Here's a picture of Mysa I drew that was colored by someone here on Legion World a while back. Loser Lad seems the obvious choice, but I have this nagging feeling it wasn't he, and I can't find the post that says who did. If you recognize it, please let me know so I can give credit where credit is due.

Didn't Reboot color that? I love it, btw.

Thanks! Whoever did color it (you may be right), s/he did a beautiful job -- really makes her pop.

So who's next?

Yeah, I think the WWitch window was coloured by me. I can't remember where from though, and the search is completely borked again for anything over a couple of months back, so I can't find it.

Couple of more from me, Mordru and White Witch

Very cool work, folks.

Reboot, I'm sorry I couldn't remember who did that great job with her, but thanks again for doing such a beautiful job.

A little White Witch I did for White Raven forever ago.

Great work everyone!! I love how Dragonmage's costume is so... cool. And all the White Witches are just phenomenal. All of you boys have done an amazing job.

Okay, a bit of a rant....I was hoping to see a different variety of characters. Mysa already had her own exhibit.

So, I want to give positive reinforcement to MEL for the Dragonmage image and to dedman for the Mordru drawing.

I have some sketches done, but because of recently hectic RL, they are misplaced. As soon as I find them, I'll scan and post.

Meanwhile, bring on the mages!

Lovely stuff all! Just some old pictures from me at the moment - I've been a bit busy to come up with new stuff...

First, a fantasty-ish Alchemist:

And a Dragonmage I'm sure many of you have seen before...

That Dragonmage is rad!

With 27 galleries in the museum thus far, Dean, it's inevitable that we'd have some overlap by now. Especially with some of the more "photogenic" Legionnaires, such as Mysa.

Wayne certainly has followed up with diverse offerings! I missed that Alchemist and Dragonmage on the first go-round, and I'd have noticed that adept line art and subtle coloring (especially the gradations on that dragon).

Posted by Sketch Lad on :

Mysa belongs here, but so do many, many other characters. That's what I'm asking for. Considering that we've had a "Lallorians" theme and a "Mano" theme, just for examples, I think it's clear that we CAN avoid overlap for a VERY long time.

Wayne's Dragonmage image is excellent. The Alchemist is good, too, and fits within the theme very well. MEL's tabloid cover is fun as well.

As I said, I'll be contributing soon. I'll probably give up looking for those other sketches and just do new ones.

Here are a couple cover gags I did for my Legion APA, APA-LSH, a while back. My Mysa was for that group, too.

Thanks, SS. Those cartoons are cute, too.

Well done guys.

Seymour, the cartoons are indeed cute.

Sketch Lad, the drawings are scary - in a good way.

Thanks, wwc!

Seymour your Mordu is so cute! And Sketch Lad, that coloring job you did on Mordu is amazing! Love how you rendered the skin - you should ask Mechana if she can hook you up with a coloring job!

The Teachers of Xerox

Posted by Sketch Lad on :

Nice, dedster!

I was going to draw them, but my comics are all out of order/misplaced.

See....my office is a big ol mess right now and it'll take a long time to deal with it so I'm just...denying...it until I can drum up the energy to really dig in...

Anyway, for some reason, your depiction of the Teachers makes me think of tarot cards. It'd be fun to manipulate them into that....

Posted by dedman on :

thanks sketchy!!!.....actually i have been thinking of doing a legion tarot set as well, it would be an interesting project.

Posted by walkwithcrowds on :

A Legion Tarot would be very interesting. How would you go about it? All "regular" art methods or photo manips - you're good at both.

Posted by Star Boy on :

There's been some great stuff here, and it's the end of the month already! I've been so busy and haven't had a chance to add some other stuff I've partially completed... [Frown] Or, in fact, finish it. [Wink]
I guess I'll be adding something after the month's over once things settle down a bit. [Smile]

Interesting indeed! Though a bit confusing, as characters and personalities had changed during LSH's publishing history... so who would you choose, and why?

I believe there's a reference to the Tarot in Legionnaires #48. While Mordru's other Legionnaire captive are simply hanging upside-down, Jan's pose is somewhat like that of 'The Hanged Man'. Somewhat, as Jan's arms are crossed in front of him and it's his right leg that's bent.

Note that I'm not an expert on the subject. I'm working from an article about a D&D artifact based on the Tarot (Sept. '83 issue of Dragon Magazine).

I dunno, I'm still just thinking on it right now. Though some cards are obvious, like "The Magician" = White Witch and "The Sun" = Sun Boy. Actually I'm quite open to suggestions on this project.....anyone has any input PM me.

I always hate it when the pictures are missing.
sigh

I especially love the Seymour cartoons and Sarvisa by Sketch.
Who IS Sarvisa?
He's gorgeous, and the bird really helps the composition to be memorable.

Here's a faery from the rollplaying in Legion World's Cloud Castle ~
 -
She's from ANTM, Saheesha, which is a good name for the faery, too.

I had to Google him, 'cause I didn't recognize the character either. He's described as 'Sarvisa of Xerox (the Sorcerer's World)' and contacts the Stephen Strange wannabe on Earth during the Magic Wars about something. Issue 61 of Legion of Super-Heroes (part 2 of 4, of the Magic Wars, according to the screen I saw of the cover).

My choice for him, there were other photos with longer stuff, but this seemed more like the essense of Mordru rather than the fake glam.

This is a beautiful image, very complex and interesting.
The central figure is a male, which is rare in this Fantasy grouping.

I think of him as Omen.

Yes, it does, FC!
I love that artist's work!

I posted this on Kent's Camelot story thread but decided to put it here, too.
This time, it's part of the current (retro) Legion's history.
Lu and Tinya visit the Sorceror's World to spend time with Mysa soon after the Evillo story when Nura and Throm get the Legion to rescue the White Witch from her Hag curse.
