Yep Johns is known for this (see the new Hawkman) and he's had this story in mind for two years since JSA issue 45. I all aflutter wondering which legion she was supergirl in?
Nothing's off the table now. Maybe Earth-2 had a legion after all and this new WaK legion is almost an exact replica leading into crisis?. Maybe we'll be seing a 15 year old powergirl joining full time in WaK .

Interesting. I've been wondering for years if they'd ever retell Crisis post-Zero Hour (and now post-WaK) in a way that deals with the Legion's involvement. Did the post-Crisis, post-Zero Hour Crisis event cut across the timestream like the original did?

This new origin spackles quite a bit of things together doesn't it?
It seems like a combination of Byrne's take on Donna Troy/Wonder Girl, being a "brought to life" mirror image of Diana) and Darkseid's kidnapping of Garridan Ranzz (the "hidden" twin of Garth and Imra), mutating him into Validus and throwing him into the past...
I trust Geoff, but I hope it isn't too soon in the WaK Legionverse to be introducing 21st Century DC characters. We're repeating a messy history, it's just a new and improved future we're muckin' with!

With any luck they have to coordinate the appearence with Steve Wacker and Mark Waid. (that editorial oversight thing) I'll bet there's a "catch" to it that keeps it out of the Legion continuity for the time being.

PG was an adult when first introduced. This is why I think the Laurel Kent idea works best since it doesn't necessarily tie her to the Legion, but may link her to their era.

Wasn't the whole point of this half arsed reboot because legion continuity was too convoluted for new fans and now you want to throw Powergirl in the mix. This could be the moment people reflect on in a few years as to when the reboot when to poop.
I thought the reboot was a sales issue rather than any idea that it was convoluted. It was anything but that.

Arrrgh! It's Donna Troy all over again! I blame John Byrne!
