky's because he didn't have one with him, or did he drink from a special energy drink that Rocky has concocted and all the LMBers now carry?

Maybe it's a special Pyngwyny blend?

Well, I figured that at that point Stealth and Eryk had no special energy drink left after being in space for awhile (and on a long quest away from supplies), but perhaps Rocky's drink has some additional special qualities that he put in there himself. That seems like it could be a cool little tidbit!

Just finished MageWar, Cru!

I’ve got to say, this is one of my favorites you’ve written to date! Definitely a candidate for *the* favorite. As usual, its your use of casual dialogue between all the LMBers and company that plays up so well the easy-going friendship between them all no matter how serious the situation. Of course, you *get* Cobalt and Crujeckie better than anyone and how much underlying respect and trust there is that goes unsaid between them—I really enjoy reading your scenes with them! I also love how you use Beagz, Nighty and others, and I really like seeing Crusader in action. Its cool to think that Maxx has been a part of LMB lore for about six years (LMB time) by this point, so of course he’d be extremely good friends with the LMBers Crusader is closest to. I can just feel you smiling when I read Bob the Cat’s dialogue.

I loved how you delved into Psyonia and the various aspects of it. It really had a fantasy feel to it, and you were able to balance that well with it existing in the 31st Century as an important part of the UP. The various types of powers the Psyonians have the ability to tap into is fascinating, and I like how you’ve explained how its caused some tension and loneliness in Psyonian culture.

Which leads right into the heart of your story, with the mages and the true nature of the familiars, which I found to be an awesome twist. Especially how Bob the Cat decided to continue to serve the Royal Family, and what the familiars tap into on Psyonia. Bearath makes for a great villain, and I’m sure now he’ll be a recurring one. He reminds me of a Psyonian Voldemort…I’m really interesting in more of his story.

Also, I loved the character of Lizbet, and how connected she is to the Crujeckie/Crusader/Maxx trio. Her ongoing rivalry with Crujectra and her seemingly seductress ways will prove very interesting when she appears again.

Though my ego likes such stroking, I know a fellow legend when I see one!

I just finished reading Psionic Spear. Good stuff! Pretty epic storyline, and even though I didn't know the backstory of some of the characters (I don't often get to read some of the longer story threads), I felt that enough was explained that it got me on the same page.

Lots of stuff happening, and lots of set up for future plots, as well. And everyone got a chance to shine and take point in the story.

I feel the urge to send a certain emporer to bed without supper, though... he's a bad boy, indeed!

I think LMBP Plaza's Hall of Fallen Heroes will need to open a section devoted to fallen allies. If nothing else, it gives us a reason for more statues

All in all, it was good stuff!

It's catch-up week for FC at Bits.

I loved Mage War. Spellbinder has built up a complex society for Psyonia with different power-types, gives us an interesting explanation of familiars, a magic-mystery story and, of course, some chick trying unsuccessfully to get her claws into Cobie. Fewer of the trademark Spellbinder one-liners in this story, which I've always enjoyed, but the Princess is still in full command of any situation.

Yeah, I kinda left the zingers more for Bob this time around, thinking that maybe both of us shouldn't be smart-asses

Guys, I posted a story on 80PG which chronicles a vignette from when Cobalt and Lardy were at the height of their womanizing ways. I hope no one finds it offensive or misogynist. More than anything, it's a comment on how far the pair have come since then, as they are both now in monogamous relationships. And really, I tried to make it clear that they were major a-holes then, too, and there's a twist at the end to turn it back on them.

It's meant to be light, silly entertainment, but if it sounds like something you'd be offended by, I'd recommend you steer clear of it.

Tamper--Colonial Wellesley is now one of my favorite LMB supporting characters of all. I *need* to know more about his adventures. I can practically hear his voice and see his face.

Rocky--Old Dutch's origin was great! She definately had some of the best lines in Omnia, so I'm looking forward to more appearances.

YK--love, love, love seeing the Primary Colors Gang, and I liked that you used the Fatal Five. I hope we see more stories from you, especially since the 80 pager won't be closing anytime soon.

Cru--you've probably given the best explanation for the Cobie/Crujeckie relationship for those that might not understand it. I like seeing the LMB ladies interact like that too.

Lardy-- hysterical! Truly inspired, with some literal laugh out loud moments! And it is so in tune with the traditional role of Cobalt and Lardy in tag team and LMB stories. Love the inclusion of Jose Luis Garcia Lopez, who was important part of LMB lore back in the day (and remains one of my favorite artists in real life). All this and you hinted at various things in LMB continuity too!

Man, it was purely unintentional, but "Nothing Sacred!" works well as a companion piece to Cru's "Ventura" story!

Crujectra says, "he's sown his wild oats," and then...BOOM...we get a story that exemplifies just that! And I didn't even read Michael's story until after I posted it!

More Colonel Wellesley?

I originally was going to introduce the Colonel in Omnia. Now that I have my notes back from my old computer I can present that story in 80 page giant after a bit of reworking.

Unfortunately that's all the Colonel stuff that will be told for the moment.

I have a longer Onevision (with no Colonel) I've been working on (about 65% done). Between that and the real life demands on my time it means the Colonel won't be appearing again for a while.

Now if we could commission some art of the good Colonel.

Actually, FC, you won't find Metternich in "Omnia". He/She/It was a big part of last summer's "Invasion!" roleplay event! If you have some time on your hands, use "search" on the MMB and look for "Invasion" as the key word. Of the numerous threads, Metternich was most heavily featured in "Dark Oval Embassy" and the eponymous "Invasion!" thread.

However, "Omnia" is more highly recommended as it reads as one huge story, and it gives you a feel for what all happened in Invasion as it segues from that event's aftermath into its own huge mega-story. Give it a few pages, and you'll see it come together!

A big nod to Set for his expansive and delightful Emerald Legion. It really was like an alternate universe, with so many interesting twists on familiar characters. The Rokk-Garth-Imra triangle was very believable. Their core characters from the Legion comic were there, but they seemed more like real people with more complicated relationships. I had a good laugh over Lydda's re-imagined beehive - but it was pleasing to see her with a very strong character for a change.

Although he only had a short appearance, Orin Fex was one of my favorites. He was pretty snooty in the DnA series, and came across even better (or worse) in your story, with supporting comments from other gossipy diplomats.

I always like to see backstories and explanations for the way things are, so it was very cool to have bits like the Venegarians with limited spectrum eyesight, not to mention the insights into the history of Braal, Winath and Titan.

Just one negative comment: I know it must have taken a long time to put all of Sarya's words in green, but I found it very hard to read against the blue background of my screen.

I had a lot of fun playing up stuff that I don't recall seeing as much of in the comics, such as why these three teens left their home-worlds, despite (in Garth's case) a rural upbringing and strong family ties and (in Rokk's case) practical 'rock-star' status on Braal and (in Imra's case) a fairly self-focused race (telepaths being generally more comfortable among fellow telepaths, in most depictions).

Each needed a 'reason' to be leaving the nest, so I had some fun with that.

Lydda came out of nowhere. The bit about Rokk mentioning that someone grabbed his ass in the dark was a completely random quip, and suddenly there was Jath, and they were married, and then Kathoon turned into 30th century Themiscrya! She just took over! She's kinda pushy that way...

The Winathian Ambassadors ended up being my version of Statler and Waldorf (or Crowe T. Robot and Tom Servo). Veanli Guampti, the triple-threat seductress from Cargg, was another favorite. I had a lot of fun with the background characters!

I wanted that stuff to make sense, for my own purposes, and ended up having to cut a bunch of it out, because it was turning *way* too exposition-y. I hate exposition, it messes up the 'flow.'

I'm a bit blue-green color-blind, so it's even more of a bother for me. Between my posts messing up the thread, and my own difficulties reading my posts, I ended up tossing it all on my web-site for my own convenience!

I *considered* making Imra's text pink, Rokk's purple and Garth's yellow, but green-i-fying Sarya's text was so much of a pain that I said 'sprock that.' I was going to strip out the green text, but left it in for the sake of the Emerald Exhibit theme.

EDE's story (so far) about Brainy recreating the lost eyes of Ekron shows the green kid at his best i.e. the polymath Brainy.

The concept of distant simultaneity isn't one that I've personally worried about, but it did make me think about the absence of different time zones in Legion stories. No matter which planet they contact, nobody has ever said "It's 3 a.m. here! You got me out of bed!" Which would be an entirely different story....

Actually, it's not meant to be taken seriously. When I conceived it, I thought "Nothing Sacred!" would be the kind of iconic story that would show Lardy and Cobie at the height of their debaucherous period. There's actually been very little written down, mostly just vague references and entendres. So here's something that people can refer to and say, "man, they sure were sleazeballs!"

But they've come a long way, both now being in committed, monogamous relationships. And really, it would've never worked for me if I didn't come up with the twist you mentioned, something to turn it back on them--even though Lardy apparently was unfazed!

I also tried to show that the two weren't exactly alike, even back then. Notice Cobalt has reservations while Lardy has absolutely NONE. If you've ever read "Turning Point", FC, you'll see how Lardy's romantic views were shaped.

Just looking for a different kind of compliment, Lardy. Chaucer was pretty bawdy - and a great storyteller, if you can get past the language. I wonder what he would have done with Profem or the Grandin Gender Reversal Germ - but it would certainly have involved nuns and a couple of guys running like mad.

I really liked Set's fill-in-the-background on the Tromian massacre of Daxam because it explains the genocide without making the Tromians into total evildoers - and also explains their current highly-spiritual orientation. It gives Jan more of an edge than he has had in the series so far, which is good.

Thanks again! I definitely wanted to see more of that, and I imagine that WaK won't have time to do anything with it, given their imminent departure.

I really felt like that was something that just *had* to be dealt with, and Mon-El's being snatched away before it got dealt with felt like I was robbed. (Then again, issue 1 mentioned off-handedly that Daxam was against the Legion movement, and Sun Boy mentioned having to do something about that, so it seems that in the WaK-era, *someone* is living on Daxam...)

I'm trying to throw together a Blackout/Tasmia Mallor piece for the 80 pg giant and also trying to wrap my brain around a versus piece for this month. I hope to have one of those plotted out well enough to write it next week.

I for one am really looking forward to the text pieces and more art for this one.

Well, I finished my latest onevision. I must warn though, about midway through I felt tremendous writers block and only was able to finish with some private encouragement. While I'm satisfied with it, I think the middle kind of lags, so I don't love it as much as 'Spear'.

Cobie, I'm reading you backwards, with the Horn of Undoing before Psionic Spear. I particularly liked the scene with Cobalt and Princess Tarnia on Grrgg - a nice reflective bit amid all the frantic action. It was also interesting to justify the LMB as home defenders rather than participants in the war. So far, at least....

Thanks FC! Hope you enjoy them! Like I said, I think Psionic Spear is up there as possibly being my finest work yet, but I do think there are some nice moments in 'Horn'. I definately wanted to make it have more action, probably because subconsciously I feel there is such a lack of it in comics today.

I really enjoyed Cobie's two recent stories. Of course I always like it when another writer uses Rockhopper Lad, but I especially like how Cobie writes him, showing the strong sense of duty I try to show when I write him.

I especially liked the part when Actor Lad mumbles about the "old guard" and Rocky smiling at the comment.

You know, Rockhopper Lad and Kid Marvel have been two of my favorite LMBers to write. Both featured somewhat prominently in both of my recent onevisions, and as leader and deputy leader were kind of like the 'must have' members of the roster to use. I think I've really kind of found the rhythm of both characters. I definately see Rockhopper Lad as a natural leader that is able to garner some important insight when things get 'murky'. I see Kid Marvel as brash and courageous but controlled by wisdom of Solomon. Ever since I started writing Kid Marvel in Omnia and now both prominently in these last two, I've enjoyed the characters, which is important to me, since I feel that if I focus too much on Cobalt Kid and the characters I invented that the stories lose a little bit of credibility (despite the catch 22 being that those are characters I can truly do some large changes to). It definately makes it a more enjoyable writing experience.

Similarly, I enjoy writing Actor Lad and Kent for the same reason, though I admit putting more of an effort into staying true to the characters. I particulurly like the notion that Actor Lad and Reboot don't always agree with Cobalt Kid when they're all 'in character', because I generally like to show that Cobalt Kid does things 'his' way, whether others feel its right or wrong.

Again, I'm thrilled you read and enjoyed the stories!

I'm thoroughly enjoying Set's 'a brief interlude', 'Arms stay on boy' and 'a BITS- inspired story' fanfics. Well worth a read! They remind me of the short well thought out plots of Lantern Lad with a dash of Abin Quanks leftfield creativity and a pinch of Danny Blaines well crafted characters. Great stuff Set!

I've finally finished reading Stealths wonderful Imperial Guard fanfic, and twice tried to reply on the thread to bump it up to the first page for all to read but for some reason neither post took Oh well, just as well Chuck set up this thread all those years ago isn't it?

Anyway, Stealth, I really enjoyed it! The characters were well written, each quite individual and believable (from Raila's initial nerves to Nightsides grace and scintillas bitchiness and Gladiators ego - all good!), the pacing was great, the plot dramatic and I'm looking forward to the third part where (I hope) Boll-Drik will come up with a cunning plan Of course, I need more, more, more!

That's one of my favorites as well. I'm a big Imperial Guard fan as well, and they are, but for a tiny step sideways, pretty much the Legion anyway.

For what it's worth, "The Covenant" is back after a lengthy hiatus (though not as long as the one for "Turning Point" :rolleyes: ). I think I began this one too soon after completing "Smoke and Mirrors" and got too burned out too quickly. I'm committed, at least, to getting Part Two out in a timely manner. At least the long wait kinda mirrors the length of the mission, right?

I've been missing Adelie, though this has given me a chance to develop Tim and Hyvvie's characters a bit.

Yep! Eventually there'll be a scene where the double meaning causes all sorts of Abbot-and-Costello-esque confusion!

The title originates with a post by Actor Lad in the mods forum. Noticing the double meaning, I responded with a joke about an unreavealed tale featuring Turns-You-Into-a-State Kid, and the idea for the tag team was born!

I even thought of a cool twist further tying it all together! But I'll keep that on the downlow to discourage editorializing for now.

We may need some editorializing Cobie, the time line split was all I could come up with after I realized that Far and I had posted wildly differing versions of the same scene (Lardy, both EDE's, and Pagan Lass leaving the cell after Lardy agreed to wear clothing for now, anyway).

We also have two different versions of the JSMBP appearing because I couldn't resist using Cloned Green Pig again... so I guess what I'm saying is... HELP!

Honestly, Chuck, I don't think those two posts threw things all that far off. In a way, I thought they both kind of fit.

The larger problem currently appears to be a lack of interest by the scribes involved. For me, it comes down to all the real-life holiday madness! Maybe we can agree to revisit this after the holidays and complete it? It would be a shame to have such a rip-roaring adventure fade out with no ending, I say!

So maybe we can resume after New Year's, perhaps with a patented EDE recap (hint-hint)? What say you all?

Hopefully we can keep this one going because I have a fun idea to tie my entire 32nd Century adventure into the stories of the modern era and one or two other earlier scenes!

The comments by Yk [snif!] and others on this thread made me think of virtgrad's " Shattered Illusions (G)", one of the better fanfics I've ever read about how Superman might have regarded his teammates in the Legion. It has elements of the various cartoon series in it, but you don't need to know them well to enjoy the story.

New Black Op story was great. I was surprised with Ayva. I was thinking that Hot Chick deflowered Timber Wolf.

But what I really loved was that this mission was really covert, made it interesting to read.

Thanks. It was supposed to be a little misleading as far as his actual mission.

As far as Hot Chick and he go...there is a reason that he is with her, only part of it is revealed in this story.

That must have been when I was away...because I do not remember that at all.
