Further info: the movie in question was released after Flash Gordon but before Jumping Jack Flash.
I went wirh the blamks clue because any other clue I've thought of as of yet would be too easy.

New hint: the title is more than three words long. If abbreviated to an acronym, you need only two letters, both repeated at least once.

Not Chitty. Again, there is no Flash connection in the title. Either look at HWW's guess or ignore the blanks clue, as everyone but HWW seems to leap the wrong way using that hint.

Or if you do use the blanks clue, look not for a movie title, but rather a different sort of name.

Yeah, sorry, Kent. I wasn't trying to put a Flash connection in the title. Instead, I scanned info on the film's cast, crew, and production staff looking for "Allen", or "Barry", or "West", or "Gerrick", etc. I couldn't think of a movie that fit both clues. I overreached in a subject that I knew was not my forte, and apologize for it.
