Year Six: The De Facto Yellow Kid & Harbinger Term
Part IV: The Good, the Dark and the Dead

Note – the ‘Real History’ section will follow the ‘In Continuity’ sections for an overview

Part I: The Wedding of the High Priestess Viviane and Cobalt Kid
With only Cobalt Kid, Matlock and the High Priestess Viviane as active Security Office on Legion World (Invisible Brainiac and Arachne were away on LMB missions), they decide to begin holding tryouts for jobs.

During Security Office tryouts, Viviane and Cobalt, who had always been very close, become extremely more so. Viviane tells him that she wants to marry. The two appear very in love and say yes.

One possible candidate is new arrival on Legion World, Disaster Boy. Who he is and where he comes from remains a mystery but he quickly immerses himself in Legion World daily life. However, not everyone is convinced that he is on the side of angels.

Despite Cobalt Kid already being married to Space Tart, it is a Ggrrggian custom for males to have many wives and Cobalt Kid sees nothing wrong with this, despite some of his LMB friends, notably Outdoor Miner and Semi-Transparent Fellow, warning him that this could end up being problematic.

Preparations begin getting made as half of Legion World laments at the idea knowing this will only end bad given Viviane’s family and Cobalt’s history of children, let alone LMB wedding ceremonies.

Viviane’s family disrupts SHAKES for a few days and causes problems, forcing Semi-Transparent Fellow to ban them.

The Sorceress Morgause warns against the wedding and is laughed at because of her history as the villainous one of all the Avalonians.

Princess Crujectra prefers not to attend, while her brother Crusader goes in her place. For the first time, Mykal and others notice Crujectra’s usual fond feelings for Cobalt may be more than what they’ve been thought to be in the past.

Matlock at first disapproves whole-heartedly because as the third senior security officer he does not want to get caught in the middle. Eventually, when he sees its to no avail, he agrees to go and serve as minister.

Many weeks go by as anticipation builds on Legion World, especially among the lurking class and Alt ID community, who have been long supporters of Cobalt Kid. Those who know Cobalt Kid and Viviane better, however, have more a sense of dread than anticipation.

Eryk Davis Ester, one of Cobalt Kid’s best friends and fellow Triumvir will not be able to make the wedding, as he makes it known that he and his army have now settled on a different lifestyle on Greg Evigan Island. This lifestyle of peace and self-actualization is different from their former war-like ways. Additionally, each soldier will receive a chimpanzee squire.

Matlock suspiciously does not make the wedding, and Kent Shakespeare steps in as minister. Unknown to the LMB, Matlock is accidently lost in a time bubble for a period and travels back to the past. He is rescued by a Viking Princess—who Matlock does not realize is Hrun the Barbarian’s mother when she was a late teenager. She quickly falls in love with him as she nurses him back to health. Eventually he’ll return, though it pains his heart.

A great number of LMBers attend, as Kent Shakespeare begins the ceremony. Still, many expected to be there are not there, as the engagement was extremely short. All hell breaks loose moments before the wedding. Just before ‘yes’, Viviane suddenly unleashes a fury upon Legion World, and begins attacking. Taking the name Dark Priestess Viviane, a huge battle erupts.

The wedding guests in attendance – Space Ranger, Abin Quank, Emerald Empress, Crusader, the Red Bee, Varalent, Cobalt’s Supergirl Robot, Matlock, Kent Shakespeare – battle Viviane. In the opening moments of confusion, Abin Quank hurls Sorceress Morgause away, unaware that she is on the LMB’s side. Cobalt Kid, stunned, quickly regains his composure and rips off his tux, revealing his uniform. He then battles Viviane.

Queen Igraine and Morgaine of the Fairies, the Royal Family of Avalon, join Viviane.

Other guests, such as lurkers and normal citizens of Legion World, are unsure what to do. Disaster Boy, a guest in the wedding in the citizens of Legion World section, enters the fray but is unsure which side he wants to take, revealing for the first time that his motives are not clear.

Disguised in the audience with his own nefarious plans, The Royal Inquisitor enters the fray and destroys the Supergirl Robot, as well as killing Dustin Hoffman who randomly starts banging on glass.

Monkey-Eater Lad, also a guest, steps in to help out, ripping off his uniform, but realizes that he is naked underneath. He fights the battle naked.

Startling revelations are made clear, as Viviane’s intentions have been nefarious all along: Cobalt’s amulets, a gift to him from Viviane, have been empowered to weaken his will and make him her slave—and this is only stopped by Semi-Transparent Fellow and Varalent. Further, Viviane has been drugging the libations at SHAKES for weeks, as numerous toasts have been made, and all of the LMB at large find themselves suddenly much weakened with their powers dampened.

Suddenly in the middle of the battle, Kent Shakespeare falls into a coma and, via song, begins channeling a propehcy (link to first part) that reveals specific elements of the events that have happened, are happening and have yet to happen. His words, more symbolic than anything, reveal that a key may prove to be the center of this entire event.

Viviane unleashes two powerful spells, one creating an army of Cobalt clones that quickly become bizarros, and then another to become a slimy tentacle monster.

Finally back in action on Legion World, the Emerald Empress and Space Ranger work together and destroy the tentacle monster, joking that the romantic atmosphere isn’t quite their type of night out when compared to destroying monsters side by side.

Space Tart, after weeks of being missing, enters the ceremony grounds and rejoins Cobalt and the LMB to fight Viviane. Pagan Lass also enters the fray, channeling her own pagan Goddess.

The battle rages on all night and into the morning as both teams suffer losses and victories.

Dark Priestess Viviane and her family retire to the Holy Isle of Avalon, floating over Legion World, which is now The Unholy War Planet Avalon! She prepares to unleash a series of devastating attacks, as her minions continue to battle the LMB.

The LMB sit in the ruins of the wedding, as they gather together and decide what to do next. Outdoor Miner and Yellow Kid join them, as does Princess Crujectra, who along with Space Tart console Cobalt Kid.

Faraway Lad finally shows up late, wondering what happened to the wedding.

Part II: Choosing Sides
Semi-Transparent Fellow and Outdoor Miner ban the royal family from SHAKES, although they attempt to return a few times. Along with Emerald Empress and Varalent, they have a series of stand-offs with the Avalonians.

Dark Priestess Viviane encourages other evil posters to join her, as the Royal Inquisitor, forever looking to have revenge on the LMBers he hates, pledges allegiance. Disaster Boy weighs the benefits of good and evil and ultimately chooses the side of evil for this fight. He joins her on her isle.

Matlock suggests that the remaining LMBers retire to an old headquarters or something, as heroes are apt to do in times of crisis and make plans. The Red Bee initiates this by going back to a briefly used Old LMB Headquarters on the opening days of the their arrival on Legion World. Rarely ever seen, the LMB stock up on beer and booze and decide what to do next.

The Cobie Bizzarro clones become a bigger problem as they roam Legion World. Cobalt Kid suggests that he knows just the man to stop them: Reboot, whose distaste for Cobalt is well documented. Forming an uneasy alliance, Reboot assembles a machine to help destroy the Cobalt clones, although the effects may kill Cobalt in the process. Cobalt, after a heavy decision, tells him to go through with it. He does and Cobalt is quickly in enormous pain, as Space Tart gives him some support. Eventually all the clones die, as Cobalt hinges on the edge. He wakes back up, although now he has lost his magnetism powers, and only maintains his healing and spiritual powers.

Strangely, one Cobalt Clone, Bizarro Cobalt #9, survives.

Reboot maintains that he’ll protect Legion World, but offers no sympathy or allegiance to Cobalt Kid or the LMB in stopping Dark Viviane, his distaste for the De Facto leadership controversy still apparent.

A series of stand-offs continue to occur at SHAKES, the Unholy War Isle and the Old HQ for the next few days as a build-up of weapons occurs. Faraway Lad joins the LMB and then goes on a secret mission to the Unholy War Isle to scout it out.

Cobalt Kid writes to his fellow Triumvirs and informs them of what is occurring. He tells them to be ready, just in case of the need to use the Legion World armies to stop Dark Priestess Viviane. Grey Birdboy writes that they should be wary of entering Legion World, as ancient tradition espouses, and Cobaltus agrees.

Eryk Davis Ester, the other triumvir, writes back with other news, informing Cobaltus that his army has now taken the path of peace under the tutelage of Greg Evigan. Becoming more hippie-like in nature, Eryk Davis Ester and his army pursue their own interests, to the chagrin of Cobalt Kid. As each soldier in Eryk’s army receive a chimpanzee squire, Eryk Davis Ester introduces his own chimpanzee, Calamity Monkey to Cobalt Kid’s envoys. EDE is amazed at his growing Legion of Super-Pets, as Jinx, his cat, also joins them.

Calamity Monkey quickly becomes well known to many LMBers, though he and Jinx seem to not get along. Eryk Davis Ester’s feline appears jealous that her master’s love for him would be transferred to Calamity Monkey, though the monkey appears to be enamored with Jinx. Often, both are seen on Legion World’s main city as Eryk Davis Ester’s appearances become more and more infrequent.

The Royal Inquisitor threatens to destroy Fat Cramer, as she is one of the posters he hates the most, along with Blockade Boy and Cobalt Kid. Many are angered by this and preparations begin getting made.

Queen Connie reappars on Legion World to join the fight against Viviane. She uses her cat-like ability to get into anywhere she wants to begin sabotaging the Unholy Isle.

The mounting pressures begin to percolate and the assault on the Unholy Isle begins.

Part III: The Assault on the Unholy War Planet Avalon
The Red Bee, Yellow Kid, Matlock, a de-powered Cobalt Kid and Faraway Lad initially start the invasion of the Unholy Isle of Avalon. There, they are met by Dark Priestess Viviane, High Queen Igraine and Mograine of the Fairies and a large battle ensues.

A large rift grows between Disaster Boy and Dark Priestess Viviane, until it cumulates with Disaster Boy turning his back on the witches and joining the LMB in battle! Turning to the side of good for his own reasons, Disaster Boy fights back against the Avalonians.

Gay Green Giant of the Primary Colors Gang joins his pal Yellow Kid and the LMB in the battle. The Sorceress Morgause suddenly returns and joins the battle on the side of the LMB.

While the LMB is battling on Avalon, the Royal Inquisitor seizes this moment to bomb the Old LMB HQ and reduces it to smoldering ruins. He continues to threaten that he will destroy Café Cramer, as revenge against Fat Cramer, one of the posters that he hates the most. Initially, there appears to be no loss of life at the old LMB HQ, however, they are uncertain and a clean-up crew of security officers begins going through the rubble, as the LMB remains in battle and spread thin.

Dark Priestess Viviane joins her sisters and they channel a spell directly from the Goddess into Viviane, giving her massive power. She uses a spell to have stars begin raining down upon Legion World.

Reboot appears on the scene, in defense of Legion World, and uses his abilities to transfer the magical energy into pure energy, stopping the stars from raining onto Legion World while Glitch maintains his forcefield in case of physical impact. Acting as a safety net against LW in general, he never actually joins the fray.
A great darkness begins emulating from the Unholy Isle and permeates onto Legion World.

Dark Viviane uses a spell to decay Yellow Kid’s skin. Yellow Kid responds with ‘super spin’ power, imprisoning the three witches briefly. Cobalt Kid uses his healing powers to heal Yellow Kid, and is able to have a brief moment where he looks Viviane directly in the eyes. At this point, he becomes convinced that Viviane is being controlled by someone or some force and is not lashing out at the LMB on her own free will.

The LMBers are suddenly pushed off the Isle, only to be rescued by Space Tart, who joins them late and saves them from falling. Deciding that the battle is counter-productive, the LMBers decide to leave the Unholy Isle and figure out where to go from here, without killing Viviane in the process if they can avoid it. Matlock and Red Bee suggest they return to their old HQ, which they do, only to find it completely destroyed.

Year Six: The De Facto Yellow Kid & Harbinger Term
Part IV: The Good, the Dark and the Dead (cont’d)

Part IV: The Dead
The various LMBers split up, under the command of Yellow Kid, to deal with various problems.

Leaving the rubble of the old HQ building, Cobalt Kid and Matlock have a conference at Café Cramer. Here, they decide that Cobalt will go off on his own quest to regain his powers, while Matlock stands guard at Café Cramer to fend off an attack by the Royal Inquisitor. Other preparations are made to deal with Dark Priestess Viviane. The Red Bee is inducted into the Security Office at this meeting.

Cobalt Kid seeks out Princess Crujectra at the Psyonian Embassy and gets her advice on how to proceed on his quest for his powers.

The ghost of Faraway Lad appears to Yellow Kid, Outdoor Miner, Kent Shakespeare and Cobalt Kid at different locations on Legion World suddenly.

Gay Green Giant uncovers the broken body of Faraway Lad under the Rubble of the old HQ. Cobalt Kid attempts to heal him with his powers and accomplishes this to a small extent, but Faraway Lad continues to move closer to the edge of dying. Yellow Kid encases him in a time sphere to stall the death and brings him to Medicus One.

Cobalt Kid journeys to the Security Office and makes the Red Bee’s induction official. Here, he sends a distress call to his old ally Hrun the Barbarian to join him on Legion World and help on his quest.

The Royal Inquisitor continues to make bold threats against Café Cramer. Fat Cramer joins the Red Bee, Space Tart, Matlock and others at her Café and gladly welcomes the Inquisitor to try. The Emerald Empress, holding a long-standing grudge against the Inquisitor joins them and awaits an opportunity for revenge.

Outdoor Miner continues to drink massive amounts of alcohol throughout the crisis, which helps motivate and encourage the citizens of Legion World to remain calm.

Throughout this, a strange smell begins emanating from a small hut called the ‘i farted thread’. Kid Vudoo is sent in to investigate and finds new LMBer Polar Boy.

Doctor One makes an emergency journey back to Legion World to begin working on Faraway Lad.

Disaster Boy, now on the side of good, journeys to Daxam at immense speed and is able to get a handful of Daxamite scientists to help restore Faraway Lad to life. He brings them back, where they join Doctor One and begin attempting to figure out how to save him. Gigglebot Girl becomes inconsolable as Poverty Lad holds her while the two look on.

Cobalt Kid checks in on Eryk Davis Ester’s hippie army to see how things are progressing, only to discover the mayhem that Calamity Monkey is causing and Lash wearing a new tie-dye shirt. EDE has now resumed his Mayavale-esque haircut of old. This inspires Cobalt to look for Dr. Mayavale, who may be able to help Cobalt regain his powers through spiritual means.

The Darkness continues to spread from the Unholy Isle. Dark Priestess Viviane mysteriously makes no attacks, which worries the LMB.

Cobalt Kid ventures to the ‘Giant Squid Memorial Center for Advancement of Alt ID Culture”, which he had not been to in awhile, looking for Dr. Mayavale. He is unable to find Dr. Mayavale or Lucifer Lass, a co-curator of the museum and someone he thought might be useful. However, he discovers an ancient Alt ID artifact: a prophecy that had gone unnoticed but describes recent events, and tells that an Alt ID/lurker posing as a real poster may be a LMB traitor. Cobalt wonders if his spirituality powers pointed this out to him. Hrun the Barbarian joins Cobalt at the center and the two are reunited. Hrun tells that his seers have recently had similar visions to the Prophecy and Cobalt begins to suspect that this may be coming true.

Yellow Kid has Gay Green Giant assemble the old Primary Color’s Gang to prepare for a journey into the pocket dimension of Superboy back in time, to see if his phantom zone projector may be of some use in helping Faraway Lad. Outdoor Miner volunteers to go on this mission with him.

Hrun the Barbarian stops into SHAKES to see old friends and is greeted by Semi-Transparent Fellow, Disaster Boy and a new regular, Polar Boy. He has a quick bit of fun with Babette the android barmaid there. Calamity Monkey makes a surprise appearance at SHAKES also, and not surprisingly, is very affectionate to Semi-Transparent Fellow.

Other LMBers continue to subtly prepare for the Inquisitor’s attack. Queen Connie and Gay Green Giant stay there.

Cobalt Kid and Hrun venture to Varalent’s Variable Villa to get his advice on how to proceed from here. They begin formulating ideas for what this prophecy means, as well as how to get Cobalt Kid’s power back and stop Viviane. During their conversation, Hrun slips about Faraway Lad’s status, causing a commotion among the Varangian Guard (a troop of Faraway’s that reside at the Villa with Varalent) as they rush to their lord’s side.

Outdoor Miner is caught up in bringing Hrun to see Faraway Lad after meeting him at the Villa, so Disaster Boy and Reboot take his place on the mission to the Pocket Universe with Yellow Kid and members of the PC Gang.

Part V: Lifeline
Naming their vision “Lilfeline”, Yellow Kid, Reboot and Disaster Boy head backwards into time into a pocket dimension with Red Menace and Big Blue Mutha of the Primary Colors Gang. They arrive in Smallville and seek out Superboy to help them.

Reboot remains behind trying to ensure the timestream doesn’t fall apart with his own powers and with Glitch. After disguising themselves as hippies, the other four heroes have a brief interlude with Lana Lang and Ma and Pa Kent, before being joined by Superboy and Mon-El (aka Valor). Soon, they attempt to find the phantom zone-projector.

During their search, they are ambushed by the Time Trapper, who monitors this dimension and a battle ensues. While Yellow Kid, Disaster Boy, Supeboy, Mon-El and the Primary Color Gang battle the Time Trapper, a separate battle rages between the Trapper and Reboot with the timestream as its prize. Red Menace makes the ultimate sacrifice to send his friends home, although Superboy, Mon-El and the Time Trapper are all lost in the timestream.

Yellow Kid, Disaster Boy, Reboot and a badly wounded Big Blue Mutha return, unsuccessful. In the interim, Faraway Lad’s condition has only worsened.

Part VI: Transitions
The Varangian Guard rush to Medicus One to gather around their Lord Faraway Lad. Believing him dead, they kidnap his body, unaware that by taking him away from the various technologies of Medicus One, they are condemning him to death. A melee ensues ending with Faraway Lad missing.

Cobalt Kid, seeing everything continually falling apart, takes action by undergoing a peyote induced quest in the desert. There, he comes to understand that his recent Time Trapper status should have repowered him up, but this did not happen do to his body’s equilibrium being thrown in the favor of his spiritual powers over his magnetism. With the help of Dr. Mayavale, who teaches him how to process the knowledge that all Time Trapper’s gain, Cobalt is able to regain his powers. He returns to the Security Office, dons a new costume designed for him by Crusader, and ventures back out to finish things.

Disaster Boy joins Cobalt at one time, although he is distracted by Hrun, Gigglebot Girl, Calamity Monkey, Reboot and Outdoor Miner, who all journey to find the two peyote taking heroes. Getting away as far as he can to learn more about his origins, Disaster Boy goes to his “Black Room” to better understand these things.

Gigglebot Girl gets in an uproar over the missing Faraway Lad, and uses a lollypop bomb on Outdoor Miner as he tries to explain what’s being done to help him. The Red Bee is able to use his red bees to burrow through the gum-filled bomb and free Outdoor Miner from its restraints. In the meantime, Semi Transparent Fellow ensured Outdoor Miner could still consume alcohol through an ingenious use of IV technology.

Hrun the Barbarian uses his natural immunity to magic to once again begin assaulting High Priestess Viviane’s island. After breaking down her defenses, he is joined by Space Tart, Gay Green Giant, Yellow Kid, and a newly returned to Legion World Dedman.

With the LMB spread increasingly thin, Matlock keeps an eye out on Café Cramer for word of the Royal Inquisitor, with the help of Varalent, Queen Connie, Kent Shakespeare and the Red Bee, as well as Fat Cramer and Emerald Empress who join in when they can.

The Varangian Guard bring Faraway Lad’s comatose body to the woods surrounding Castle Faraway and begin building a large funeral pyre to burn him to ash.

Back on Legion World, longtime LMBer and former leader Kid Prime returns to the fold, entering at a moment of intense craziness. Quickly, he leaps into it, attempting to uncover the apparent murder of Faraway Lad. He is able to deduce where they’ve taken him. He is soon joined by Outdoor Miner and a newly repowered Cobalt Kid, who begin piecing together the mystery of the Alt ID/Lurker traitor. Eryk Davis Ester is able to provide the exact location of Castle Faraway, the hardest place in the galaxy to reach.

Kid Prime, Cobalt Kid and Outdoor Miner come to the realization that the traitor has one specific MO: a plethora of unsolved LMB plotlines. These include, but are not limited to: the Lavender K to disrupt the wrestling match of EDE and Cobie, the missing gender-reversal germs, the reasons why the Inquisitor has never been caught, the heavy rumors of a LOMBV, possibly the answer to the ‘Chip in Head’ mystery and the attempted assassination of Faraway Lad at the Senate Forum—the same Faraway who now lies on his death bed! Further, Kid Prime realizes that his ‘unfinished’ term as leader is directly related to the unfinished plotline bandit, as he also has a chip in his head! The three are able to then theorize that most of these plots began in the late summer ten months earlier, which means the traitor has been around since then—or maybe even before!

Reboot explains that these occurred around the same time that he switched from Sanity or Madness? to Reboot and Kid Prime proposes the theory that if Reboot is the Sanity side of SoM?, then the Madness side may partially be to blame. This theory holds some water among the detectives.

Speculation begins to increase to the identity of the traitor, as Kent Shakespeare suspects Kid Prime, Kid Prime admits that Yellow Kid and the PC Gang are suspects and Reboot and Cobalt Kid maintain a mutual mistrust of one another. The current state of mind of Dark Viviane only serves to heighten this. Suddenly, the animosity of the past couple of months, including the factions that were at each other’s throats during the talk of leadership, once more resurfaces and the LMB begins diving itself.

Kid Prime, Cobalt Kid and Outdoor Miner travel to Castle Faraway via the help of Princess Crujectra and the coordinates provided by Eryk Davis Ester. Kent Shakespeare secretly comes along, believing Kid Prime to be a possible traitor within their ranks.

The Royal Inquisitor once more makes a bold threat against Café Cramer. Princess Crujectra sends a squadron of Psyonian Guards to help guard the Café, seeing as the LMB is spread so thin. Matlock, waiting for the Inquisitor now for some time, sees this as an opportunity to station the guards at Café Cramer and take The Untamed Streets of Legion World, in search of the Inquisitor. There, he is joined by Arachne, recently returned to Legion World and the Office of Security after being away on a mission.

The assault continues on Viviane’s island, as Hrun, Space Tart, Gay Green Giant, Yellow Kid and others search for the Avalonians. However, they cannot locate them. The Red Bee exits and journeys back to join the others.

At Castle Faraway, Cobalt Kid discovers more clues to the identity of the traitor, including a boot print and the notion that the traitor is the one that helped convince the Varangian Guard that Faraway Lad was dead. Outdoor Miner and Kid Prime stage a rescue of Faraway Lad’s body and head back to the Security Office, where Outdoor Miner then has Jailbait Lass seal him off so he can examine the body to see if it is the real Faraway Lad or boobie trapped. Cobalt Kid sets up a tesseract with Stoopid Cat’s technology in case they need to return.

Kid Prime returns to ‘Kid Prime’s Room’ to solve the mystery, and he is joined by Cobalt Kid, as the two begin putting together the clues. He renames his room " Kid Prime's Mystery Solving Room "

Dr. One, Dedman and others prepare to save Faraway if they can get him to Medicus One quick enough.

Kid Prime makes a public plea to hand back the mantle of leader to him, as he is the rightfully elected leader. Showing that he had a chip in his head, which caused him to leave, he thanks Yellow Kid for stepping in and now asks for a chance to redeem himself and show how he can be a true leader. He makes mention that once the crisis is past; they will have new elections and a new leadership.

Kent Shakespeare announces to Legion World to fear Kid Prime, creating mass hysteria. Lucien Lad, returning to Legion World, Kid Vudoo, Dedman and Dr. Mayavale speculate.

Part VII: Revelations and Showdowns
Eryk Davis Ester comes across secret information through the grapevine of his hippie army on Greg Evigan Island, regarding the LMB traitor. He rushes to Legion World to tell his comrades.

Matlock explores the streets of Legion World and calls out the Royal Inquisitor. Finally, the Inquisitor answers, and the two have the showdown that has been brewing for some time. After a tumultuous battle, both appear to be at even strength, even with the addition of Calamity Monkey to the battle, who joins Matlock. Finally, Matlock uses some quick thinking and resourcefulness, as he pulls out a ring made of Lavender Kryptonite, which he had created months earlier from the lavender kryptonite sample the Security Office recovered, and uses it to deflect the Inquisitor’s Omega beam. Shortly after, the Inquisitor falls and Matlock drags him off to the prison at the Security Office.

Cobalt Kid has the Security Office sealed off, so the Inquisitor is kept below in the bunkers. However, the radiation being emitted by the Royal Inquisitor after his battle with Matlock is disturbing Outdoor Miner’s experiments with Faraway Lad. Seeing it as their best option, Outdoor Miner seals off the room where Faraway Lad is and shuts it, until a better cure can be found to help him. Cobalt Kid sends the entire Security Staff home except high ranking officers and his intern, Jailbait Lass.

At this point, the forces of Avalon are nowhere to be found, disappearing quite suddenly. The LMB realize this can only bode ill, and the assault team on Avalon, begins preparing to evacuate. Yellow Kid’s team of LMBers returns to Legion World proper.

The struggle for the LMB leadership continues, as Kid Prime and Yellow Kid maintain their claims to it. Quislet, Esq., as Chief Magistrate on Legion World, is asked to step in by many and help resolve it. The growing chaos on Legion World is only heightened by this.

Eryk Davis Ester arrives on Legion World, and joins Cobalt Kid at Kid Prime’s Mystery Solving Room. He says he has new information on the traitor, but by this time, Cobalt Kid has cracked the case. He is about to reveal the identity, when suddenly, both he and EDE are shot through the back!!.

The Red Bee emerges from the shadows, after shooting both LMBers. With an evil grin, he declares he is no longer hiding his true self , and that he has been working against the LMB for well over a year, infiltrating them, and waiting to betray them. His goals appear to be simple and deadly: to forever break their trust among each other, to spread outright terror on Legion World and its innocents and to make sure the LMB always remember him as one of their greatest enemies.

Year Six: The De Facto Yellow Kid & Harbinger Term
Part IV: The Good, the Dark and the Dead (conclusion)

Part VIII: The One Who Betrayed Them All
Cobalt Kid and Eryk Davis Ester lie dying on the floor, as the Red Bee exposes himself as the traitor. He chloroforms Jailbait Lass and kidnaps her, fleeing in the night. His greatest power appears to be that he is undetectable.

Kid Prime enters and is horrified at his findings, as his two friends lie in pain. Jinx and Calamity Monkey enter the scene, snuggling against their dying master, Eryk Davis Ester, hissing and shrieking away at the terror.

The Red Bee invades Medicus One and destroys all of the equipment inside, so that it can never be used to revitalize Faraway Lad, once he is brought back.

The Red Bee takes the kidnapped Jailbait Lass to a cemetery outside of town. There, he digs up a grave under the gravestone “Paula Schultz”, and puts Jailbait Lass inside a wooden coffin, hammering it shut, and then hurls her inside. He then proceeds to bury her alive, to spread terror among the LMB.

The LMB react to the growing terror in shock. Kent Shakespeare, Yellow Kid and Varalent arrive upon the scene, as Kid Prime brings Cobalt Kid and Eryk Davis Ester immediately to Medicus Two, in a secret location, to ensure they get healthy.

The Red Bee assaults Vee’s Variable Villa while he is away, using the fact that the Varangian Guard are no longer there to his advantage, as he kills all the remaining staff that he can find.

Lucien Lad is able to take it no longer and dons his fabulous warfare attire, and mounts his horse, charging into Legion World and attacking any characters he deems suspicious. He notices what looks to be the Red Bee burying Jailbait Lass alive.

The question of who the true leader is continues throughout this, as this issue increasingly tears the LMB apart during this time of immense crisis. Kid Prime and Yellow Kid offer their own reasons why they should be leader and others way in. Yellow Kid calls back Gay Green Giant from the Assault on Avalon, for assistance.

Jinx leaves EDE’s side and journeys to the cemetery, and begins clawing away at Jailbait Lass’s grave. Cobalt Kid, terribly injured, follows her, and sees what has happened. He starts trying to help dig up the grave.

Lucien Lad charges through Legion World whacking all in his way. He eventually begins to use porcupines to sting his way through, using the chaos to draw out any enemies. Kid Prime and some others try to calm him down and stop him, but are unable to. However, he tells them of the Red Bee and the grave.

Kid Prime, Varalent, Yellow Kid and Kent Shakespeare join Cobalt Kid and Jinx and through team-work, are able to rescue Jailbait Lass, who was on the verge of suffocating. Many note that this team work should serve as an example of what’s needed. Cobalt Kid holds the poor young intern, who is in terrible shock, cursing the Red Bee. He brings her to Medicus Two, where she can rest.

At Medicus Two, Kid Prime yells at his good friend Cobalt for leaving his bedside and reopening his wounds. Varalent then uses his power to shrink Cobalt’s wounds, returning him to normal help.

The Red Bee assaults the streets of Legion World, previously tamed by Matlock after he brought in the Royal Inquisitor. A group of children, believing it to be safe, are horribly assaulted by the Red Bee’s swarm.

Kent Shakespeare realizes that destroying some of the hives is the only way to beat the Bee, so he begins blow torching any he can find. He then realizes the massive amount that is around Legion World at this point. Further, he attempts a maneuver with a bus to trap the Red Bee, as well as various other plans which prove unsuccessful.

The Red Bee, seeing the effectiveness of Lucien Lad’s chaos, does a personal attack on Lucien Lad’s property, destroying his statue of Dolly Parton. This act of terror enrages the LMB further.

Outdoor Miner and Matlock join the LMB at large, and are subsequently shocked to learn that the Red Bee, who seemed so heroic, is their true enemy.

The LMB wait for the next strike from the Red Bee and begin a Legion World wide search for him.

Part IX: The Turning of the Tide
Disaster Boy wakes up in his Black Room to find himself immersed in a personnel spiritual journey. He wonders how his friends are, and then proceeds to investigate what is happening to him.

The Emerald Empress, Fat Cramer, Dedman and others join the LMB, who continue searching for the Red Bee.

Kid Prime and Yellow kid continue to battle over who controls the LMB. Many choose sides over this and the debate rages between Gay Green Giant, Kent, Eryk, Cobalt, Reboot, Lucien Lad, Kid Vudoo, Outdoor Miner, citizens of Legion World such as Brainiac 5, and a whole host of others. Cobalt Kid offers the solution that if both declare the other deputy leader and both accept, this would make them co-leaders by proxy and they could finish out the crisis in that manner. Upon seeing Yellow Kid think of this solution as intelligent, Outdoor Miner subsequently believes hell might have frozen over.

A full wide Code Red security alert is sent out among the LMB and Legion World. This is the second one ever on Legion World and it the first since the Dark Stu Saga to ever be used. Cobalt Kid closes the Security Office, and only Outdoor Miner knows where Faraway Lad may be.

Using his triumvirate army at emergency speed, Cobalt Kid has the prison planet Takron-Galtos begins begin its construction in orbit around Legion World, so it can house the prisoners amassed during this crisis.

The Red Bee continues a series of attacks throughout Legion World, attacking innocent citizens and those the LMBP cares about.

Days continue to pass, and the tension mounts. Finally, Yellow Kid and Kid Prime sit down and agree to work things out. Adopting Cobalt Kid’s plan, both become co-leaders for the remainder of the crisis, and begin to straighten out problems among the LMB. With this issue settling, a renewed sense of confidence is instilled in the LMBP.

The Avalonians begin waging a private war outside of Legion World, as the Sorceress Morgause reveals that she turned all of Legion World against the three mages by controlling Viviane and then attempting to gain favor with them so she could take Viviane’s place as Pizzazz once did. After a brutal battle, High Priestess Viviane is restored to her former self, and she, Morgaine and Igraine return to Legion World.

Rumors of a secret potion begin to circulate around Legion World, and this is believed to be a possible cure for Faraway Lad. Kent Shakespeare, Cobalt Kid and others search for the herbs and potions, to learn that Poverty Lad has found a technique that can blend them together into one cure. Poverty Lad creates “Pov’s Pint”, which he is then able to use on the dying Faraway Lad—finally restoring him! Faraway Lad rejoins Gigglebot Girl and the rest of the LMBP, but now he must retake a sip of Pov's Pint continually, less he fall back into the deep coma he was once in.

Note for the draft – I actually own a beer with this label, given to me by Pov and Faraway themselves! Such was the awesomeness of this saga, it actually crossed over into real life, as Faraway supplied Kent, Pov and myself with Pov’s pints, while Legion World held their breath! [Big Grin]

With Faraway Lad cured, High Priestess Viviane back among the LMBP and the leadership quarrel solved, the final stage begins to be set for the showdown with the Red Bee. The LMBP begin gathering anew, united once more, to decide what to do next.

Part X: Endgame
A restored Faraway Lad and a normal High Priestess Viviane rejoin the newly reunited LMB, under the co-leadership of Yellow Kid and Kid Prime. The Search for the Red Bee begins en masse.

Disaster Boy begins to question who his parents are, as he learns that he is the child of two LMBers from the future (possibly an alternate future that may not yet come to pass). He suspects Eryk Davis Ester, High Priestess Viviane, Cobalt Kid and others, but is unsure.

The Red Bee, however, continues to use cowardly subversive attacks, acting as a terrorist to spread fear throughout Legion World, as those most cared about by the LMBP suffer.

Princess Crujectra senses something wrong in the Embassy, when it is suddenly attacked by an army of red bees, carrying small explosive devices on them. She summons Cobalt Kid through their shared mental link, and he joins her, her brother Crusader and Maxx (who were both visiting since Cobalt and Viv’s wedding). Suddenly, the bees bombs are activated and the Royal Psyonian Embassy explodes.

Just in time, with seconds to spare, Faraway Lad is able to summon the four heroes to his secret hideout inside Horace, the Super Moby Dick of Space. He then attempts to send the LMBers back to Legion World, although there being so many of them, his powers are unable to focus entirely and each one is sent somewhere else.

Back on Legion World, the bee army of the Red Bee continues to attack, hammering away at High Priestess Viviane and Invisible Brainiac outside the ruins of the Psyonian Embassy. Hrun the Barbarian attempts a rescue and Viviane teleports them all to Avalon, where the bees follow.

Princess Crujectra appears at ‘Crazy Lugiama’s Discount Fashion Shoppe’, a place where the clothing is very ‘different’ than what she is used to. After a funny exchange, she emerges in slightly altered attire and rushes back to the Psyonian Embassy, where she is joined by Outdoor Miner and Disaster Boy, who enter the fray.

Cobalt Kid appears at the The Giant Statue of Large Handsome, Middlefinger II (from the LMB’s year two). Previously, this had been Middlefinger’s secret HQ, but the LMB confiscated it as part of their battle trophies, and had moved it to Legion World when the move was made, only to have it end up in the jungles of Legion World. The statue was now the home of a lost tribe of gigantic talking gorillas, who lived in the Legion World jungles, as they attack Cobalt Kid! After a quick battle, Cobalt is adopted as an honorary member of their tribe, and returns to the Security Office. He is joined by Matlock and Eryk Davis Ester, and they begin trying to get everyone to rally together. EDE leaves to enact a secret plan, while Matlock prepares for the coming battle.

Faraway Lad appears in hellish tunnels that suddenly lead him to the ‘Disco of the Damned’, a hellish place where disco music and evil mix! Dedman suddenly appears to join him, and the two fight the urge to dress in Disco-ensemble and dance. What appears to be the surviving members of the LMB Experience from 1,000 years ago, Roller Queen and Acid Lad, emerges, as the two beings help Dedman and Faraway Lad find their way back to Legion World.

Crusader and Maxx reappear on Legion World, where they are joined by Igraine and Morgaine, of Avalon. They continue to try and push the bees away, but to no avail. Spellbinder receives a telepathic call from Cobalt Kid to rally at the Security Office, and she extends the message telepathically, as all available LMBers meet there.

The Red Bee even threatens to post the ‘The Only Pic They Ever Feared’ in an attempt to lure the Legion World Founders into a trap, but Eryk Davis Ester sees through this. Lightning Lad, however, is irked enough to stand ready.

The heroes rally at the Security Office as the bees attack: Spellbinder, Matlock, Hrun the Barbarian, Invisible Brainiac, High Priestess Viviane, Cobalt Kid, Igraine, Dedman, Faraway Lad, Morgaine of the Faires, Crusader, Maxx, Disaster Boy and Outdoor Miner. Suddenly: The Red Bee attacks!!

The battle with the Red Bee begins, as the bee hammers them with literally MILLIONS of bees! The Sorceress Morgause takes this opportunity to go on a killing spree, causing High Priestess Viviane to leave the battle and battle her. During this time, former LMBer KinetizZoeGreen is murdered by Morgause. Finally, Morgause returns to tip her hat to the Red Bee, but before she leaves, she reveals that it is she, who is Disaster Boy’s mother!

The Red Bee begins taking apart the LMBP one by one with his bees. Hrun leaps at him with the remnants of Cobalt’s pretzel maker and Matlock’s coffee pot, only to be sent away. Matlock suddenly leaps to his rescue, revealing to Cobalt Kid that he has more powers than he ever let on, as a purple energy begins to emerge from him, and he appears younger before their very eyes. Then he drops a bombshell: it is he, that is Hrun’s father.

The Red Bee now joins the fray personally, as he battles Disaster Boy and others. He reveals another power: that of sickly, honey ooze that drips off his hands, creating an immense pain like none other, that of 1,000 bee stings and bullets. He uses this on Disaster Boy, Cobalt Kid and Outdoor Miner, while Igraine, Faraway Lad and Invisible Brianiac are attacked from all sides. He turns to the Princess to make her suffer the most.

Reboot suddenly appears, attempting to save Spellbinder and Invisible Brainiac, the two main targets from harm. The Red Bee is surprised and the two exchange words, the Red Bee taunting him that he can’t save them all. Then, the Red Bee grabs Cobalt Kid and threatens to kill him, waiting to see if Reboot will save a LMBer he clearly does not like. Reboot responds by turning Cobalt once more into a Giant Amoeba, like he was in the Dark Stu Saga, on top of the Red Bee, crushing the villain. This sets off protocols created by Dr. One for such an emergency, as a satellite around Legion World fires at Cobalt turning him back. This change, however, took away Cobalt’s pain and woke him up, causing him to contact the Princess through their mental link, as she contacts Faraway and focuses his powers for him. Faraway, in turn, suddenly teleports The Red Bee and all the LMBP present, including Spellbinder and Invisible Brainiac to EDE’s Greg Evigan Island, as part of the plan. Eryk Davis Ester and Calamity Monkey arrive on the scene.

On Legion World, a bezerker rage induced Hrun goes on a rampage battling Matlock, who he does not realize is his father, through Café Cramer and the untamed Streets of Legion World. Finally, the two falls into the rubble around them, and it is unclear who will emerge.

The LMBP and the Red Bee arrives on Greg Evigan Island and the battle begins anew! Reboot, remembering the Red Bee's taunts, has Viviane, Disaster Boy and Cobalt Kid pour their energy into him, as he unleashes a force to kill all of the bees on Legion World. Meanwhile, Igraine and Morgaine use their spells to make the bees disappear, so that Legion World is finally safe.

The Red Bee continues his assault on an exhausted LMBP, and they begin to falter, as he somehow is able to summon a small amount of more red bees to help him. Finally, as the Red Bee makes one last ditch attempt to destroy Spellbinder, where he is he stopped by a sacrificial Calamity Monkey, who is in turn healed by Cobalt Kid. Matlock and Hrun rejoin them, as Matlock uses his power on the Red bee.

Finally, the battle ends, as EDE shows the Bee how he has no connection to a mass of gigantic bees flying above him. As an elephant sized bee named buzz flies next to EDE, the Calamity one reveals that Greg Evigan Island’s Cotton Fields (one of the seven wonders) directly creates gigantic bees that cannot be mind-controlled. These bees attack the red bees, as well as the Red Bee himself. The LMBers leap into the fray, and battle him too. At last, the Red Bee falls.

Part XI: Epilogues
Picking up the Pieces – The LMBP enjoy a nice drink together, to finally relax and enjoy the victory. As exhaustion and a realization of how long they fought kicks in, they wonder if the Red Bee was working for someone and what his true motivations were. They decide a thorough questioning of the Red Bee is in order. From this day forth, the Red Bee holds a place of terror in the LMB and Legion World’s hearts, which was his goal all along. Although some LMBers have had moments of weakness and evil, only one has ever truly betrayed them: The Red Bee.

Takron-Galtos – With the capture of the Royal Inquisitor, Cobalt Kid and Princess Crujectra had begun building Legion World’s Takron-Galtos, it’s own prison planet, to orbit Legion World, so the LMBP could keep a watchful eye on them. It is completed, filled with a staff handpicked by Kid Prime and Yellow Kid, and its first two inhabitants are submitted: The Red Bee, Legion World’s first true and most terrible terrorist, and the Royal Inquisitor, a murder and psycho. Eryk Davis Ester also visits, reminding the staff that the next step is helping them rid themselves of their criminal ways, and join the path of his army on Greg Evigan Island.

Annulment - In light of recent events, including Cobalt’s wedding to Viviane and Cobalt’s dedication to the Security Office coming before all else, Space Tart files for an annulment, which Cobalt signs. Neither, it seems, was destined for married life at this point, and Space Tart looks ahead to find herself once more. Space Tart removes herself from active status in the LMB.

Leadership – the question of leadership, which had been so prevalent through the LMB’s seventh year, now comes to a close as the co-leaders of Yellow Kid and Kid Prime discuss what is next. Both decide to allow their leadership to formally expire, so that there is no LMB leader. While this topic remains an important and hotly debated one for the LMB, the decide to continue leaderless for a time and see how that works out.

New members – with the close of “The Good, the Dark and the Dead”, Disaster Boy joins the active roster of the LMB, while Gay Green Giant returns to the Primary Color Gang. Calamity Monkey, who had remained quiet since appearing, decides to remain on Greg Evigan Island, though its obvious this decision was a tough one for him. The LMB’s roster is re-filled as many missing LMBers returned to the active roster, such as Space Ranger, Emerald Empress, Pagan Lass, Hrun the Barbarian, Kid Prime, and many others. LMB allies are laid to rest, such as Big Blue Mutha, and former LMBer KinetixZoeGreen is given a proper funeral.

Year Six: The De Facto Yellow Kid & Harbinger Term
Part V: The Good, the Dark and the Dead – Real History

The continuity history aspect of the saga entitled ‘The Good, the Dark and the Dead’ consumes most of the middle chapters of this portion of the history. However, the real history of the event is equally as important and central to LMB lore and the history of Legion World. Beginning around March 2005, the Mission Monitor Board saw the beginnings of the Good, the Dark and the Dead Saga, which started off with an initial bang, but then gradually built up from there. An amazing three and a half months later, circa July 1st, 2005, the saga would come to its conclusion, after being the major event, storyline and ongoing theme of the Mission Monitor Board section of Legion World during that time frame.

The saga itself is multi-layered, and focused on a wide array of LMBers and storylines. More interesting is that it became a useful tool to explain away all the dangling plot threads left over from as far back as the previous summer, as the LMB authors began to see a central interweaving plotline from then until now. The most sterling example of this is that it finally resolved the leadership conundrum of Kid Prime, Yellow Kid, Harbinger and the LMB.

This sense of connecting to dangling plot threads is more than just keeping LMB continuity flowing. There was a genuine sense of re-connecting to past that was becoming less and less recent, after a very real ‘stop’ in the daily flow of posting. Not only had there been a very acute sense of decrease of activity on the MMB, there was also a few events that left posters with a distaste for posting for a time, as they became discouraged over a few incidents that occurred from October to December. “The Good, the Dead and the Dark” then acted as a means of pulling everyone back in and reinvigorating the LMB and the MMB on Legion World, giving it back the sense of endless fun and craziness, and re-creating the sense of enthusiasm. While the GDD Saga raged in the MMB, a whole slew of threads began permeating the MMB once again, as the role-playing activity naturally lead to more non-role-playing activity.

Though any role-playing saga with multiple authors will have its problems (and this one was no exception), the GDD Saga is unique in that it has a very coherent plotline that connects all the way through it, almost despite itself. It not only was able to pull all parts of itself together, as well as the previous ‘disconnect’ of the past few months, but it was able to break the MMB barrier for the first and last time, having its final thread in the Science Police Forum, further heightening the sense of being on a remote location. Surely, that will never happen again.

The moniker “The Good, The Dark and the Dead” was given to the saga by Kent Shakespeare, after I asked what we should call it, when we were about two-thirds through it. It was obvious that it was far different than anyone thought it would be, and the start of the whole thing, the wedding of Cobalt Kid and the High Priestess Viviane, had gone off into some very different directions that ultimately took the story to a much different place than anyone would have thought. Kent’s title is able to encompass the far-reaching aspects of the story, as Faraway Lad lingered on his death-bed for two weeks (while in real life visiting some of his American LMB friends) and ‘Dark Viviane’ was revealed to not be the real villain at all, but a decoy for the first true traitor of the LMB.

At its close, the saga left a revitalized and re-enthused LMB, ready to move forward to a new era, which would be complete with a shot of new blood.

Year Six: The De Facto Yellow Kid & Harbinger Term
Part VI: The Second Anniversary of Legion World

At the close of this period, roughly July 1, 2005, Legion World approached its second anniversary as a message board. Though the LMB itself had been a group since March 12, 2000 and had celebrated their own anniversary many times, one can generally infer the Legion World opening date (July 4, 2003) as the culmination of a variety of issues and trends, as two overlapping communities bonded together to one larger community. All of this had been dealt with in previous sections of this history.

The second anniversary of Legion World, on July 4, 2005 arrived with the usual celebration that would be present for all future anniversaries, and some posters remarked on how far the board had come and what it was like when they began posting, and some others felt nostalgia for those first few weeks. What differentiated this anniversary from the first was naturally the wider array of posters that were actively posting at the time, now drawing on different ‘eras’ of Legion World and the LMB, showing a wide mixture blended into one.

Naturally, time itself had become an ingredient in shaping the population of Legion World and the LMB roster, continually molding its identity, as ‘new’ posters from recent periods like RTVU and Actor Lad became veterans to the board by this time and older posters had come and gone and come back again so that they too sometimes felt ‘new’, as Yellow Kid and Dedman felt in the recent months during this period.

The old feelings of not having an ‘internet home’ were largely gone, and by the second anniversary of Legion World, it was apparent for all that this was a safe-haven to not only discuss the Legion and comic books, but one that also allowed and encouraged the brand of craziness, inanity and ennui that had also characterized the LMB. Legion World was an established entity, and its most active ‘citizens’ felt a fiery pride about it.

Year Seven: The All-New, All-Different LMBP
Part I: Moving Forward Down the Road

Following the saga entitled “The Good, the Dark and the Dead”, a renewed sense of enthusiasm was felt among the LMB, specifically within the realm of daily posting on the Mission Monitor Board. Though posting had continued throughout the previous months, there had been times where certain situations had caused a subsequent lack of enthusiasm, and the all-encompassing roleplay was able to return a sense of fun and excitement to a wide variety of posters, including some new ones, that bridged the disconnect from the summer before. Further, the notion that the Red Bee was behind a series of ‘dangling plot threads’ served as an allegory in the sense that by defeating the Red Bee, the LMB was getting over all of those things and, quite frankly, moving on.

With this renewed sense, the Mission Monitor Board saw a subsequent rise in posting activity. While a good portion of it (most likely most of it) were posts that were not ‘in character’, there was also a balanced sense of furthering the LMB mythos with the daily fun of posting. Further, as the summer months approached, traditionally a time of increased posting in all forums (continuing the cyclical seasonal trend virtually seen in every year of the LMB), activity increased on a variety of levels. Old threads were bumped and new threads started. While many posters increased their frequencies and returned (as seen at the close of the GDD Saga), there was also an increase in the use of Alt IDs once more. This would specifically be seen during an event known as ‘The LMB Constitutional Convention’, would in its very nature encouraged the participation of lurkers, LMBers who had not frequented the MMB as much and Alt IDs (more on that later).

Most striking during this era was that suddenly there was a vital shot in the arm of new blood for Legion World, and in particular to this narrative, the LMB. Though new posters had continued to join-up throughout the last year, this period suddenly saw a whole new wave of posters signing up for Legion World and diving right in. Suddenly there were half a dozen, and then more, posters immersing themselves in all areas of the board, including the MMB where they established their own threads, and even characteristics & back-stories. Perhaps the most apparent influx of new membership since Spring 2004, when membership to Legion World was still garnering dozens of new posters weekly, this new blood gave the entire board, and thus the LMB itself, a new revitalization. Combined with the renewed sense after the GDD Saga, this happened at the perfect time—and the LMB essentially became an “All-New, All-Different LMBP” (of course playing on the ‘All-New, All-Different X-Men of Giant Size X-Men #1, with the new posters substituting for Storm, Wolverine and the rest).

This era, given that there was now no leadership, has been given the starting date of just after the close of the GDD Saga, and the ending date of September 7, 2005, because that too marks a new saga: LMB Infinite Crisis. Though somewhat complicated and a largely LMB-lore driven roleplay, LMB Infinite Crisis marks an interesting historical trend, as it marks the final phase in the transition from previous winter lull to the renewed LMB post-GDD to the all-new blood on Legion World to finally the ‘All-New LMB’, as it gives it one final cleansing. This ‘cleansing’ was able to provide an ending story to many old Alt IDs that marked the very beginnings of Legion World, as well as longtime LMB concepts like the Anti-Moderator, and well as introduce new concepts, provide a backstory for new posters and other characters & alts to shine, and allow long-standing posters to give themselves a new direction. In effect, LMB Infinite Crisis took all the accumulating trends and gave it one final ‘once over’ so that when the LMB emerged from the large event, it would truly be something different than when all of these trends began, months earlier.

Year Seven: The All-New, All-Different LMBP
Part II: Life on Legion World

The Legion Forum
”The Social Consequences…” – At this time on the Legion forum on Legion World, there continued to be the same continuous onslaught of new threads and new insights into old threads. One new trend was the development of a new series of threads entitled ‘the Social Consequences of ___ joining the Legion’, analyzing how the social interactions and bonds would subsequently be altered as a consequence of a new member joining the Legion. Begun by Cobalt Kid, a variety of posters would add their own interpretations to how the consequences of members joining would alter the Legion’s make-up, including (but not limited to): Ultra Jorge, He Who Wanders, Varalent, Tamper Lad, Mystery Lad, Eryk Davis Ester, Korbal, Blue Battler, Sketch Lad, Blockade Boy, Cobalt Kid, Jim Gallagher, Fat Cramer, Lightning Lad, MLLASH and a host of others. They include:

The Mission Monitor Board
The Constitutional Convention – During late August 2005 to early October 2005, the MMB had an event that encouraged widespread participation by active posters, lurkers, alt IDs and even encouraged posters that had not been active in awhile to return. Discussed at length later in this narrative, the LMB Constitution provided grounds for LMBers to get creative about LMB institutions, lore and protocol.

LMB: Infinite Crisis - Throughout September 2004 to the end of October 2004, a major MMB wide event was LMB: Infinite Crisis. This role-playing event was the largest, most epic in scope role-play ever in the history of Legion World or the MMB and encompassed a massive amount of threads, including many tie-ins to longstanding traditional MMB threads. Bringing in a tremendous amount of concepts and characters, it had large impacts on LMB lore. An entire chapter will be devoted to it later in this narrative.

Bits O’ Legionnaire Business
Project Runway – During this era, a major thread that exploded in the Bits forum was Project Runway followed by Project Runway Part 2. Begun by Spellbinder, these threads encouraged an absolute onslaught of LMB-related art, including pin-ups, photo-manips, City of Heroes designs, micros and other artwork of a huge variety of LMBers by a very large variety of LMB artists. This massive amount of artwork, far too large to be catalogued here, included new costumes for LMBers, designs for LMBers that had never had designs before, and entirely new creations that inspired new characters. This onslaught of artwork, appearing in unison with the roleplay events occurring on the MMB, helped inspire and encourage LMB-related activity on that forum as well.

The Titans Forum
Though Titans Month was in September 2004, there were many posters on Legion World who believed an ongoing Titans forum would be a great idea, given the notion that Titans shared an equally as potent online community and shared similar eras popularity and change. Further, because all of the Titans were made honorary Legionnaires in the Titans/Legion crossover that inspired Titans Month, this made sense in a Legion-related way. Thus, after some discussion among the Legion World Founders, Nightcrawler opened up a new forum in September 2005 on Legion World: Teens of the Heroic Age: The Titans.

NOTE TO READERS – as always, if you think I’ve left one out, or can think of something else that can fit under ‘trend on Legion World’ during this time period (or any other), please let me know! I would love to include as many as possible. I really only need from about Summer 2005 going forward (I’ve earlier times covered in the previous timeline)

Year Seven: The All-New, All-Different LMBP
Part III: The New Blood

Note
Given that this reflects both ‘real history’ and ‘in continuity’, there is no need to differentiate between the two. In regards to real history, all of these posters joined up at roughly the same time.

Following “The Good, the Dark and the Dead” Saga, the revitalized LMB used their new enthusiasm to reformat the LMB itself, begin rebuilding Legion World and creating new projects within the city, and generally re-finding its purpose. Interestingly, a cadre of new members began to arrive on Legion World with intentions of joining the LMB. All of them likeable and extremely talented, they were all accepted at roughly the same time, giving a sense that this was a ‘new class’ of LMBers that were active enough to largely define this era.

The actual events and order of how these new members joined will be covered in the anecdotes section.

They were
Caliente – This fiery LMBer arrived on Legion World and immediately impressed the LMB, quickly becoming a member.

Stealth – A well known espionage specialist, Stealth not only impressed the LMB with her abilities, but also with her knowledge and opinions over controversial literature of the age.

Kid Marvel – first appearing as his normal self, JoeBoy, and becoming fast friends with a variety of LMBers, Kid Marvel soon revealed his mighty super-hero side and became a full time LMBer.

Rockhopper Lad – A Pyngwyn Prince well-known in the UP, Rockhopper Lad ventured to Legion World to engage its population as an Ambassador for his people, but quickly showed off his skills in saving the citizens of Legion World. Impressed, the LMB offered him membership and he quickly joined up.

White Raven – Longtime LMB ally White Raven finally became a permanent citizen of Legion World during this time, despite being good friends with many LMBers for years. She immediately placed herself on the active LMB roster.

Continuity Cop – Gina DC, who patrolled the realm of continuity, entered Legion World during this time, knowing in advance that a great stress would be placed on the timelines, space-lines and continuity-lines. Providing not only help to the LMB, she also showed an artistic side among the LMB art-scene.

Frio – the last of the ‘new blood’ to join, Frio journeyed to Legion World to follow her sister Caliente, and joined her as a member of the LMB. Finding her own friends and place in the LMB, she quickly impresses them with her ice-powers and joins the Security Office. However, much of her origin is clouded in mystery.

Other “Members”
Tamper Lad – another personality to enter Legion World at this time is Tamper Lad, whose intellect and savvy show he is quite formidable. However, he makes no attempt to join the LMB and is actually often antagonistic towards many of its members as well as some Legion World institutions. This antagonism would mainly stem form his being an evil genius. Despite this, he becomes fast friends with some LMBers, and his presence on Legion World is thereafter noted in all major public events. A good amount of LMBers attempt to persuade him to join.

Stratum – though not actively engaging in LMB activities, Stratum became another new member to become close with the LMB at this time. Immersed particularly well in the literature of the age, Stratum could often be seen having many discussions with various LMBers and Legion World citizens on any given day.

Luna – Following the events of the GDD, the High Priestess Viviane, still reeling over the havoc that had been caused in her name, largely dissapered for a time, and the being known as Luna seemed to be occupying her place, similar in the way Pizzazz had once done. However, Luna was never accepted as a full-time member of the LMB, as she appeared to have a more sinister side and the LMB remained mistrustful after the GDD saga (and were proven right).

Legion Adventure Man – Another member to join up during this time was Legion Adventure Man, who saw a brief period in LMB active life. Unsure of what the approaching events of Infinite Crisis meant, LAM would often spend much time trying to search for answers.

These new personalities entered Legion World in full-force and quickly immersed themselves in the daily life of the LMB. Immediately, their effect on LMB internal politics and the LMB social scene became apparent.

Year Seven: The All-New, All-Different LMBP
Part IV: Anecdotes during the ‘All-New, All-Different LMBP’ Era

Following “The Good, the Dark and the Dead” Faraway Lad comes to accept the fact that he must continue to sip on ‘Pov’s Pint’ in order to remain alive. Often, he mixes it with various liquors, which leads to one infamous night where Gigglebot Girl catches him literally crawling up the stairs. The story makes circulations among the intergalactic tabloids.

Following the expiration of Kid Prime and Yellow Kid’s terms as Leaders, the LMB decide that for now having no one clear leader is the best route to go. However, this still remains a hot topic among many LMB sects privately.

The Office of Security – With the Security Office once more in shambles, Cobalt Kid once again sets to rebuilding it, this time with Invisible Brainiac doing the majority of the help with him. They over see a series of Security Initiatives:
  • Security Initiative #1 - Using “Chip in Head” technology, Cobalt installs an all-access Security Chip directly into his own head, giving him access to all of Legion World’s technology and communications services (though clarifying mainly for Reboot that he does not have access to view people privately without a warrant). This includes access to Stoopid Cat’s Tesseract system which can be used at any given time and complete access to the LMB database.
  • Security Initiative #2 - Security Biochips shall be placed behind the ears of high ranking Security Officers (worn, not installed directly) acting as communications devices and for tracking purposes.
  • Security Initiative #3 - The Reconstruction of the Office of Security, including Abin Quank's special Pretzel-maker, Matlock's coffee pot and Shark Lad's top floor aquarium office. Invisible Brainiac offers his own protection via erecting a hard-light shield around the building.
  • The Office was further restructured with the addition of Dedman and Disaster Boy to the ranks of Upper-clearance security operatives, in addition to the recently returned Space Ranger and Emerald Empress.
  • One additional surprise was the sudden return of Shark Lad to the fold, as the longtime LMBer and one of the earliest Security Officers became an active LMBer once more.
  • Changes in management – the final initiative saw a restructuring of the Security Office, as Matlock is re-affirmed as co-Deputy Leader of the Security Office with Space Ranger, answerable only to Cobalt Kid (Chief of Security). Both Invisible Brainiac and Arachne are named as Senior Officers for their longtime service, and Arachne gains an additional job (with additional pay) by becoming the Chief of Security’s (Cobalt Kid) bodyguard.

With the de facto leadership of Yellow Kid and Harbinger at a close, a renewed focus is put on trying to get Reboot to rejoin the active roster. Reboot, pleased that the unelected leaders are out of office, agrees to join back up. Quickly following, however, there is an argument over Security Office procedures, particularly the ‘Chip in Head’ technology that causes Reboot to rethink this decision. Despite many differences in opinion, he elects to remain on the active roster, though it is obvious that he is largely a separate entity on many of the LMB’s decisions. The long-standing grudge between himself and Cobalt Kid, largely over security and triumvirate matters, continues. However, now that things have slowed down, the possibility of finally bringing that gap becomes increasingly something that Cobalt Kid considers, largely via the influence of Princess Crujectra, whom he spends an increased amount of time with. Though their past over the last year has been erratic, Reboot recalls that the two worked together to destroy the mad cobalt cones, and insists that reform to the Office of Security is largely what drives the wedge between the two.

Subsequent to their being no clear leader, there is a bit of chaos among the LMB. Many look to traditional leaders, such as Princess Crujectra for support, while others look to the Chief of Security (Cobalt Kid) and his top advisors (Abin Quank and Matlock). Some look to other places or take matters into their own hands. Following the once-referred to old clause, the traditional LMB founders take a more active role in leading the group by proxy, whether its desired by the membership at large or not (and indeed, some did not desire this). Therefore, an almost de facto faction of Lash Lad, Cobalt Kid and Spellbinder emerge as a non-official leadership, since Mystery Lad remained largely a reserve member with his own studies as his main focus, and Lard Lad and Shadowplay in Candlelight Lass remained inactive members.

An air of mistrust surrounds the High Priestess Viviane and Avalon following the recent troubles with them, causing the High Priestess to decide Avalonians should leave Legion World along with the Holy Isle of Avalon. During the process of their departure, a new woman, Darcy, entered Legion World and quickly becomes an enemy trying to create a school of magic that was a center point for controlling the universe. Viviane’s final act before leaving, in order to make amends for the Avalonian role in the GDD Saga is to destroy Darcy. Leaving for good, Avalon sends the Weird Sisters, led by Luna, to Legion World in their place. Luna quickly becomes immersed in LMB life, though there is still an air of mistrust. She does not take the High Priestess Viviane’s place in the Security Office or the LMB roster.

Spellbinder opens LMBP Plaza to house the administrative tower of the LMB, as well as MacNeil Grove (formerly the ‘Hall of Fallen Heroes’), the MedLab, Hangar Bay, and LMB Academy. This takes the place of the tradition of LMB leaders forming their own HQ, as this now stands as the permanent headquarters on Legion World for the LMB. Also, two halls, Levitz Hall and Swan Hall, act as new housing for the infamous super-hero team. Crujectra quickly moves into the penthouse and Cobalt Kid moves into the other atop of Levitz Hall. Numf-El, Kid Vudoo, Disaster Boy and Arachne follow suit, and more LMBers begin to move in thereafter.

Faraway Lad offers a protective Praetorian Guard as extra security for LMBP Plaza, which is gladly accepted.

Sensing the vacuum of leadership can allow them to entertain their whims and thereby using the newly reinforced sense that the LMB founders have more say over LMB policy, Lash Lad and Cobalt Kid decide to make March “Lash Month” and April “Cobalt Month’. During “Cobalt Month” Cobalt Kid hosts a cotillion, on Lash’s suggestion, leads to many sexual misunderstandings and drunken passion among the LMB. Notably, Thora gets very intoxicated.

During a routine scan of the Security Office, Invisible Brainiac falls into Shark Lad’s tank and the ferocious LMBer almost devours him alive.

Longtime member of the community He Who Wanders returns to a pleasantly surprised LMBP, and resumes his active membership.

Mattropolis, formerly known as Danny Blaine, returns to Legion World as a full-time LMBer for a time.

Tamper Lad arrives on Legion World. Upon meeting various LMBers, opinions differ on him, including many who like him and equally many who question his intentions, since it is obvious he is an evil genius. He becomes antagonistic to some of the LMB, though new LMBer Caliente and he seem to form a bond.

Hrun the Barbarian remains on Legion World following the “GD&D Saga”, leading to an increased presence of STDs on Legion World, which causes a brief hysteria. He and Matlock maintain an easy peace, as both adjust to the idea that Matlock is Hrun’s father. Oddly enough, Abin Quank and Pagan Lass appear to have a great deal of knowledge about Hrun’s past.

Around this time, Caliente, Stealth and JoeBoy arrive on Legion World. Caliente and Stealth immediately impress the LMB and become new members. JoeBoy becomes fast friends with new members.

During this time, Cobalt Kid and Spellbinder begin spending more time together than before. Though the two had been intimate and very close before, various members of the LMB begin to wonder if this will be more so, given that Cobalt’s annulment with Space Tart and her exit from Legion World and the LMB, the end to the High Priestess Viviane/Cobalt affair, and Ultra Matt’s decreased activity in the LMB.

Rockhopper Lad arrives on Legion World as an Ambassador for his Pyngwyn people. The first LMBer he comes in contact with is Stealth. As he continues to become greater friends with the LMB, they slowly come to learn his his origin. His pet, a Terran dog known throughout the galaxy as Hyvvie the Wonder Beagle arrived soon after.

The Streets of Legion World are attacked, and Rockhopper Lad comes to the rescue of its citizens, while JoeBoy reveals his powers as Kid Marvel. Stealth and other LMBers convince Rockhopper Lad and Kid Marvel to join the LMB.

White Raven returns to Legion World to be among her longtime allies and for the first time in her career joins the active roster.

Caliente and Actor Lad meet during an LMB mission and quickly begin flirting, causing Actor Lad to ask her out. The two become a quick item and the paparazzi follow it thoroughly in the media. Caliente’s friend Tamper Lad appears displeased by this new development.

Leap Year Lass continues to use the ancient art of anagrams to gain insight into worldly events. Chancing to place ‘Fat Cramer’ though the method, she produces ‘Cat Framer’, causing Fat Cramer to be aware of a plot to discredit all felines. Fat Cramer, Jinx, Stoopid Cat and Queen Connie are able to put a stop to this beforehand.

Polar Boy continues to enjoy a specific spot on Legion World that emanates a horrid stench, aptly named the “I Farted Thread”. Not surprisingly, it becomes an LMB tradition to send new members there without their knowledge before hand.

Nearly a year later after is first citing, a new group of posters begins a watch for Grendel, the most notorious of lurkers. Not surprisingly, this watch is led by Eryk Davis Ester, a certified authority on Grendel, as well as other onlookers from years past, including Lash Lad, Kid Vudoo, Kent Shakespeare, Cobalt Kid and Outdoor Miner.

New $3.00 bills are created as currency on Legion World with LMBer Lil’ Rhino on them. They are often exchanged for quick pats on the behind.

The Red Bee, imprisoned for his crimes during the ‘GD&D Saga’, continues to write letters to Legion World, mocking various LMBers.

Sensing that there is a great stress on the timeline, Gina DC, known among various worlds as Continuity Cop comes to Legion World to investigate. The LMB sense that her presence will be helpful and induct her into their ranks.

Eryk Davis Ester opens up his ‘Cotton Shop’, using the cotton fields of Greg Evignan Island, which were so important in the defeat of the Red Bee.

Caliente’s best friend, Frio, who is like a sister to her, journeys to Legion World in search of her sister. Caliente is delighted to see her, while other males Legionnaires are equally as glad. After a brief interlude with Luna, which opens up the mystery of Frio’s origin but also shows off her ice-powers, the LMB induct Frio within their ranks. Frio gets to know other LMBers, particularly interested in Actor Lad and Tamper Lad.

Jailbait Lass helps Matlock, Invisible Brainiac and Arachne solve a case involving the Retros that extends beyond the Office of Security and into the LMB at large and gets a costume and is awarded an Honorary Membership to the LMB. Many LMBers from the Office of Security see this as a long-time coming. She still acts as Cobalt Kid’s personal intern for his various positions and businesses (Security Office, Triumvirate, Real Estate Offices, etc.).

Thora and Dr. Mayavale remain an active part of everyday Legion World life. Rumors circulate of certain LMBers wanting to have them added to the active roster. Thora retains a high amount of supporters among the LMB, such as Leap Year Lass, while Dr. Mayavale appears to become an advisor to Cobalt Kid, following the help he provided him during the GDD Saga.

Lash Lad creates the hit phrase ‘Totally Tits’, which becomes immensely popular during this era in Legion World culture.

The Ghost of Numf-El remains an active part of Legion World, although he remains a ghost throughout. Rather than be worried about their friend, the LMB assume that somehow he’ll get to normal eventually, and Numf enjoys the various things ghosts can do that the living cannot. Sonnie, though believed alive, does not re-appear on Legion World, though the LMB trusts Numf that his sense that Sonnie is alive are correct.

The Legion gains various allies during this time period (note – ‘LMB Allies’ are LW posters that do not normally participate in any LMB activities). They are: RJ Kouroni, Mediocre Boy, Karie, Luca.

SHAKES continues to act as the social center of Legion World, and becomes even more full during this period, as newer LMBers become acquainted with the active membership, as well as various citizens of Legion World. Semi-Transparent Fellow continues to bartend at SHAKES and therefore serves as an unofficial welcoming committee for Legion World, as does Varalent. More often than not, traditional SHAKES regulars Outdoor Miner, Arachne and others are found within enjoying their drinks.

While on Monitor Duty, Kent Shakespeare, Cobalt Kid and Eryk Davis Ester are able to watch a team-up in a different world, as Senior Widebottom, Leap Year Lass of Earth-4 and a pre-Nightwing Dick Grayson of Earth-2 all fight crime together. Obviously a Faraway Lad of one of those must have been present for such a team-up to occur.

Speculation runs rampant over a possible re-hook-up of Thora and Cobalt Kid. Related, Princess Crujectra and Invisible Brainiac are seen canoodling in public.

After many weeks of dating, Caliente surprises Actor Lad and the rest of Legion World, by proposing to her boyfriend. He quickly accepts and the engaged couple becomes the hot-topic of all major Legion World (an UP!) media.

Disaster Boy continues to secretly search for answers in regards to his past and continues to feel that they lie somewhere on Legion, as perhaps, some of the LMB may be his parents. At this time, Luna and the Weird Sisters enter Legion World following the High Priestess Viviane’s defeat of Darcy and the exit of all Avalonians from Legion World. The Arch-nemesis of the Weird Sister, the Banshee, also joins them. Immediately, she senses Disaster Boy’s presence and attempts to find him.

Banshee flies through the skies of Legion World, causing a city-wide panic via her voice. Café Cramer, SHAKES, the LMBP Plaza and the Security Office are all disturbed. At last, she find Disaster Boy , who is prepared to get answers. Banshee claims that she is indeed his mother, and that his is from an alternate future, the child of that future’s Red Bee. However, Disaster Boy doubts if this true, or if this villainous is toying with him. He is not able to learn, however, as a group of LMBers: Cobalt Kid, Space Ranger, Outdoor Miner, Stealth, Lad Boy, Kid Vudoo and Nightcrawler stop her and she flies off, now with fresh thoughts of vengeance on Legion World and the LMB. Disaster Boy is left wondering about who he is, while the LMB meet Luna and the Weird Sister for the first time, and months old suspicions against Avalonian, given the recent history of the GDD Saga, resurface. It is at this time that the Weird Sister Selene first sees Outdoor Miner, and finds herself attracted to him.

With the media so focused on Caliente and Actor Lad’s engagement, plus the recent speculation of a secret Caliente/Tamper Lad romance, rumors swirl through Legion World. Luna, now getting used to her new home, makes a disparaging remark towards Caliente—immediately, the fiery LMBer gets word of this and Luna and Caliente engage in hostilities. Frio immediately comes to her sister’s aid, while Tamper Lad also enters the fray, causing even more media sensation.

Space Ranger, Co-Deputy Leader of the Security Office, immediately investigates, and through his usual ‘hard-nosed means of diplomacy’ serves to enrage all the participants. Through Outdoor Miner, Semi-Transparent Fellow and others attempt to ease into a peaceful solution, as well as Caliente and Luna’s both acceptance that this was a simple misunderstanding, a truce is called.

Feeling that this story will stay interesting, the media outlets of Legion World continue asking high profile LMBers what they think about the supposed Actor Lad/Caliente/Tamper Lad love-triangle. Eryk Davis Ester, in response, gives his famous phrase, ‘It ain't easy being green’.

Queen Connie reports that her bowl of cream has been stolen, only to learn that Jinx’s yarn has been robbed as well. It was soon revealed that this was a prank played by Calamity Monkey.

Umber goes on a full-scale shopping spree and again Cobalt Kid attempts to tell her that he’s her father, and again, she thinks he’s had one too many joints…which he may have.

Year Seven: The All-New, All-Different LMBP
Part IV: Anecdotes during the ‘All-New, All-Different LMBP’ Era (cont’d)

Tamper Lad, now fully in the media spotlight, makes his thoughts on various topics be well-known. Unfortunately, his long-time role as an Evil Genius, while fascinating to some, does not go well with many citizens of Legion World. He proclaims that Legion World should be a dictatorship, and should be renamed www.invertedrocketship.com. When asked about this, Cobalt Kid proclaims “Tamper Lad is an evil genius”, although the media makes this out to be an insult. It is believed that this may have been a cause of friction between the two.

Tamper Lad’s comments, however, cause Space Ranger, forever a believer in pro-active law enforcement, to be an even greater presence in Legion World’s airspace and streets, leading many of the newer LMBers and citizens to wonder if perhaps he’s too rigid an enforcer of the law. Unaware of his long history of protecting Legion World, such as during the Dark Stu Saga, they don’t hold the same trust for him as his closest companions, such as Cobalt Kid and Outdoor Miner, which furthers a budding animosity.

With all of these sentiments building, Luna enters the Office of Security to see where her friend the High Priestess Viviane’s office is. In a moment of pure confusion, Space Ranger mistakes her for his new intern. A back and forth worthy of a screen-writers Oscar then takes place, resulting in an explosion of rage and pure venom. Quickly after, threats of violence begin to take place, and other LMBers find themselves pulled in. Cobalt Kid, who was merely down the hall in his office, is suddenly involved, as Luna threatens to murder him, when he brings up his old ‘relationship’ with Viviane. At some point during this misunderstanding, Luna murders Tamper Lad’s pet physicist chicken, Cluckers Bohr. Caliente, attempting to defend her new friend Luna while at the same time show aggression to Space Ranger who has recently incurred her animosity, also gets involved, which leads to Tamper Lad’s involvement. Tamper Lad subsequently finds himself at odds with Space Ranger, and some degree, Cobalt Kid. However, before any of this can explode, Outdoor Miner enters the fray to calm things down—only for Luna’s sister, Selene, to make her move.

The Almost Wedding of Selene and Outdoor Miner – Literally demanding that Outdoor Miner become her husband, Selene prepares to kidnap him. Seeing this as a perfect opportunity to exploit, Tamper Lad plays on her lack of knowledge of UP customs and ‘sells’ Outdoor Miner to her, saying she has Legion World’s blessing. Selene makes her move and chaos results, as Invisible Brainiac, Cobalt Kid, Caliente, the recently arrived Actor Lad, Arachne and others must put a stop to this. Space Ranger takes this opportunity to hunt for Tamper Lad’s secret undisclosed location, which only furthers their animosity, believing that Outdoor Miner can handle himself. In the end, Luna forces her sisters to leave the Security Office, so that she becomes the only Weird Sister with dealings in the capital city of Legion World.

From here on in, Tamper Lad begins a campaign against the Security Office in the media. Many of his arguments are reminiscent of Reboot’s old arguments of Oligarchy on Legion World by the Triumvirate and the rich-landowning LMBers, which include Cobalt Kid, the Chief of Security. This, in fact, draws Reboot back out, and once more he and Cobalt Kid realize the rift between them and the issues at hand, despite a momentary truce at the close of the GDD saga, which was then disrupted by the Security Initiatives.

More apparent, however, is that this opens up the floodgates for questions on LMB leadership and elections, which still remained a hot-button issue that had recently been quiet. Even more, the host of new members of the LMB and new citizens of Legion World revealed that many LMB traditions, which were generally ‘un-spoken’, given the loss of documents and headquarters during their many crisis over the years, were relatively hard to interpret sense there was no real hard and fast way of learning them. It is at this point, then, that Kid Prime, who had been considering this idea ever since his term as leader began close to a year earlier, began mentioning the possibility of an LMB Constitutional Convention to his closest friends and confidants. At once, many of these, such as Eryk Davis Ester, began to encourage the idea.

Whispers of a possible Constitutional Convention began to move through Legion World, and soon full-out discussions began to take place. Many were strongly supportive of the idea, while some, still shell-shocked over all that had happened in the last year, including many of the bad, found themselves adjusting to it. One example of was that Cobalt Kid approached his friend Dr. Mayavale and the two had a conversation about not only the state of the universe, but the future of the LMB given its recent past, revealing that many longtime LMBers were still adjusting to all that had happened and wondering where they should go. Mayavale’s words were poignant: “It is important to remember what we stand for. For those who stand for nothing will fall for anything.”

At this point forward, many LMBers of times past began making their way back to Legion World, to participate in the Constitutional Convention, such as Harbinger, Icefyre, Super Lad Kid, Stoopid Cat, Kara, Suddenly Seymour, and others. Backroom discussions about LMB policy, including the Legion World armies, the elections, taxes on the Legion World population, an active squad of LMB-Avengers and other topics began to see light.

Thereafter, the Constitutional Convention started. PLEASE NOTE – the Constitutional Convention will be covered in the following section. The remainder of these anecdotes take place as the Constitution was going on simultaneously.

Everyday Girl, a longtime ‘Honorary Member’ of the LMB, journeys to Legion World to join her grandparents, Abin Quank and Pagan Lass, although their connection to her remains a mystery for a brief while. She quickly immerses herself in LW life, and seeks to become an active member of the LMB. While endearing herself to some members, such as Cobalt Kid, she begins to get on the nerves of some others. She becomes fast best friends with Jailbait Lass. Readers note – Everyday Girl had been an established Honorary LMBer since way back in Fall 2003 in the ‘Ongoing LMBP Tag Team Thread’, though she first appeared as an Alt ID, and thus actual LMBer, at this time.

Space Tart stays in touch with her longtime good friends Lash Lad, Lucien Lad, Loser Lad and others and reveals that she has joined a group called the “Super Lesbian League”, unsure of why they wanted to join their ranks so badly.

Phineas B. Fuddle, long missing since the Dark Stu Saga, makes a rear appearance among the LMB, giving them a glimpse into a future they could have had. Unknown tot hem, this is a precursor to the Infinite Crisis, as Phineas takes advantage of the weakening continuity stream to show a more ‘Cutting Edge’ LMB.

A massive Yard Sale of Space takes place on Legion World, causing Caliente, Lash Lad, Leap Year Lass, Quislet Esq., Invisible Brainiac, Disaster Boy, Abin Quank, Fat Cramer, Cobalt Kid and Semi-Transparent Fellow to attend.

Rockhopper Lad opens Rockhopper's Rookery to rave reviews on Legion World, giving them a cool place to get away. It includes ski slopes with Frio as an instructor. Rockhopper Lad soon throws his first annual Summer Holiday Bash.

For all of his past heroism, Eryk Davis Ester receives an aware from the common people of United Planets who love him dearly. At the ceremony, his longtime friend and fellow Triumvir, Cobalt Kid, gives the speech “The Many Heroic Deeds of Eryk Davis Ester”.

Other honorees at Eryk’s reception include Bevruck Jespers, the famous movie star, whom Eryk, Cobalt and others meet for the first time. They are surprised to learn that like Cobalt, both he and Antiquated Forms of Communication Lass, the old LMB ally, are Ggrrggian.

The continued animosity between Space Ranger and Caliente, Tamper Lad and Luna builds. At one point it is revealed that Cobalt Kid has videos of all events that occur within the Tesseract system, and Caliente becomes aware that one of her dates with Actor Lad, in which the two became very intimate, may have been in the Tesseract System, and thus may be on one of Cobalt’s videos. Immediately, Cobalt Kid is associated again with Space Ranger and pulled into the grudge, and Caliente, along with her sister Frio, make their way into the Security Office to demand it. After a big misunderstanding, Cobalt Kid gives Caliente her video back, but not before Frio and Cobalt Kid are pitted against one another. Attempting to work this out in the way he knows best, Cobalt Kid attempts to charm Frio. No wallflower herself, Frio does the same, and the two become romantic within the Security Office.

Frio joins the Security Office thereafter, and the scandal makes the rounds in Legion World.

The biggest scandal of the season hits, however, the following week. Quislet Esq., long considered the center of judicial justice on Legion World, announces that he and the Royal Inquisitor, the murderer who he had been prosecuting for the past months, have actually fallen in love. Surprising Legion World, who generally have an extreme dislike of the Royal Inquisitor to the point of almost hate, he tells them that he’s learned a tremendous amount about the Inquisitor’s past (calling him lovingly ‘Roy’) and that he believes he’s helping heal him. Immediately, many LMBers fear for Quis, believing he may be under control and distrusting the Inquisitor. Indeed, a great deal never forgive him for the murder of Giant Squid during the Dark Stu Saga. However, Quislet soon announces that they are in fact engaged, despite the Inquisitor’s life sentence in Takron-Galtos. Legion Adventure Man, confused to his identity asks just who ‘Roy’ is, and gets this reply.

Meanwhile, during the course of the Constitutional Convention, Tamper Lad’s ideas, inspired by his evil genius persona, continue to meet with disapproval by many LMBers. Also, it is at this point that Cobalt Kid and Reboot begin working in unison on Security Office reform, and Tamper Lad finds himself not included in this discussion (note – all of this will be covered within the next section). With this occurring, Tamper Lad, along with many others, is pushed into a pool in a moment of playful and competitive joking, and he decides he will no longer be a part of these proceedings. Leaving in an uproar, he exits the Constitution and takes to the streets of Legion World to cause trouble.

Tamper Lad returns to his Undisclosed Location and begins making preparations for a full-scale riot and rebellion on Legion World, attempting to pit the lurking class against the prominent citizens, many of whom are in the LMB. Creating his own LMB, which is run by a Senate of the LMB, he announces his new group, entitled ‘SPQL’ (Senate and People of the Legion), a new Security Office ran by Luna, Caliente and a third party named by Kid Prime, and then announces their intentions to riot in the streets. Immediately, he gains a small following, and the riots begin.

At this point, Cobalt Kid issues a warrant for his arrest, causing Caliente to defend Tamper Lad. Frio surprisingly takes Cobalt’s side to Caliente’s shock. Tamper Lad reacts by calling this ‘Cobalt Kid’s continual corruption of the teenage female youth of Legion World via the Security Office’. As the riots grow increasingly alarming, Invisible Brainiac and Space Ranger hunt down Tamper Lad. Matlock takes to the streets and is able to calm the people down, as they are reminded of how he saved them from the Royal Inquisitor months ago, or how the Security Office has protected themover the years. This causes the panic to begin to subside.

During these events and the ongoing Constitutional Convention, Tamper Lad and Caliente finally do have the affair they have been long rumored to have been having. In addition to the mutual attraction they both shared, Actor Lad's continual absences are also a factor.

As the larger riots cease, a smaller group prepares to march on the Security Office itself with Tamper Lad at the lead. Now non-security officer LMBers enter the fray, such as Spellbinder, Crusader, Maxx, Faraway Lad and others, hoping to quell the problem before real trouble starts. Finally, Cobalt Kid arrives and through a series of negotiations between himself, Invisible Brainiac, Faraway Lad and the crowd, a relative peace is created, and the crowd subsides its rabble. Tamper Lad, not discouraged in the slightest, leaves and returns to his undisclosed location for his next plan. Seeing both his brilliance and enthusiasm, its at this point that some of the LMB remark that it might be time to induct him into their membership. From this point forward, friendships with him by Caliente, Rockhopper Lad and others are highly encouraged.

Given Tamper Lad’s behavior and the recent betrayal of the Red Bee, Lucien Lad asks the question of how many LMBers have gone evil or betrayed the LMB in the past. The answer is not pleasant.

Luna, following recent events closely, once more goes to the Security Office to engage Space Ranger in a war of words, seeing him on the news looking for Tamper Lad. While there, she finds his brother, Abin Quank, instead, and the two of them begin debating the Ranger’s methods. Pagan Lass, Abin’s wife, intercedes on his behalf, and an even larger explosion takes place between the two females. As more and more people are pulled into the fray, a side argument breaks out between Pagan Lass and Stoopid Cat, her familiar once the goddess Bast is summoned to end the dispute. In a shocking turn of events, Stoopid Cat abandons Pagan Lass for her stubbornness, but in doing so, accidentally leaves her extremely vulnerable, making his abandonment appear to be an act of extreme betrayal. He immediately disappears.

Actor Lad returns to Legion World determined to win back Caliente, his fiance after her affair with Tamper Lad. Being extremely sweet and romantic, she realizes that he is who she wants to be with and the two are reunited.

Thora of Taltar comes across Tamper Lad in the streets, and its revealed that the two have a history and some animosity. Tamper Lad spent some time on Taltar in his youth to the surprise of many. Tamper Lad is then distressed to see his long-time friend Nova Girl, who is a supporter of Thora, come to Legion World. She quickly establishes herself among Tamper’s evil genius elite much to his dismay. It is here we first learn of Tamper Lad’s ‘boring speech-making power’.

Girls Night Out – while vacationing in the Tropica Zone on Legion World, Shadowplay in Candlelight Lass, Fat Cramer, Arachne and Spellbinder are caught up in a trap filled with armored and armed gorilla gun by a new LMB villain: the Bannata Commando! A former sergeant in the Science Police the Commando manifested the mutant power to communicate with primates, and soon used zoo gorillas to form the Bannato Warriors, his own private guard. After a scuffle the ladies make short work of him. Note – this was a Onevision written by Spellbinder aka Princess Crujectra.

Prelude to Crisis – Cobalt Kid immediately begins searching for Stoopid Cat in the tesseract system, which he traditionally has controlled (note – click on the second link for the story). He finds his old ally, though frozen solid, as if a statue, and is surprised to see Hrun the Barbarian, Stoopid Cat’s one time enemy but now partner, also frozen as a statue. After working to free them, he is again gradually joined by the group most associated with drama during this time: Caliente, Tamper Lad, Frio, Space Ranger, Invisible Brainiac and Luna, who is angry at Caliente for sleeping with Tamper Lad. Finally, Hrun the Barbarian is freed, and he decides to take it upon himself to bring Stoopid Cat out of his funk. Laying traps and bait, he arouses the cat from his frozen sleep and the two battle once again, this time each basking in the glow of battle. As both exit, battling their way through SHAKES, Café Cramer and other Legion World locations (to the chagrin of Fat Cramer, Semi-Transparent Fellow, the Emerald Empress, Matlock and others), they soon rejoin their LMB comrades, but hardly notice the subtle entrance of a series of bug-creatures in the Tesseract system of Legion World, known as Daleks.

Note
Towards the end of these anecdotes events were occurring simultaneously with the Constitutional Convention. Both events would lead into LMB: Infinite Crisis, a long-running and complicated event that will get its own section.

Year Seven: The All-New, All-Different LMBP
Part V: The LMBP Constitutional Convention: Real History

The LMB Constitutional Convention
Summary of LMBP Constitutional Convention - incomplete
August 24, 2005 – September 23, 2005 (further continued in December of 2005, but ultimately cancelled)

Real history
During this time, circa August 2005, there was continued talk of possible leadership elections, as well as other protocols of the LMBP. A lot of this was a natural topic of conversation given the recent influx of new members who were unaware of past LMBP traditions and history, including reasons why certain topics were left by the wayside or purposely avoided. Further, long-standing LMB traditions, some going back well before the foundation of Legion World, continued to be implied rather than outright written, and were often hard for some to decipher, including members of LMB that had been on Legion World for some time. The Office of Security, which had become a beacon of LMB in-character role-playing once more on the MMB also became a hot topic.

All of this coincided with the return of Kid Prime at the close of “the Good, the Dark and the Dead” Saga, which helped these topics percolate, since Kid Prime had long had a few ideas about how to sort out some of the complicated lore and protocol of the LMBP. Thus, he presented the idea of a ‘Constitutional Convention’ to work these things out. The idea immediately garnered serious interest among the active posters of the LMB, and especially interesting, was that it began to draw older posters back to the boards as well as draw out lurkers to participate. Thus, the sudden reappearance of Icefyre, Harbinger, Super Lad Kid and other past LMBers/Legion Worlders can definitely be attributed to the Constitutional Convention.

In the end, the Constitutional Convention was ultimately cancelled, due to some posters feeling that having an LMB constitution was going too far in establishing a status quo and structured guideline. Though many liked the idea, those that did not had equally as relevant points since the LMB had long been a source of anti-establishment sentiment, so a constitution did not seem right. It did, however, accomplish the role of creating a breeding ground of activity on Legion World. The most important thing, however, of the entire Constitutional Convention exercise is that it created a set format for how an election could one day be run, right down to the gritty details. In fact, almost immediately at the start of the convention, posters Eryk Davis Ester and Cobalt Kid purposely set out to create a voting system that could one day restore the elections, and others, seeing that this was there goal, added their own insight. Therefore, although the constitutional convention was largely abolished so that there was no actual constitution, the established guidelines of a voting system were in place. Allowing time for sentiment to shift in favor of restoring the leadership positions, posters who already wished for this could now rest easy in knowing that a firm and efficient system in conducting the elections were in place.

Towards the end of the Constitutional Convention, the blurry lines of ‘in-character’ vs. ‘real people’ continued to intersect and the event led into one larger, more complicated event, known as ‘LMB Infinite Crisis’. With the sudden disappearance of Varalent, the LMB immediately found themselves immersed in the single most all-encompassing LMB event in its history. Therefore, this section will close at the disappearance of Varalent, and immediately lead into LMB Infinite Crisis. Though the constitutional was temporarily put on hold, it was revisited once more at the close of LMB Infinite Crisis, but was subsequently caught up in some posters wanting to start over, thereby eliminating all enthusiasm of those who had previously worked hard on it, and solidifying the sentiment of those that wanted to abolish the entire process to begin with. Therefore, the entire Constitution was relatively cancelled, though much had been accomplished, albeit, now unofficially so.

Year Seven: The All-New, All-Different LMBP
Part VI: The LMBP Constitutional Convention: In Continuity

The LMB Constitutional Convention
Summary of LMBP Constitutional Convention - incomplete
August 24, 2005 – October 23, 2005 (further continued in December of 2005, but ultimately cancelled)

In Continuity
As previously discussed in the anecdotes section, conversations regarding LMBP protocols and institutions became more prevalent among the membership during this time, especially given the recent influx of new members into the LMB and new citizens on Legion World. Topics such as leadership elections and the Office of Security infrastructure, which had been largely abandoned months earlier, once more became points of discussion and more often argument. Seeing this as an opportunity to solidify the structure of the LMBP, which had always been very loose in its nature, Kid Prime suggested the idea of an LMBP Constitutional Convention, encouraging LMBers to argue and debate what the structure of the LMBP should be, so that an official constitution could be available for future use.

Immediately, this generated quite a bit of interest among the LMBP membership at large, as well as the citizens of Legion World. Everyday citizens who were not official members of the LMBP, but lived on Legion World and thus were directly affected by its outcome (such as Tamper Lad and Thora) demanded their inclusion in the discussions. Kid Prime, who was largely seen as the LMBPer in charge of the proceedings (given that there was no longer an official LMB leader and he was the one who created the idea) decided to allow their inclusion in the events, and this was met with applause by the Legion World citizenry and the LMBP active roster. Word also began to spread throughout the entire United Planets, so that the UP government and citizens throughout the galaxies held a keen interest in the events ongoing. LMBPers from all over the galaxies who had long been absent from the active roster began to return to Legion World to take place within the proceedings, and many returned to the active roster for a time. These LMBPers included Harbinger, Super Lad Kid, Icefyre, Kara, Queen Connie, Suddenly Seymour and others.

Moderators
Moderators were chosen to allow events to proceed with order, and they were Kid Prime (who started the proceedings) and Spellbinder (who has long been seen as the unofficial leader of the LMBP).

Official List of Delegates in Attendance
An official list of attendees was created, though often it was slightly in accurate, as citizens of Legion World would attend and other LMBers would show up for a time, only to leave before their attendance could be recorded. This list of delegates in attendance included:
  • Kid Prime, representing Cybertron
  • Thora, representing Taltar
  • Outdoor Miner, representing Outdoor Miner
  • Rockhopper Lad, representing the Pyngwyn Colonies of Planet Hyustyn
  • Disaster Boy, representing the future
  • Fat Cramer, representing Planet Cafe'
  • Phoebe, Selene, and Luna, all representing Avalon and the Third Race
  • Varalent, representing the Variable Realm
  • Cobalt Kid
  • Lucien Lad, representing a tree
  • Kid Vudoo (RTVU2), representing!
  • Joeboy (aka Kid Marvel), representing the class of ‘05
  • Tamper Lad, representing the mad genius caste
  • Eryk Davis Ester, representing huffiness
  • Princess Crujectra (aka Spellbinder), representing Psyonia
  • Quislet Esq., representing the Lullaby League
  • Abin Quank, representing Abin's Official Legion World Janitorial Service
  • Semi Transparent Fellow, representing the small business owners of Legion World
  • Lad Boy
  • Southtown Kid, Legion World citizen
  • Stoopid Cat
  • Space Ranger
  • Minesurfer
  • Legion Adventure Man, representing the adventure era
  • Queen Connie, representing cuteness
  • Loser Lad, probably representing hedonism
  • Caliente, representing the hopeless fangirls

Events occurring simultaneously with the Constitution Convention
Throughout the convention, delegates were encouraged to come and go as they pleased and to be involved in the convention only as much as they wished to be. Thus, there was a constant stream of delegates entering and exiting the convention as debates and arguments were made. Life on Legion World, therefore, continued as it always did, and now even more so with a larger population of LMBers returning on-planet, and more lurkers and every day citizens becoming more actively involved in public politics.

Thus, the incident involving the Tamper Lad riots of the summer of ’05 occurred during the time the Constitutional Convention was taking place, and indeed, were inspired by the convention itself. It became common place for ‘horsing around’ and general mischief (albeit, light-hearted mischief) to take place within the confines of the convention, so that there was commonly such occurrences of people being pushed into the pool and other such nonsense. On more than one occasion Tamper Lad was pushed into the pools, and combined with his outright contempt for the direction the Article on the Office of Security was going in and his general lack of involvement, this led him to begin the riots covered in the previous section. Other events, such as the rescue of Stoopid Cat and trouble at the Security Office, also occurred simultaneously with the convention.

The very beginnings of Infinite Crisis also began to occur in unison with the Constitutional Convention, and ultimately, the first major step towards that event occurred in the convention halls.

As we break up the below analysis by line of reform, there will be references to how these individual debates may have influenced outside events on Legion World at the time.

Statement
The first order of business was drawing up of a statement for the LMBP. Using some thoughts on the LMBP from senior delegates Spellbinder and Cobalt Kid, it was Kid Prime who came up with:

We the Sentients , the heroic misfits of the LMBP, drawn together in our search for a place to share our thoughts and common interests without fear of censure, have come together to celebrate being both "on-topic" and "off -topic," to cherish the friendships we've forged that keep us together, and of course to use our powers and abilities to fight for justice throughout the universe and on our adopted homeworld, Legion World! Being also drawn together by our love of the Legion of Super-Heroes, we take a pro-active stance on involving others in Legion fandom, in doing any tiny little bit it takes to help increase the profile of the current comic book by bringing in new fans and showing them what a cool concept the Legion is--in all forms, thus actively continuing to immerse people in the fun. In all our interactions, we strive to maintain the highest respect and honor for all others and their wondrous, beautiful diversity, for it is diversity that makes our world and universe so immeasurably strange, complex, and beautiful. The LMBP means friendship and doing away with internet formalities, and creating a real community of friends online, which have a common goal of loving the Legion. But it means so much more: the Legion has long ago become a small portion of that. It means being a place to come when you feel like you've got nowhere else to go, to discuss the various things that interest you, and it means you've decided that above all else, its much more important that everyone is having a good time together, in mutual respect, admiration, and love, without fear of censure. All are welcome here, but please play nice. Oh, and we do ordain and establish this Constitution for the Legion Of Message Boards Posters!

LMB Leadership and Elections
This shall be discussed in the next section.

Official LMBP Theme Song
Throughout the convention a balance between serious issues and light-hearted issues was attempted by the moderators to ensure that the spirits of the delegates were kept high. Thus, the topic of LMB Theme Song was broached on many occasions and became a long-standing topic of discussion. Many songs were presented as a possible theme song, and here were the Possible choices:
  • “The Sky is Green” (Tamper Lad)
  • “Magic Carpet Ride” (Space Ranger, LAM)
  • “I’m a little teapot” (Quislet, Cobalt Kid)
  • “Knights of the Round Table” from Holy Grail (Kid Prime)
  • “99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall”
  • “Space Truckin’”
  • “Born to be Wild”
  • “Kung-Fu Fighting”
  • “Girls, Girls, Girls” (Luna)
  • “Always look on the bright side of life" from The Life of Brian (Faraway Lad)
  • Superfreak (Lad Boy)

Tamper Lad’s own song “the Sky is Green”, which was a tribute to his own rise as the dictator of the LMB is notably important, as the rioters in the streets of Legion World were heard to be singing this as they marched towards the convention halls.

Year Seven: The All-New, All-Different LMBP
Part VI: The LMBP Constitutional Convention: In Continuity (cont’d)

The Office of Security Article
For years the Office of Security and its role on Legion World had been a topic of heated debate, with some notable LMBers publicly stating they were enemies of the office, such as Reboot. The role of Cobalt Kid, as the Chief of Security being a position that he held for life and could not be removed from by an LMB leader (or anyone unless he resigned willingly or died), was also hotly contested. Thus, the Office of Security became a topic of debate very quickly during the Constitutional Convention and remained so throughout.

Though there were a wide range of posters that included themselves in the discussion on reforming the Office of Security, it mainly was the work of Cobalt Kid and Reboot that brought progress. Reboot had long been the biggest critic of the Office, since his days as LMB Deputy Leader (Leader for a time via a flaw in the system), and he vehemently explained that the Office needed reform. Cobalt Kid, the founder of the Office and truly the one person that understood and controlled what was happening there, was traditionally against any outside reform. However, given the recent events of “The Good, the Dark and the Dead” Saga, Cobalt Kid and Reboot worked very well together, and Cobalt Kid began to understand that perhaps reforming the office was necessary after all, if it would help keep the citizens of Legion World happy. Thus, Cobalt Kid invited Reboot particularly, correcting assuming that Reboot’s inclusion on reforming the office would offset any citizen’s notion that there wasn’t dissident opinion to Cobalt Kid’s ideas, to reform the Office. Others contributed, but it became largely a two-man reform. Indeed, this lack of other participation on the actual wording partially inspired Tamper Lad’s riots, though it should be noted that Tamper Lad’s evil ideas were so outrageous that they really couldn’t be considered.

Security Office Article
written by Cobalt Kid and Reboot

Goal of Security Officer to Guard Legion World from: external invasions from large forces or singular beings, internal threats from persons in the act of criminal behavior.

Structure
Chief of Security - The Office of Security is headed by Cobalt Kid, the Chief of Security, which is a position he holds for life. It is not an elected position, and he cannot be removed by the LMB leader, the LMB Deputy Leader, or any member of the LMB or Legion World populace. The Chief of Security answers directly to the Security Committee on all matters that are too important for one sentient to decide.

The Dark Stu Clause - This position acts a balance to LMB leader, should the LMB leader act against the LMB, Legion World, the very spirit of the LMB or in a criminal manner at all. Therefore, the LMB Leader has absolutely no official power over the Chief of Security in security matters . However, it is LMB protocol for the Chief of Security to adhere to the rulings of the LMB leader in all other matters, and to defer to the LMB leader’s judgment when there is a crisis on Legion World involving the LMB at large.

Addendum - Outside of Legion World, the Chief of Security has no official power in the chain of command.

Addendum 2 - In case of emergencies, the Chief of Security can act on his own accord without going to the Security Committee to ensure his job is done in a timely matter. He is expected to act within the limits of his job and to not over step his bounds. Examples of when to do this: Royal Inquisitor kills Giant Squid, StuBots attack Legion World, the Red Bee buries someone alive, etc.

Security Staff
1. It is entirely up the Chief of Security to form his staff as he sees fit.

2. Space Ranger shall act as the Deputy Chief of Security, second only to Cobalt Kid, and shall assume his responsibilities as the chain of command dictates.

3. Matlock shall act as the Senior Security Officer, second in rank only to Cobalt Kid and Space Ranger, and shall assume their responsibilities as the chain of command dictates.

4. The Chief of Security may maintain two operatives at all times that remain a secret to Legion World and the LMB at large.

Security Committee
A Security Committee will oversee all major operations of the Office of Security, to ensure that the Chief of Security uses his power wisely and has balances against his control. This would include decisions to arrest and prosecute fellow LMBers and use his Security powers outside of Legion World (re: continue an investigation that leaves the Legion World premises). Further, any Security initiative involving the majority of the active LMB or Legion World population must have committee approval.

Committee Membership
Once on this Committee, these members are on the committee for duration of their own discretion.
  • This is not an elected committee, as election focuses will be on the LMB leader and Deputy Leader.
  • This is not an appointed committee, as the power split between the LMB Leader and the Security Office is a central theme of the Office itself.
  • If a member decides to retire from the Committee, the remaining members shall vote and appoint a new LMB representative.
  • A member of the committee may be replaced if they miss 5 or more Security Committee meetings in a period of 150 days. This is entirely up to the other members of the Security Committee.
  • Any member of this Committee who is elected LMB Leader shall lose their place on the Committee for the duration of their term.
  • The LMBP Deputy Leader is included, which thus creates a connection between the LMB leadership and the office of security. Thus, all the above criteria do not apply to the LMB Deputy Leader here.

This committee shall include the three ranking Security Officers, with the Chief of Security as Chair. It includes:
Cobalt Kid, Chairman, position held for life
Space Ranger
Matlock
Reboot
Lightning Lad (or another Legion World Founder)
The Current LMBP Deputy Leader
Emergency Alternates: Invisible Brainiac and Fat Cramer.
note- Cobalt Kid, as Chairman only votes when there is need for a tie-breaker

Rationale First, Reboot and Cobalt Kid’s opinions differ so greatly, and have done so publicly for so long, that there is no doubt that both can serve to temper the others extreme positions. Reboot’s involvement lends credibility to any large security initiatives. Lightning Lad, as a founder of Legion World, brings another important perspective to Security matters occurring there. The LMBP Deputy Leader ensures a strong relationship with the LMBP Leadership.

Psyonia Protocols
Basically, if the Security Chief and/or Security Office are deemed to be unable to perform their duties (i.e. - gone insane and stuff), Crujectra and Mykel of Psyonia (the LMBers known as Spellbinder and Crusader) will use their touchstones to channel the psionic might of the planet Psyonia (as seen in the Shadowspell OneVision ) and telepathically subdue Cobalt Kid and any member of the Security Staff seemed dangerous or incapable of performing their sworn duties. this section written by Princess Crujectra

Chip in Head Technology
As an aside, Reboot and Cobalt Kid have come to a formal understanding. The ‘Chip in Head’ technology, created by the Royal Inquisitor and the Red Bee, but recently has been confiscated by the Office of Security for other uses. This agreement states that all ‘Chip in Head’ technology is to be destroyed and the Office of Security shall no longer use it to monitor potential enemies of Legion World and the LMB. This will help further the cause of a mutually agreeable Cobalt Kid/Reboot alliance in helping reshape the Office of Security.

Other LMB Business discussed
  • LMB Judicial system – This became a topic of discussion for a time. Traditionally, the LMB Judicial System has been run by (1) the LMBP Leader and Deputy Leader or (2) the LMBP Founders or (3) Quislet, Esq., the chief LMB magistrate on Legion World. However, no conclusive solution was given before the abolishment of the convention. Note, that this refers to the LMB Judicial System, not Legion World’s Judicial System.
  • LMB Oath of Allegiance – One of the most controversial topics was the LMB Oath of Allegiance, which caused some LMBers to infer that the constitutional convention had gone to far in demanding things from the membership. This was the main evidence the faction against the constitution used to encourage the abolishment of the convention.
  • Punishment of Traitors and subversive criminals on Legion World. – Also unresolved before the abolishment of the convention, there was some talk on reforming the system of punishment for criminals and traitors, since the normal method is to let them rot in prison on Takron-Galtos (there is no death penalty on Legion World or among the LMBP).
  • Legion World Military – The Legion World military, traditionally the armies of the Triumvirate, became a heated topic of discussion, especially among the Triumvirate’s largest critics, such as Reboot. However, given that the armies of the Triumvirs traditionally had allegiance to the Triumvirs themselves and not Legion World, the Triumvirs played this topic down and attempted to eliminate it as a piece of LMB business, on the grounds that it was a Legion World issue, not an LMB issue. This ultimately led some LMBers, such as Cobalt Kid, to shift his stance to one more accepting of the notion of cancelling the constitutional convention.
  • The LMB Avengers – An idea by Kid Prime to have an active squad of about (7) LMBers to defend Legion World and enforce LMB justice in the UP, this was meant with mixed reactions when the convention came to a close.

The Disappearance of Varalent
As the convention continued underway and a plethora of craziness occurred both within the confines of the convention and outside on the streets of Legion World, one event suddenly occurred which spurred on the eventual halt of the convention and the start of one of the LMB’s most trying times, LMB Infinite Crisis. Varalent, longtime LMBer and often seen as the perfect ‘LMB/Legion World Senator’, was in the middle of a speech when suddenly, he disappeared before the eyes of the LMB! Though it happened quickly, it was apparent that Vee did not leave on his own accord and was aware that something sinister was happening to him.

The End of the Convention
Throughout the convention there were those among the LMB who believed there should not be a convention at all, using the argument that the LMB has always been a more loose-knit group fundamentally opposed to structure and this would serve to limit it. However, many argued that the right wording could ensure the spirit of the LMB would not be hindered by the constitution. As the convention continued, however, the broaching the topics of an LMB Oath of Allegiance caused more LMBers to consider abandoning the constitution. Combined with hot topics such as LMB Avengers, which many opposed, and reform on the Triumvir’s armies despite the Triumvirs believing this should not be a topic of conversation, caused many to suddenly begin switching sides, aligning with the group opposed to the convention. When Infinite Crisis caused an immediate halt to the proceedings, the convention was suspended for a time, but then resumed thereafter. However, given the recent trying times of the Infinite Crisis, many did not have the same enthusiasm. When a significant number of citizens attempted to have the entire convention started again while throwing out all the work that had previously been done, many prominent LMBers then shifted their allegiance to the side that ended the constitution and the convention was then ended.

Therefore, all of the articles that were discussed were never ratified and therefore did not officially exist any longer. So there is no legal basis to assume that anything done in the convention is LMB law or can be used as a basis for argument. However, what was accomplished was the creation of a voting system and guidelines on the power of the LMBP leader that was complete and highly efficient. Though the convention itself had ended the constitution was abandoned as a entity, there were still a large faction of LMBers that wanted to renew the elections of leaders, and they now had the means to process such a function. They thus let the topic lie as sentiment about it faded, and knew they could return to it at the opportune time with the means they had created at the convention.
