Vee, you really did an outstanding job on all of these, but these are the ones that really caught my eye... POLAR BOY AND ICEMAN- I want to use this idea. LIGHTNING LASS AND BLACK LIGHTNING- great visual pairing SUPERBOY AND CAPT. MARVEL JR.- ditto COS AND MAGNETO- My drawing of these two is still in progress.... BOUNCING BOY AND BEAST- I want to steal this idea POISON IVY- HOTTTT! MON-EL AND DONNA TROY- I had planned on drawing these two in matching uniforms! SUN BOY AND HUMAN TORCH- excellent pairing, visually INSECT QUEEN AND BUMBLEBEE-ditto MYSA-HOTTTTT! DREAMY-HOTTTT! Dean: That Lightning Lad & Storm pic is just awesome! So much power comes through. Great job!
Monstress & She Hulk! What a perfect pair up. I had gone round and round trying to think of a pairing for Candi and finally decided on Grace of the current Outsiders. She Hulk just never came to mind.
Brin and Logan look terrific too. I wanted to avoid that pair because I guessed that others would do it and wanted to try something a little different.

Thanks, Suncat. The guy is Marvel's Nighthawk. He gains enhanced strength during the night. He used to be in the Defenders and can currently be seen guesting in both "The Thing" and "New Thunderbolts".

He started as the Squadron Sinister's "Batman" (where Whizzer/Speed Demon was Flash, Hyperion was Superman and Dr Spectrum was GL)

Drake: Besides the awesome artwork, you've come up with some neat pair ups. Love the Night Girl & Nighthawk and the Daredevil/Timber Wolf is a great idea.
Wildfire & Human Bomb is a natural and funny as well. I could really see that scene playing out if those two ever met.
And it's really awesome to see Rond make an appearance in Lantern gear!
Love the Gates also but I'm not familiar with the X girl with the sword. I have seen pics of the guys with Chuck before. Is his name Cannonball? (I assume he's an X-Man as well)
Putting together my pics and seeing the contributions by others has shown me just how "X-ignorant" I really am. To think the original X-Men were among my top five comics when I was growing up.
Still have most of that original series and the first few issues of the relaunch which introduced Nighcrawler, Colossus, Storm and Thunderbird (?) & bought Banshee into the fold. That's about when I stopped collecting most comics and I never was able to get back into the X-men years later...too confusing trying to figure out who all of them were.
SIDENOTE: I tried finding a good web resource that listed the army of X-Men in all it's permutations and couldn't find a single site that had much info at all. Most only mention the biggies (Wolverine, Cyclops, Emma, Prof, etc) but I never found one that would have told me who Cannonball was or what his powers are (for example) Anyone got any good X-resource links.

To answer your other questions, the guy with Chuck is Speedball. He's one of the New Warriors (no X connection) -- he bounces around.
The girl with Gates is Magik. She was Colossus' sister who had the ability to create teleportation disks. The sword and partial armor is a whole 'nother story. She's currently dead.
This has been a great gallery to create for and to see. It's fun to see what combos come up -- awesome job guys!

I'm no kind of artist, but I decided to write a brief encounter between my two favourite transmuters: Element Lad and Miss America. I hope you like it.
"Changes"
“Oh, man, what a headache!” I shouted as I woke up. I didn’t wake up in a bed or in a house or anyplace that looked safe. It looked more like a–a waiting room! I was sitting in a rather uncomfortable chair in a huge waiting room!
“Morning, Goldilocks,” a voice came from my left. I turned and saw a lovely brunette in a chair next to me. Her long hair was in a style that could have come right off a 1940s fashion magazine. She was wearing a domino mask, a red blouse, red-and-white striped skirt and a blue cape. “I thought you’d never wake up.”
“Who are you?”
“My name is Joan. Joan Dale. You might have heard of me as Miss America.”
“I’m sorry. I’m having trouble remembering my own name at the moment. Wait–it’s Jan. Jan Arrah. Element Lad.”
“Pleased to meet you, Jan. I hope you won’t be here too long.”
“Where’s ‘here’?”
“This,” Joan smirked, “This is where comics characters get sent went no one wants to use us. We get killed off, our series gets cancelled, we get ‘retconned out of existence’. This is super-hero limbo. This is a waiting room is what it is! I’ve spent most of the last 60 years here.”
“That’s right! They killed me off. They had me go bad and then they had Lightning Lad–er, Live Wire take my body. After I’d given them so many years. I’d even been ‘rebooted’, whatever that means!”
“Don’t worry, kid. You’ll get back eventually. The Legion fans love their characters. Still, it’s not too surprising you’re here. It’s hard to write for us transmuters.”
“You seem to know a lot about me, Joan, but, well, I think I’ve heard of you, but I’m not sure.”
“Well, that’s not hard to understand. They’ve only changed me a million times. I was one of the first, kid. I was one of the first super-powered heroines in comics. I was around months before that hussy Wonder Woman! Ooh! I can’t stand that whore! Super-strength and speed. Oh, what original powers! I could turn that magic lasso into a yo-yo and that invisible plane into a little red wagon and then we’d see what she does!”
“Really?”
“Yeah. My series got cancelled after only seven issues, and no one sees me for 40 years and the oh-so Wonderful Woman bursts on the scene at the same time I disappear and gets all the credit for being ‘the first super-heroine’! I’m the Hydrox to her Oreo! I was first, but everyone knows her, so they assume I’m a knock-off and I disappear! And when they do bring me back, it’s just to kill me off”
“I’m sorry.”
“Oh, but get this: They decide that she can’t exist in the forties and in the present, so they get rid of her in the forties. And guess who they get to take her place in the Justice Society? Me! Finally! The big time! Even if it’s decades in the past, I still get to have a big role in history. They even gave me her daughter. Nice girl. Her name’s Lyta. She’s around here somewhere.”
“Cool!”
“But then some writer comes along and decides I’m not a good enough replacement for the hussy, so he concocts this silly thing about her mother–who already exists in the ‘40s, mind you–travelling back in time to join the JSA in my place! And it’s back to limbo I go! If it doesn’t have Stupidman Bat-twerp or Wonder Whore in it, they don’t think it will sell.”
“I know what you mean. The Legion outgrew its need for Superboy very quickly, but they still thought we needed him. It’s all about money I’m sure.”
“Well, thanks for letting me vent. I like you kid. It’s a shame they won’t let you come out!”
“You know about that?”
“Honey, everyone knows!”
“It almost happened. When they decided Shvaughn Erin was really Sean Erin. But they backed off and we got ‘rebooted’.”
“I don’t see why it’s a problem. I mean, come on, does running around in pastel spandex sound remotely like anything a straight man would do?”
I laughed. “Not really.”
“As I said, Jan, they don’t know how to write characters who can change the world around them, so they change us. You’re gay, then you’re not. I’m in the JSA, then I’m not. We’ve both been killed off. They brought me back. They’ll bring you back.”
“Joan, do you really think they’ll bring me back?”
“Probably. But they’ll probably put some stupid limitations on your powers or something.”
“Yeah.”
We both stared into space for ages.
“Joan?”
“Yes?”
“Do our powers work here?”
“We can’t escape, but they do.”
“Want to see what changes we can make?”
“Kid, I thought you’d never ask!”

Doop is this green blobby mutant from Marvel's "X-Statix" and he has a bunch of different powers. He once swallowed his teammates and coughed them up unharmed... Overall he's a fun (bizarre) character.
